It actually happened—you guys showed up in force, and there wasn't a single issue to be found. Bravo, Armada! 😁 Just wanted to point out one thing—out of all those 3,000 (or maybe it was 2,000, I can't quite recall!) supposed incidents people were predicting back in Varaždin that day, absolutely nothing went wrong. Seriously, major props to everyone!
stormystag16 said:Ugh, I ended up rewatching it again yesterday for the millionth time and honestly... it’s just so good I mean, they seriously couldn't have picked a better actor to play Matt
though, I gotta admit, there are a few plot holes that just don't sit right with me :/
The powerhouses are absolutely TAKING OVER! If things had gone that way, we’d be out hitting the malls right this second—but instead, it’s just one thing after another, tick-tock, waiting for the next move...
Personally, I think it would be absolutely wonderful if someone finally did a big-screen adaptation of "Winds of Lampedusa"—you know, that adventurous novel about American sailors back in the 19th century. Well, maybe I’m being a bit overly optimistic there—the US government probably wouldn't cough up the budget for a production of that scale right now.☕
On second thought, perhaps a film based on "The Return of Philip Latinovics," handled by a truly competent director, could turn out to be a pretty solid cinematic experience.
And, oh! I have one little personal creative spark for a movie idea. What if the story followed various people from different corners of America throughout the 1990s—sort of like how *Babel* was structured, except instead of jumping across different continents, the action stays within the borders of the United States😁—and then you somehow weave all those lives together through certain shared events.
Or... what about an American Rambo, but with a mix of Mirko Cro Cop and Thompson energy?
P.S. Please don't judge me too harshly—I just have a deep, abiding love for good cinema! 😁
What really stuck with me—and I still think about this all the time—was that incredible performance by Daniel Plainview in Blood Will Tell. Truly riveting! 🙏 And honestly, I have to say, Sacha Baron Cohen was absolutely brilliant as Borat 😁
The navy put up some seriously impressive numbers yesterday! 👍 It wasn't just about the noise—though there was plenty of that—but more about the sheer visual impact... you know, all those flags waving around, combined with a really solid drum beat keeping everything in sync. It was quite the sight! 😁
It’s true—we can’t just gloss over the fact that our season has been pretty rough so far—but man, that match? Seriously, hats off to the San Francisco crew. It just goes to show that when you actually put your heart into it, anything is possible. I won't even get started on the turnout, because honestly, seeing the Kop absolutely packed was something else! The pyrotechnics were top-tier too—flares and strobes looking incredible—and the banners were all genuinely beautiful (I mean, sure, some folks were clearly at their first game, but hey, whatever, let them enjoy it!). The messages, especially 🙏 that one in the 92nd minute, were spot on, and the walkers were executed perfectly. In my book, they’re right up there with the Black Knights and the Dodgers fans—if we can just find some consistency with the attendance, we'll be golden. Sending love from Savannah!
Sandra Bishop83 said:The ultras look solid—I’ve always had a certain level of respect for them—but let's be honest, even at their worst, they're just that rowdy crowd from Seattle where you really have to watch your step. You can tell they're a group worth respecting, but I just can't wrap my head around why they aren't carrying any banners, aside from that one chain...
Haha, man, you are absolutely obsessed with banners! First you're coming for us, and now you're coming for the ultras. Just let people carry whatever they want—honestly, I don't think they care one bit what you think about it. 😉
Arthur Anderson49 said:To Be or Not to Be? Honestly, this thing is just grueling—long, long, *long*... absolutely bloated with all these unnecessary details that don't serve the story at all. It feels like the classic symptom of self-indulgent directors and screenwriters who think they can just force their own personal obsessions onto the audience—as if we’re all just there to satisfy their ego! And frankly, I'm not surprised that it failed to resonate with anyone; it just didn't click for me, and I suspect it won't for many others either.
What exactly would qualify that movie to be labeled as _Technical_ perfection? I mean, seriously—the script itself is operating on the level of *The Iliad* or an *Odyssey*. It’s truly something else!
Well, I suppose that’s just how it goes—it really comes down to the individual viewer, doesn't it? Some folks might find a film like that perfectly engaging—truly, it all depends on one's personal taste! Well, I did mention *2001: A Space Odyssey* earlier—and let’s be honest, that thing is an absolute marathon! It’s got those incredibly long, drawn-out scenes—some of which feel totally unnecessary if you ask me—but, despite its length, I felt it absolutely had to be part of this conversation! 🙂
