Jesse Castillo9 said:I wouldn't recommend the DG HAL method. It didn't help me at all; honestly, I just ended up suffering through extra pain after the surgery. Even three weeks later, nothing felt any different. To make matters worse, I went back to my doctor and they insisted the hemorrhoids were gone, which makes me wonder—if they weren't there, why did I seek a second opinion only to find out this whole "method" didn't actually accomplish anything? That’s just my experience, anyway. Not to mention, I paid an absolute fortune for the whole thing.

How long does it usually take for the hemorrhoidal nodes to shrink? What stage were you dealing with? Was there any prolapse involved? If so, maybe the DG HAL procedure was actually the right call RAR... Still, you really have to trust the doctors...

Eric Brown38 said:I feel a bit embarrassed because I’m just a college student and I’m already dealing with this. It’s not that I’m pregnant or anything, but clearly, I sit way too much and don't drink enough water. Lately, I've been feeling some stinging down there. I honestly thought it was just temporary because of constipation and that it would pass on its own. Then, after cleaning up, things were a mess—I really thought I had just split my skin. After doing a little Googling, I came to the conclusion that I definitely have hemorrhoids. Now I'm wondering, since I really don't want to sit in a waiting room while some doctor pokes around down there, what's the fastest way to fix this? I'd love to just get rid of it. I'm not an athlete, but for someone living in the city, I move around quite a bit and usually don't have issues. But when I'm home, I just sit around playing video games and barely move at all. Will changing my diet and drinking more fluids be enough, or should I be using creams too? I don't think I eat unhealthy food per se, but being a student means my meals aren't regular. When I do eat, it's mostly fast food from the campus dining hall, which we all know isn't the healthiest option. Any advice is welcome.

You can't exactly cure them, but you can keep them under control. If you stay disciplined, you might be lucky enough to avoid reaching the third or fourth stage. Stick to bland foods, maintain good hygiene, eat your greens and veggies, and try to cut back on alcohol and coffee. Drink plenty of fluids, and make sure you don't deal with diarrhea either—that’s just as bad. Also, don't strain yourself lifting heavy weights; that's lethal. (Unfortunately, they deleted that link showing how dangerous heavy lifting can be 😁)...
And go to the doctor. It is much better to have it checked out than to play guessing games. The exam itself isn't actually that awkward—those doctors have seen everything since their residency days, so it won't be a big deal for you...
🤦 I see some people calling Žalons a maestro...😂 Listen, maestro,

Right now, the pain is just plateauing—it stays at this same constant level. If I asked my doctor, they’d probably say I should be back at work by now, but I can barely even walk. I know I'm more sensitive to this stuff, but I really hoped that by day six, the pain would have eased up significantly. I'll check back in a few days, hopefully with better news.

Don't go sitting down just yet.

I'm curious about how that prolapse actually showed up? My primary care doctor mentioned that besides the chemical issues, it's highly likely I'm dealing with rectal prolapse too. I'm waiting on an appointment with a specialist, so I really want to learn as much as I can beforehand. It looks like I might be facing a more intense surgery as well.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure you're just talking about a hemorrhoid prolapse...

steelsailor14 said:Hey there,

I've been dealing with this for about two weeks now. Every time I go to the bathroom, I see blood on the toilet paper. It’s really painful—it feels like a sharp sting during the process, and then the bleeding happens afterward.
It only seems to happen when things are really hard; if everything is soft, there’s no pain and no blood.

My primary care doctor thinks it’s just hemorrhoids and prescribed some hemorrhoid cream to use, but it isn't helping much. At my follow-up, she mentioned it might be a small tear that hasn't fully healed yet, so she told me to keep applying it.

Has anyone else gone through something similar?

Also, should I just apply the cream to the outside, or should I use a finger to apply it inside too?

That's pretty standard, man... And don't just wipe; you need to actually wash up. You should apply the cream inside as well.

Anyway, this diet is absolutely killing me. Are you on one right now, or do you just eat whatever you want?

