Michael Fowler7 said:I’ll get that sketch over to you tomorrow morning once I’ve had my coffee... should be ready by somewhere around 2 or 3 PM, then I'll shoot you an email.
And honestly, it might take me an hour—maybe two at most—so there’s really no need to worry... 🙂

Believe me, it'll probably take me three times longer than that.
Anyway, thanks a million...
Michael Fowler7 said:Those side supports are what keep the brickwork from collapsing—I mean, a thin wall like that, stacked without being tied into the concrete, would fall over pretty easily...
I was just curious about how the floor works—since I can't tell how that corner meets the ground, the detail might end up being a little off...

And look, I know this isn't really an art subforum, but if you hadn't posted here, I probably wouldn't have seen it—I don't spend much time browsing the other boards...😁 😁

Well, in that case, I'm glad I shared it here... haha...
When do you think you can send that over? I need it fairly soon—my only free time to work on drawing is tomorrow and Monday afternoon...
Could you just shoot it over to my email at zoke0001@gmail.com?
Michael Fowler7 said:haha—we were all doing everything by hand during our freshman year too... thank God for AutoCAD these days... 😁 😁
So, come on, tell me then—what exactly is that Igloo sub-section?

To be honest, I haven't a clue either... she gave us a template, but it’s not even about what it actually is—it's just something we have to draw.
I don't even know what an anchor is, really...
but apparently, we have to draw that too...

It shouldn't be too much trouble to walk you through it—it isn't even a matter of connecting the brick wall to the concrete slab. Just merge the slab with that wall and extend the ventilated facade further up. Just make sure you include masonry ties about every foot or so—that should be plenty—anchored into the concrete just like your drawing shows. It wouldn't hurt to give those ties a drip edge, but that's getting into the weeds... The floor at the base of that wall will be a floating floor, so you'll have the insulation running against the wall, then the PE film, and then the screed. You'll put whatever flooring goes on top—if it were hardwood, for instance, you'd just run a baseboard along that corner to hide the joint... hope that makes sense...
And there aren't any through-ties here (at least not in the connection you sent); those are usually used for structural rigidity in brick walls or as earthquake reinforcement...

Man, you're missing quite a bit 🙏 quite a lot. Could you please just knock this out for me in AutoCAD so it looks correct based on these templates? Right now, I'm stuck trying to draw everything by hand using triangles...
🙏 👍 🙏 👍 😁 😍 🙏
I have a quick question—I'm working on a project for school and I'm a bit stuck on how to handle the connection between a wall and a floor assembly. I've drawn them both as separate pieces, but I'm not quite sure how to actually model the joint where they meet... if anyone could help me out, I'd really appreciate it 🤷 🤷 🤷

Here’s a shot of the wall and the floor structure that need to be joined together
