Hi everyone! First off, much respect to everyone here fighting their own battles against cancer.

I’m not quite sure how to approach this, but I wanted to ask for some input. To give you a quick backstory—my mom has been sick for six years now. She has breast cancer that has spread to her bones. It started with surgery followed by Taxol, then radiation, which caused her hair to fall out. About four years ago, she went through chemo again—I wasn't really following the specific drugs used at the time—and she lost her hair then, too. Exactly one year ago today, they discovered metastases. She was on Herceptin combined with Tykerb, which actually helped at first; her markers dropped significantly. But after a while, things started climbing again.
Recently, she’s been seeing a Filipino healer in a suburban neighborhood. She says she feels like she walks better after each session, but when we checked her markers again, they had tripled. Now she’s heading back onto Taxol, so we’ll just have to see how that goes.

I wanted to ask if anyone here has experience with Filipino healers? We found out about them because my dad met someone who had lung cancer and didn't even try chemo; apparently, after a lot of sessions with a Filipino practitioner, he was cured and is back to working normally today. If you know anyone who has gone through this, please share your stories. And please—I'm asking nicely—don't just jump in to say it's a scam or anything like that.