Everything feels normal, like I never even had those hemorrhoids in the first place...

Ethan Wilson6 said:Michael Diaz4, thanks so much for the comfort, honestly. It helps hearing it's okay that it itches... But for the last two nights, around 3 or 4 in the morning, this unbearable itching wakes me right up. I have to get out of bed and I just don't know what to do... It feels like the itching is actually worse than the pain itself. For the pain, you just take a pill, but for the itch, 🤷 I try using cold compresses... though it feels like that might actually be making it worse... it's pure misery, really. I just finished a ten-day course of antibiotics yesterday, and I feel better, except I still can't fully push them back in, and then there's this itching... I was thinking if I can make it through this without surgery, maybe toward the end of the year, I'll go see the doctor, stay for a month to recover, and finally feel like a new person...
I've been dealing with this for ten years now, ever since the first symptom—just a little blood on the toilet paper. This is my second flare-up, so I'm really hoping I can dodge the surgery this time around... 🙂

You aren't going to be able to push them back in. The only way is for the inflammation to subside completely so they shrink a bit... You can live like this for a while. Honestly, if things calm down, you might even forget about the hemorrhoids for a bit... but then they'll come back in a nasty way. And when they do, you'll have to face the surgery. I've been through all of this before... For the first few years, it was exactly like what you described... and then everything just started going downhill...

Ethan Wilson6 said:Nine days of pure misery, and the swelling still hasn't gone down. The pain finally subsided, though...

But until this inflammation settles enough so I can actually go in for surgery—which honestly looks like my only way out, despite all the horror stories people tell about the recovery process—I have a couple of questions for anyone who’s been through this hell:

Is there a cream that works just as well as Faktu, but with a different formula? Every time I use Faktu, the itching becomes absolutely unbearable.

Has anyone tried using local anesthetics, like Dolocaine or similar stuff, directly on inflamed or prolapsed hemorrhoids?

Lidoprokt is the gold standard for hemorrhoids. If it helps with the itching, go for it, but don't let it give you a false sense of security; once it wears off, the problem will be right back there. I'm worried surgery might be your only real option at this point... Just try to stay calm, see that specialist, and get it sorted for good. Good luck...

Carl Phillips2 said:That was two years ago... and that was back in the USA. Don't get mad at me, but medical science—both surgical and diagnostic methods—advances every single month. I think it would be better to hear from someone who actually went through this recently. Sorry, too much time has passed for that to be truly relevant. Still, I read about your experience; you were basically at the stage right before sepsis. You're lucky you made it out okay!!🙂

🤦Ahem... Well, the conditions there are actually better than anywhere else, like New York City for example... And as far as goes, there isn't anything newer to report yet. Do you really think things changed that much in 24 months...?😂 Maybe do a little Googling before you try to act smart. Read up on how some people messed things up in NYC when they were getting anorectal surgeries done...🙂 With an attitude like yours, I can see your future clearly. I see a lot of complaining about Stage 4 hemorrhoids. Go while there's still time so you don't end up in the situation I'm in. If you do end up there, I can only recommend one specific clinic and one specific doctor...

