So, I just wrapped up an MRI on my kidneys and adrenal glands (which seems fine, thankfully!), but looking over the report, there’s a mention of something called a splenunculus located somewhere on my spleen—I don't have the paperwork right in front of me to pinpoint the exact coordinates, so bear with me.😕It's about 1.5cm in size. Could someone please shed some light on what this actually is? Is this something I should be worried about, and if it is indeed something "bad," how does one typically go about "fixing" it? I ended up getting this test done because my blood pressure has been through the roof lately. I actually went to see a cardiologist for an ultrasound and an EKG since I’ve been feeling some minor chest discomfort too. The doctor gave me the good news that my heart seems fine, but my blood pressure? Not so much. It’s been hovering between 150 and 170 all day and night—I even did a Holter monitor test to be sure. Since I’m only 23, the whole situation feels a bit more daunting than it should be. There’s also a slight chance my kidneys might be involved, so on top of blood work and a urinalysis, the doc sent me for a kidney and adrenal gland ultrasound. I haven't actually gone yet, though, because I'm stuck in a bit of a loop over whether I should go for the ultrasound or a CT scan. I know one might be better than the other, but then there's the radiation to think about, and honestly, I'm just a bit overwhelmed by it all...
So, I’ve got a doctor's appointment coming up in just a few days, and I was wondering if anyone here could help me make sense of these results? My levels are a bit high on a few things:
HEMATOLOGY: Leukocytes 10.9 H (3.4-9.7)
unsegmented neutrophilic granulocytes 3.0 H (0-2)
BIOCHEMISTRY: Total Bilirubin 31 H (3-20)
Everything else seems to be sitting right within the normal range...
What kind of issues could this potentially point toward?... thanks so much!
