Just whipped up some tuna and chickpea salad—honestly thinking about filing a patent for this 🙂
It's just canned tuna tossed with chickpeas, some chopped onion, and peppers (I’m a red pepper person)—throw in a handful of pine nuts and a drizzle of olive oil, and you're done.
So I looked up this sweet oatmeal recipe—not exactly low-cal, but the ingredients are solid, making it a pretty decent choice for those rough winter mornings when you're just dealing with PMS 😁 Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal
Here’s another way to actually enjoy oats for lunch instead of forcing them down 👍 Savory Oats with Pork Shoulder
And yeah, there are more 😁
Almond and Cranberry Oats A super quick idea for beginners who aren't quite used to the taste yet
So, here’s the deal—mix two cans of tuna (the brine-packed stuff from Trader Joe's works best) once you've drained them well, two medium eggs, one small chopped onion, a minced garlic clove, a bit of dried thyme and basil, and a pinch of seasoning salt. Shape them into six patties—make sure you really press them together so they don't fall apart—and fry them in a pan with a splash of olive oil 🙂 Served with a side of tomatoes.
Kajjaznam, you could try diluting it with water, but honestly, it just won't hit the same way. 🤷 Me? I just take a tiny little teaspoon—yeah, it’s greasy, sure—but it’s super potent, so even a tiny bit is plenty to get the job done.
4 medium garlic cloves 2 cups fresh basil leaves 2 heaped tablespoons pine nuts 1/4 cup olive oil
Throw the garlic in the blender, toss in the basil and pine nuts. Blend while drizzling in the olive oil—keep it steady—but save about 2 tablespoons of oil for later. Pour the mixture into a jar and top it off with that leftover oil.
And look, you don't have to stick to pasta. It’s killer with cauliflower, zucchini, tomatoes... whatever.
So, I whipped up some pesto, but since I couldn't find any damn pine nuts anywhere, I swapped them for cashews—honestly? It turned out amazing. 🙏 Yeah, adding a pinch of salt helps too; makes it hit better. 🙂
Now I just gotta figure out what to eat it with. 🤔
Look, humans evolved walking barefoot on uneven ground. Everyone had calluses, claws like hawks, and skin thick enough to be armor—but their feet were actually functional 😁
Pure logic says strengthening the muscles helps, generally speaking. Works for me. Though, even with my platform boots, I’ve never dealt with the issues you're talking about—my feet just look a bit too wide, which isn't exactly a great look 🤷
The best fix? Just get some high-quality orthotic inserts.
Jesus, I need a quiche dish. I've been obsessing over getting one tomorrow. 🙏 Just tell me where to find one and 🙏 This week's menu features Dana Miller2's meat and egg combo 😁
I don't know which recipe to drop—dammit, feels stupid posting without the actual instructions 🤣
I know, all talk and no action, but here's one of my favorite sides:
Sauté 200g of frozen peas with one onion in a tablespoon of olive oil. Once they soften up a bit, cover them with water, season with some poultry seasoning, and dump in a million tons of dill—fresh or dried, whatever. 🙏
Once it's done, let it sit for a minute so the liquid absorbs.
What kind of dish are you using? Something oven-safe or just a regular pan?
Anyway, much love to you all 🙏 Just keep those recipes coming 😁 If those lazy guys out there saw how easy it is for us creative women to whip this up—and actually enjoy eating healthy food while doing it—they might actually try 😍
Whether my stomach can handle a roux or not, it doesn't matter—I have to steer clear of them, even basic flour 😁
Btw, it drives me nuts when people throw a roux into something like a Bolognese. It’s just totally unnecessary 😁
Hope unknown won't be mad, but I'm gonna drop my own spin on her recipe for mushroom and sesame eggs:
Throw some olive oil in a non-stick pan, dice up an onion, and sauté until soft. Toss in the mushrooms and cook them down until they release their moisture. Add the sesame seeds for a few minutes, then crack in two eggs. Salt and pepper. Personally, I like adding thyme—it's killer 🙂
The original recipe calls for white wine too, if I recall, but I skip it and it still turns out great 🙏
I skip the potatoes entirely—won't even touch them when I'm making stews. I'd much rather go with pureed carrots, celery, or zucchini. Yeah, you can always blend a bit of the beans. I actually did that once because the texture was too thin and it felt 🙂 . Dana Miller2, exactly. That’s literally the whole point of this thread, so just lay out all those little tweaks you make. 🙂
Dana Miller2 said:I never bother with roux for my chili, stews, or cabbage rolls. It just thickens up enough on its own while simmering 🤷 You can always toss in a potato, mash it up, and call it a day—that does the trick.
