Yeah, they ditched the option to set it permanently. I think any cards you already saved might still be hanging on, though. Personally, I double-check every single time... I've been burned too many times before.
PayPal is just click and forget, whereas with Venmo you have to:
-pull your phone out of your pocket -wake the screen up -open Venmo -tap scan QR code -aim at the code -slide to pay -lock your phone -shove it back in your pocket
That’s not quite how it works. With PayPal, you’re constantly typing in passwords, and if you actually use 2FA—which you really should—you’re pulling your phone out anyway. Not to mention how PayPal loves to "helpfully" switch your conversion settings on its own to use their crappy exchange rates... so you end up having to double-check and fix it every single time. Just more friction in the system...
Is it just not catching at all, or is it straight-up declining? As a workaround, you could always just load it onto GooglePay or ApplePay so you don't even need the physical card on you. And if the card is actually defective, I don't think they should be charging you a fee to replace it...
Kevin Morris12 said:It’s hard to expect them to offer anything remotely competitive when it comes to bill payments. If you ask me, they’ll probably just slap on a fee while completely ignoring all the other, much cheaper ways to get it done.
It finally showed up. Looks like the fee is $1.25.
Chime is working on getting those instant transfers up and running. Chime supports instant stuff too, especially now with those new local routing numbers.
So, Revolut finally went and got their banking license. They’ve already started onboarding users over in Lithuania, and word is they're planning to roll it out to everyone else across Central and Eastern Europe by the end of the year.
