I feel terrible... I didn't realize the full story behind the medication, so I really shouldn't have said anything. It breaks my heart to think about any life being lost, especially if there was actually a way to help.
Hey everyone. My heart goes out to slyseal28—it’s just devastating when someone so young is taken. Am I lucky? Honestly, I don't even know how much longer my companion will be by my side. Three years ago, it was thyroid cancer. Hospitals, recovery, then three months of pure hell wondering if it had spread... thank God it hadn't. Now, here we go again. Tumors on both ovaries. Back to the hospital, having the ovaries removed, and they took the uterus too just to be safe. And wouldn't you know it, luck is on my side once more; I caught it in time. It hasn't spread. I'm in recovery now. I'm no coward, and I'm trying to stay positive, but you can't help but wonder what the third act is going to be, and if I'll be fast enough to beat it next time.

That question about whether we could have done more really hit home. I think you can always do more, but would it actually change anything? This evil is inside us. I truly believe it's stronger than any of us.