No clue, honestly. My mom used flour and roux for everything from pepper sauce to bean soup. I’ve had to tweak her recipes since those heavy, flour-filled versions were kind of a slog to eat.
So how exactly does yours get thick enough? 😕 For me, it’s never quite right unless I hit it with a blender—then it’s perfect.🙏
Beans without all that heavy grease or flour. Still hits the spot though.
Take some pre-softened beans—basically cooked, water drained, you know the drill—and toss in a few carrots, two whole onions, and some celery chunks. Season it with salt or a bit of bouillon. Once that's soft, throw it in a blender to make a puree, then pour it back into the pot—that’s how you get that thick texture. Stir in some crushed canned tomatoes or tomato juice, smash a ton of garlic (seriously, go overboard), and don't forget the pepper and a bay leaf 👍
There's zero flour and not a drop of oil in here, but if you're feeling fancy, drizzle some olive oil on top at the end. Honestly, even a little pumpkin seed oil wouldn't hurt.
So, pesto 🙏 Saw it sitting on the shelf the other day, but honestly? Buying that store-bought stuff feels like a scam. I ended up planting this massive, lush basil bush in my garden instead—now I’m just staring at it wondering when I’ll finally kill it. 😍
I’d probably pair the pesto with some meat 🙏 Turkey, maybe. Why not? 🤷
Now for the absolute madness— keto ice cream 🤣
-a scoop of chocolate whey -about a cup of heavy cream -Stevia to taste
Whisk the hell out of it and dump it in a bowl. Toss it in the freezer—pro tip: give it a stir every now and then. You'll end up with two small scoops, about 250 kcal each.
It's edible and actually tasty 😁 vegan-style (honestly, if you're starving—you can seriously pig out, you wouldn't believe 😬 )
200g of Kroger’s vegan spread (my go-to!) 1-2 hard-boiled eggs, still warm a bit of fitness-approved deli ham, just enough 🙏 tomatoes, any size (quarters, halves, whole, whatever’s left over from yesterday, whatever works) salt fresh chives
Mash those warm eggs, mix in the cheese, throw in everything else chopped fine 🙂
Teriyaki sauce setup -> soy sauce (about half a cup), a big splash of cherry liqueur or maybe some dessert wine, garlic, and just a few drops of stevia (since sugar is out).
Take about 10 oz of beef cubes and let them soak in half of that teriyaki mixture overnight. Throw them into a wok with some olive oil and cook for maybe 15 minutes. Toss in whatever veggies you're feeling—zucchini, peppers, onions, cabbage, whatever. Sauté everything together for another 10 minutes, then pour in the rest of the sauce 🙂
I usually just eat it as is. If you aren't dodging carbs, you could always serve it over some white rice 🙏
Peter Phillips32, honestly? I don't see much of a difference between Hostess snack cakes and those Choco Pops—not when you look at the glycemic index or the actual quality. But hey, if it helps the masses or fits the macros, whatever.
Also, I've asked before: let's stick to posting recipes. We aren't looking for another endless chat thread here.😉
Benjamin Grant6 said:I am currently navigating an identical situation. 😢 It is not merely sadness; rather, it feels as though a part of my physical being is dying away every single day. Though, I do not indulge in ice cream... I have reached a stage where even sweets would offer no relief.
It would help immensely if I were granted the chance to touch or hear him once more, yet I am plagued by the fear that such an opportunity will never materialize. I struggle daily against the urge to dial his number, terrified that there will be no answer on the other end. He won't respond to a text message either.
As for me, it seems I am losing weight without even trying, simply from the sheer exhaustion of stress, insomnia, constant rumination, and this pervasive grief.
In any event—do not cast blame upon yourself, because if you manage to escape the sorrow for even a brief moment, that moment is incredibly precious. One day, you will look back and laugh at how much ice cream you managed to consume...👍
You’ve got a different issue here. You're just too sensitive. 🙂
Look, it's obvious—not everyone puts on weight for the same reasons.
Betty Harris15 said:Yeah. I want emotional fulfillment. I want someone who actually gets how I see the world.
Guess we're on the same page then. More than anything, I just want my person. Someone where we feel 😍unstoppable together.🙏
It’ll all work out. Just keep doing the work, keep training, and don't let yourself get burnt out by everything hitting you at once. Don't lose your way—don't start chasing cheap thrills or meaningless flings just to fill the void. It'll come 🙂
