It comes down to the reality I faced. I went to Mayo Clinic with the exact same diagnosis, and they told me I’d be waiting months for the surgery. When you're dealing with vision issues, you don't exactly have the luxury of time.

Plus, while sitting in a waiting room for a private specialist, I actually ran into two gentlemen who were traveling to Germany specifically because they needed surgeons there to fix what had been botched during their procedure at Mayo Clinic.

My advice to the OP? Don't put your faith blindly in our public healthcare system. If you have the means, go private or look for options overseas. You can't afford to gamble with your health...

I might actually travel to see them in a different place, maybe somewhere like Canada. If I had the time, the budget, and if the mood struck me.
But not here in the States. It’s not because I’m some hardcore patriot—honestly, I couldn't care less about politics—but I once walked out of a Prljavo Kazalište show after Houra started praying for fallen soldiers, and then Bodalec chimed in saying how glad he was to be playing in Split because it was the only city left "on the right track" (that was back in 2001). After that, I swore off ever seeing those guys live again.

That kind of stuff has NO business being at a rock concert.

If I were thinking about catching Chorba in a city like New York, or even somewhere else, I'd be doing myself a huge disservice.

Chorba is just a washed-up relic who became a mouthpiece for some really terrible political agendas. That has permanently overshadowed all his brilliant moments as a songwriter and musician, and frankly, his talent isn't enough anymore to justify spending my time, attention, or hard-earned money on one of his shows.

I won't get bogged down in specific names, but honestly, I am more than relieved that the whole Britpop hype era is finally behind us... back in that '97-'98 window... NME used to get under my skin more than any other publication ever could... And the saddest part is, there actually was some real potential there...