Carl Phillips2 said:So, here is my question.
I had surgery for hemorrhoids about eight years ago with Dr. File. They ended up coming back after two or three years. During that time, I used those Rosa suppositories, but they only offered minor relief, much like some random private label ointments or even those Pilex capsules. Now, I’m dealing with a slight prolapse again. There isn't really any bleeding, but man, it hurts. The pain is frequent and actually radiates toward my prostate area. It settles down after about 14 days, but then it just starts all over again. I do bleed once every couple of months when I go to the bathroom, but it's just a one-off thing—nothing serious enough to cause anemia.
To be honest, my experience with Dr. File wasn't exactly great. He does it in two stages over two days. On the first day, he applies bands to the prolapsed hemorrhoids and performs a rectosigmoidoscopy. Before any of that, he injects local anesthetic into five or six different spots, which is pretty painful in itself. The second day is even worse because everything is already tender from day one, and then comes more injections that hurt straight to the brain. Then there's the sclerotherapy for the larger hemorrhoids using an electrocautery tool. Even with the anesthetic, it's incredibly painful, and since it involves cauterizing, it burns. Honestly, it was painful as hell, I swear to God. I know those doctors might be older than the hills, but in my experience, it was brutal.
So, I wouldn't want to go through that again...
That’s my situation. What I want to know is about these other methods, DG-HAL and DG RAR. Has anyone actually described the process for these? Which clinic do they use? There are so many pages online that I can't find anything specific, and frankly, reading through seven hours' worth of text is a bit much for me.
I'm interested in experiences at private clinics and, naturally, the costs—but only in New York City. Also, has anyone managed to get an appointment at Mercury? Is it the same method there, and which doctor performs it? That’s my question. If you could provide a detailed, subjective description of the procedure, I would really appreciate it.
Anyway, I won't ramble on forever. Thanks everyone for the help!!

Just look up my posts from two years ago and read them. Everything is laid out there in detail... Just search for my username within this thread and you'll find it all. To be fair, it wasn't in New York City, but you can see how the surgery went and what the recovery was like...

Ethan Wilson6 said:Hey everyone, I have a quick question for Michael Diaz4...
How much inflammation were you dealing with before your surgery, and how many days did the recovery take? For me, back when things flared up three years ago, I felt like I was completely out of commission for about 15 to 20 days. I actually went to the same clinic where you had your procedure, and the diagnosis was pretty grim—stage 4, prolapsed, thrombosed, and inflamed. The doctor showed me that it could actually be pushed back in, even though the pain was absolutely hellish. Then he just sent me home with a prescription for antibiotics, some cream, and suppositories. He basically told me, "Take the antibiotics, take the painkillers, use the suppositories, and try to push it back in whenever you can." So, naturally, I did exactly what he said...
After that last flare-up passed, I actually stayed pretty active and didn't deal with any issues for almost three years. But then, two days ago—today makes it three—everything flared up again. I didn't bother heading to the doctor this time; instead, I'm just trying to repeat that same treatment regimen they prescribed me during the last episode. Honestly, though, my memory is failing me. I can't quite recall how long it took for things to settle back down and stay in place, or how much time I needed before I could finally get that plug back in there...
There are two main reasons why I haven't gone through with the surgery yet. First off, the cost was just too high—I simply didn't have the funds set aside for something like that. And second, honestly? I’m terrified of what might happen during the recovery process. Dealing with post-op complications is a huge weight on my mind.

I was scrolling through some old threads and ended up landing on your posts from pages 82 and 83... I see you were completely out of commission for three weeks there. 😢 Hopefully, things move a bit faster on my end...
Man, how it hurts...

