Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
So, it’s been 7 days on the Elocom. At first, things were looking up—actually felt pretty good about it. Everything seemed to be clearing up, but then yesterday? Total setback. It’s like I haven't even done anything at all. 😢
I’ve been watching what I eat and trying my best to stay chill... 🤷
Hyposensitization in Health ·
I've never actually done immunotherapy myself since I deal with a mix of allergies—you can't just do a general desensitization when everything hits you at once. I know plenty of people who tried targeting just one specific allergen, and honestly, it did zero for them. So, sure, maybe ragweed shots will work for you, but a word of advice: if you're also dealing with pollen, grass, dust mites, mold, or even smoke, go talk to an actual allergist before you drop a bunch of cash. It’s all about how much that ragweed specifically messes with you. For me, it was a nightmare two years ago, then last year? Barely noticed it. Anyway, good luck—definitely let me know if it actually works. 👋

Hey 👋

Read through a ton of pages here and honestly, this is a solid group of people.
Never dealt with this before, and I definitely didn't think it was such a big deal. It’s always like that until it hits you personally.
A few months back, I started getting this rash that turned into patches in my groin area and behind my right knee. Since I've got allergies, I figured it was just another one of those, though I usually deal with inhalation stuff rather than skin issues. The rash and itching get worse when I sweat. I figured it might be because I spend all night glued to my computer and sweat like crazy in the groin area, but the part behind the knee didn't make any sense. Finally saw a dermatologist, and after a quick check, they ruled out fungus or bacteria. Initial diagnosis: Psoriasis inversa. They prescribed Elocom, once a day in the evening, with a follow-up in three weeks. If that doesn't work, we're looking at a biopsy. I immediately went down a rabbit hole online, and stumbling onto this forum actually hit the spot for info and finding people who can give some advice.
It seems pretty obvious to me that the liver is the real issue here. I'm living proof—I've been wrecking my liver with Lentostamin for 20 years. It's the only antihistamine that keeps my allergy attacks in check, but man, it's brutal on the liver. Stress is the main trigger, and I've had plenty of that for years. I'm 44 now, and since I was 4, I've gone through enough crap to make anyone's head spin. So, most likely, I've officially joined the psoriasis club. Like any other problem, I'm more interested in the cause than the symptoms. As you can see, the cause is clear to me, and I want to change it. A Doctor, who's also a good friend, told me stress and this frantic pace of life are the big triggers—which basically describes how I live. I sleep maybe two hours a day, sometimes less, always rushing to catch up with everything I started. Even right now, I'm rushing out because I have another obligation, and it's only midnight. I'll be going until morning, and it's been a cycle like that for years. Bottom line: I have to change my lifestyle first. That's a problem I have to fix myself. The symptom part is what I'm hoping you guys can help with. I noticed a lot of you have bad takes on pharmaceutical stuff, but I start the Elocom tonight. I gotta stick to the initial treatment plan, then we'll see. Part of me is still secretly hoping it's something else, but I'm starting to realize it really is psoriasis. The patches in my groin are brownish; no white flakes or scales, and this has been going on for months. Sometimes it itches like crazy, sometimes not so much. Creams help for a bit, then it comes right back. Honestly, it burns more than it itches.
We'll see what Elocom does.
