I’m facing a bit of a situation and was hoping to get some advice or recommendations from this group.
It concerns my father. He just tested positive for occult blood. His doctor has scheduled him for a gastroscopy next week, followed by a colonoscopy just two days later.
From what I’ve gathered regarding occult bleeding, it seems to be almost universally linked to colorectal cancer.
Does anyone here have experience dealing with a positive occult blood test where it turned out not to be something malignant? What does this test actually signify in the grand scheme of things? Should I be panicking right now? How am I supposed to process all of this?
