I'm looking for some honest takes on this:

The forum rules say no advertising—which I totally get—but I’m wondering where we actually draw the line? Like, when does someone just sharing their genuine thoughts or experiences with a product, a service, or a specific company cross over into "advertising" territory that gets flagged by the mods?

Personally, I've come here dozens of times to research stuff—and honestly, I've actually bought things based on what people recommend here! So, is that all considered spam, or is it actually okay under the rules?

I really feel like there should be a crystal clear boundary for everyone. If advertising is strictly off-limits, then shouldn't we just avoid mentioning brand names or companies altogether?
