I don't even know what to say to make this hurt any less. We all wish our people were still here, that the sickness had never even happened in the first place. Your brain is probably going to spin in circles—replaying everything you did, everything you didn't do, wondering if there was something else you could have tried... It’s totally normal to feel that way. But honestly? I truly believe we all gave it everything we had.
When it came to my dad, I turned my whole world upside down for him. I gave him everything I possibly could, even the stuff that seemed impossible. Aside from the pain, that's actually what keeps me going—that weird sense of "joy in sacrifice," if that makes sense. I'm still stuck in those phases of trying to accept it all, just learning how to live with the hole they left behind.
The fight just keeps going... My mom got sick just a few days after my dad passed. I'm pretty sure the sheer stress of it all just broke her health. 🤷 I'm feeling completely caught in the middle right now... But you can't let your strength or your faith slip. (It's crazy how much a living person is expected to endure...)
Donna Garcia13 said:It felt like we were basically being "shoved out the door." We ended up paying out of pocket for both the doctor and the lodging just because they were trying to send us home. For people who have a patient like that at home, I can only imagine... honestly, it sounds absolutely soul-crushing, both mentally and physically.
Yeah, it’s exhausting as hell, both ways. But hey, I guess that "joy of sacrifice" is just immeasurable, right?
Hey everyone... Just wanted to drop in and say hi. My heart goes out to anyone who’s lost someone close lately. For the rest of you, hang in there—wishing you nothing but strength and wins as you keep grinding. Let's hope the New Year brings some actual good news and a bit of joy for once.
Look, I’m just gonna come out and say it... I’ve been scrolling through all these complaints about doctors—their "expertise," how much they actually care, the service... it's pathetic.😠 It honestly makes my blood boil just thinking about it. Reading these comments just fuels this massive urge I have to go confront them myself,🙂 to look them right in the eye, spit in their faces, and tell them they’re the most miserable, soul-less excuses for human beings I’ve ever met...😠 I know it won’t bring my dad back, but man, my soul would feel so much lighter for it. If I had enough people backing me up, I’d probably march through the streets of New York City and rally the whole damn town to help me drag the truth out into the light and call these people out for exactly what they are. 😠 That said, there are exceptions. To the good ones? Major respect. Hats off to you.🙏 My blood pressure is through the roof right now.
Stay safe, everyone. Keep fighting—for yourselves and for the people you love...👍
Now my own nightmare is starting all over again with my mom... I’m waiting on test results every single day. Maybe I’ll FINALLY be the one posting some actual good news for once. 🎉
Just dropping in to say hey. I honestly don't have the energy to type much. Some things just... they just don't sit right with me.😕
Dad, man, I miss you so much. 😢 The hole you left behind is so dark and deep, I feel like nothing could ever actually fill it. I love you more than words can say.
My angel is gone😢🙂 😢🙂🙂🙂🙂 The pain and the grief... they're just too much. I'm completely shattered.
He was strong and totally present until the very last second. The nurses called me from the hospital because he was calling out for me. I ran like a maniac. Even through all the agony and the struggle, he was just looking at me, trying to figure out how to make things easier for me—he didn't give a damn about himself. He managed to say everything he needed to say. And then, right at the end, he told me he wasn't in pain. My hero. That night absolutely destroyed me.
I keep hoping that, eventually, finding comfort in words and thoughts will help. But right now? None of that matters.

My dad's been on IMMUNOMAX AHCC for about 7 months now. He takes heavy doses. Honestly, I think those mushrooms have made a massive difference for him and they're killer for the immune system. His chemo is pretty brutal, but the mushrooms kept his blood work looking solid. They're a bit pricey, but whatever... You can find plenty of info on them on various forums, plus they have their own website, so just go poke around there.
brisksurfer said:Which ones? Have you already posted about that? 🤷
Yeah, I have, ages ago. Tons of alternative stuff. If you're interested, I'll shoot you a DM. When something like this hits, you just swing at everything. You never know what might actually work—God willing, anyway.
How are things on your end? I’ve been a bit out of it lately; honestly, I haven't had a clue what day it is.
@Susan Diaz91/">@@Susan Diaz91 thanks for the support. Honestly, I’m feeling so optimistic right now I could probably share some with everyone here.. I don't even get where this level of hope is coming from myself. I'm a total fighter when it comes to dealing with this bastard.🙂
Yeah, my dad has small cell lung cancer with metastases in his liver and bones. The doctors basically wrote him off by Christmas.. But.. we’ve got our own ways of doing things that the MDs don't exactly back 😉
He’s finished 9 cycles of chemo (each cycle is two sessions). His blood work has actually been incredible this whole time. He’s been on various germs and natural juices for a while now... and sooo much more... huh...🙂
My dad took his last round of treatment and it was a total disaster. He already went through those "initial" doses, ended up in the ICU, so we told him he needed to take a break from this stuff. But he went ahead and took it anyway...👎
Just herbs and nothing else... He's got photos, but honestly, they don't show half of it. He’s losing consciousness every time he moves his head, constant dizziness, hasn't eaten or drank anything in 15 days, dealing with constipation, his skin is turning this yellowish-white color, stomach pains, vomiting... It’s freaking HORRIBLE.👎
He’s still on IV fluids right now. It looks like they're slowly pulling him back up, though the vertigo is still kicking his ass.