Uuuuuhhh... I’m so sorry. I know you probably didn't want surgery, but the exact same doctor told me that it was absolutely necessary. If you didn't have the money or if you were just scared, I completely understand why things ended up that way. I truly hope something provides you some relief. Honestly, I don't think it's ever going to clear up on its own like that. You can live with it as long as there isn't inflammation, but that's a ticking time bomb. Inflammation before surgery? Let me think... During the war, I remember screaming from the pain maybe four or five times—I honestly thought I was going to die. Then it would settle down. A few years after the war, it happened another three or four times, though it wasn't quite as intense as during the war. It flared up constantly, but somehow I managed. I was always applying ointments, messing around with different creams... To be honest, for a couple of years, I actually forgot I even had this issue. It was terrible, but only occasional. Then, back in 2006, it was a disaster three separate times. I was probably old enough to consider surgery then, but nobody even took a serious look at it; I just kept applying cream. That happened about three times that year, if I recall correctly. Fast forward to two years ago, and I had a total collapse. I nearly died. I was on an IV right before the surgery. And listen, you shouldn't be afraid of the recovery period. It isn't nearly as bad as the time leading up to the procedure. I was cold-blooded about it: I decided there was no point in living if this continued. I figured it was better to die than to keep suffering. I’d be screaming, begging God to just let me die, but nothing worked. My body was giving out. I started getting throat infections and fevers. When they checked my white blood cell count before surgery, it was through the roof. Kandić couldn't even bear to look at it; he just said, "This is an emergency surgery." The cleaning process, the agony through the night... at 6:00 AM, I was screaming after my last bowel movement, but I knew I was finally heading into surgery. Then, slowly, the pain dipped down to a tolerable level—just enough so I wasn't screaming anymore. I laid down in the car (sitting was impossible), went in for the pre-op exam, and just lay there peacefully, happy that the suffering was almost over. Nothing else mattered. At that point, I felt like even dying wouldn't be hard. The surgery itself went fine, though it lasted about two hours. It feels great immediately afterward; nothing hurts for the first few hours, though the lower half of your body feels completely numb. That first morning was rough, though—removing the plug, feeling a bit dazed in a semi-conscious state. Then comes the constant washing, rinsing, and walking around during the day, followed by that nagging pain that keeps you from sleeping until late after midnight. In the morning, it’s not too bad because those IV anesthetics are still working. Once I got home, it was hit or miss. That first night at home was brutal; no sleep, just dizziness and a constant cycle of antibiotics and other meds like Controloc. But slowly, it began to ease up. I wrote about exactly how it went two years ago. Now, I am a new man. A new silhouette (a perfect one, to be exact) and zero lingering issues. I am incredibly happy. I truly hope nobody ever has to go through what I went through before the surgery. But again, life finds a way to pull through.

cosmicmoose2 said:From what I can gather, that surgery only targets the internal issues, which fixes those permanently... but the external stuff, that thrombosis, could still pop up regardless of how successful the procedure was.

I don't have much choice left but to wait for him to get back from his ski trip. If I’ve already paid for this and you're right about the success rate, he better see this through to the end.

I just want to know if there's anything I can do over these next couple of weeks to manage the pain. Is there some kind of cream for this?

There isn't much you can do. Keep your digestion regular and stay away from spicy food. Just pray to God it doesn't flare up again... And honestly, if he didn't know how to handle that, he's not a very good doctor. I'm not sure what to tell you—whether you should look for someone else or stick with him. Man, maybe he just got lucky. 🤷

I've got these blueish-purple lumps right at the exit of my... well, you know.
It's pretty painful. Is it possible they're external hemorrhoids?
I spent the whole day hunting down the doctor who performed my surgery, but I couldn't track him down. I'm at a loss here.

Does cream meant for internal hemorrhoids actually help with this?

Thrombosed hemorrhoids. You really should get that taken care of because it looks like the surgery didn't hold up... Look, I don't want to give medical advice blindly, so you need to see a doctor. It seems like the guy who did the initial procedure might not have been the best choice if things are failing like this. Go get someone to take a look, and if you're doubting his expertise, definitely get a second opinion. Seriously, it's your own ass we're talking about—you have every right to find the best specialist you can afford.

Look, friend, that’s just a colorful lie. You have to keep things soft enough, and what they're recommending here isn't really going to make much of a difference. You definitely need more fluids in your diet. There’s actually a breakdown on this thread about what kind of nutrition you should be aiming for—take a look at what’s been written there...

Now I'm just confused because the pain feels so deep—I honestly don't even know what we're dealing with anymore, uff... I also wondered if something might have abscessed. What happened to you sounds truly awful; I really hope you got it sorted out. 🙂

You really need to have a specialist take a look at this. At this rate, they’ll definitely find an elevated white blood cell count because there's clearly some kind of inflammation happening, but the question is what kind. It might not even be hemorrhoids; maybe you just caught a nasty cold or something... As for me, I dealt with mine permanently and haven't had a single issue since (knock on wood)... When I was doing my pre-op tests, my white cell count was up too, but looking back, it wasn't actually that scary. Still, a specialist needs to be the one to make the call...