We are definitely pausing—if not stopping entirely—the chemo. I am not about to let these toxins shut his system down when he's actually fighting the most aggressive type of lung cancer.
Stay safe and stay positive, everyone. Wishing all your loved ones the absolute best.
Man, regarding the hiccups—my dad went absolutely insane. Like, literally losing his mind because the hiccuping just wouldn't stop. At first, we were convinced it was from all the procedures, you know, air getting in during things like a bronchoscopy or a colonoscopy, but eventually, we realized it was neurological. It was basically his stomach acting up from nerves. He tried everything under the sun—Largoxtil, Eglonil, Ativan, whatever they threw at him—but nothing worked. The second he finally got back home, he hiccuped for one more day and then boom, it just stopped. Thank God!
Maybe try some fennel tea. Might actually do something for you.
The doctors kept telling us it was because of liver metastases pushing up on the diaphragm... but hey, it stopped for him. Just for context, my dad has Stage IV microc. cancer with spread to his liver and bones.
Talk to the doctors, and honestly, give that tea a shot. It’s free, right? Also, ask them about Eglonil.
Also, I'm a little confused by the part where you said, ''first he lost his appetite, couldn't walk...'' When did things actually start looking up? When did he start eating, walking, and talking again??
Susan Ruiz76 said:My husband is in the hospital right now. He left the house on a Duragesica 25 patch, but today they upgraded him to a 50. On top of that, they’re hitting him with subcutaneous Lidocaine injections, Zaldiar tablets, Normabel tablets, and the chart even lists Tramal injections—so I’m sitting here wondering if this cocktail is actually safe or just overkill 😕, ...
The 25 mg patch didn't do squat for Dad. 🤷 He’s also on regular doses of Tramal 50 mg capsules three times a day. But honestly, unless they give him those Tramal shots, the pain just won't quit. We’re putting the 50 mg patch on him tonight. Fingers crossed it actually does something.😕
I feel absolutely, incredibly terrible—but who am I to complain when he’s going through something so much worse?
Look, you have every single right to feel like crap. How else are you supposed to feel? You can choose to hide it or let it out, but it's part of you. It's what's in your soul, and feeling this way is completely normal and expected given everything happening.
Anyway, hang in there. Keep your chin up and just believe that things will turn around and better days are coming.😘
Lisa White54 said:The patch shouldn't just peel off on its own. Press down hard and hold it there for about a minute. If you want to be extra safe, you can slap some regular medical tape right over it. And seriously, write down the date you put it on so you don't lose track. It’s super important—you don't want to end up in agony if you miss a dose!
Yeah, I already noted the date and time. It lasts three days, then I swap it out for a new one. I have no clue how it even came loose; I held it down for a solid minute, but honestly, my dad sweats way too much. I just taped this one down with some other tape... it ain't going anywhere now.😉
The day before yesterday, I slapped the first Duragesic patch (25 mg/h) on my dad. We were both just sitting there, counting down the minutes for it to kick in because his pain was absolutely brutal. Well, those infamous 24 hours finally passed, and we waited for the relief to hit... But then, when it came time to change things up, we realized the damn thing had peeled right off entirely. 😠 Remove that, put a fresh one on. 🤷
In the meantime, we've been giving him Tramal tablets and injections just to keep him stable until this settles down.
Does anyone have any info on what you can or can't mix with these patches?
Oh, thank God, finally some good news! Beautiful!👍
I hope all those bastards end up crawling and screaming like this.. They’ll regret ever stepping foot inside a human body 😉 They won't get a single drop of Tramal, or morphine, or any patches—absolutely nothing... We'll just sit right here in front of them, watching them suffer and saying, "What happened? Oh, nothing at all... just DIE!" 😁
The Zometa finally showed up. Jutos was dealing with some of his worst pain yet, so they sent him home with it. Tomorrow we’re going to touch base with the doctor and start on the Duragesic patches.
I was just thinking, when his bone pain isn't hitting him, he’s like a total powerhouse.🤷 Man...
He’s been cycling through everything under the sun—Voltaren, Tramal, you name it... even mixing them up. It didn't really touch the pain, honestly, so we switched over to injections whenever things got bad. We’re doing everything in our power to stay away from actual morphine. These pains absolutely wreck him, leaving him totally wiped out, but man, he’s got such a bright spirit, it’s hard to believe. Even while he’s suffering, he isn’t a burden to anyone; he’s still busy worrying if someone is walking around the house too loudly and giving us little reminders. 😁
