Ha, by the time you force that "trend" on the rest of the world, you'll be old and gray.

Some things just take time.🙂

Brandon Castillo4 said:People asked me to start this thread, claiming it’s some kind of historical milestone. 👋

😁

Much appreciated.
Yeah, this was the first real call to action. NFLLook, she just went public with it, and bit by bit, things started falling into place. Oklahoma City Thunder...

That other thread is about the Z1 and the NFL. Hopefully, the rest of the football fans around here start showing up again. 😎

Anyone else in the San Francisco area interested?
Anyone from the West Coast, hit me up here or over on the Oklahoma City Thunder forum.
There’s interest, and a few people have already stepped up, but we need to hit a critical mass before this actually gets off the ground. Beyond just players, I need a couple of people willing to help with the actual organization side of things. If you actually believe in what you’re doing and bring even a little bit of enthusiasm, nobody can stop us. Hit me up via DM or use the email listed on the pages above. Subject: e-mail

Heads up—the Oklahoma City Thunder have games coming up soon. You can catch all the NFL action live right here in New York City. 😎

Otherwise, save me a spot at wide receiver, haha. 😁

Two years later and that spot is still waiting... waiting... waiting... waiting... but you... aren't... here... and you're nowhere to be found...😁

PS. Everything happens when it's supposed to, or so they say.

Whatever. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, at least that's how I see it.

Here are some international football links to get you through these freezing, snowy winter nights:

Got a little trivia question for you:

What’s actually going to show up in America once this snow melts and things finally warm up?

And before you ask, "spring" isn't the right answer.

nimblecanyon61 said:I think according to the rules, the game actually stops (or whatever you want to call it) because I’ve seen players stuck in a dead end who literally drop to one knee and everything just halts.

"a player stuck in a dead end... literally drops to one knee and everything just halts" => that's usually the QB doing it to dodge an injury. He's too vital to lose, especially with his arm.

Yeah, you're right on one point,
BUT from that moment on, everyone is calculating yards to the next first down, whether it's second, third, or fourth down, how close they are to the end zone, how much time is left on the clock, and what the score is. That's when the next play gets mapped out and players get back to their huddle.
So there's basically zero time for a "break" or a breather. Maybe 4 or 5 seconds if you're leading, but if you're losing, you don't even get that.

The same goes for the defense.

From a player's perspective, there is no break; you're mentally or physically locked in the entire time.

As a spectator—assuming you actually know the basic rules—you get the same feeling.

You only feel like the game has stopped at halftime or during a timeout.

What kind of "chicken wings" are we talking about? Send me some suggestions... maybe pair them with a beer too... though I'm not really sure what's good in the US yet.

👋

Looks like 14-7 for the Patriots. Looks like Tom Brady finally woke up!

Shxx said:The game stops every single time a player touches their knee to the ground while holding the ball. Total joke.👎

European rugby is just built different.

First off, the play doesn't just stop; they just reset for the next down.

Second: under NFL rules, it’s not a dead ball just because a guy hits his knee. It only counts if an opponent forces him down. If he just trips or falls on his own, he gets right back up and keeps running. That's how it works.

As for rugby being "something else"—yeah, you're not wrong there.

Honestly, without rugby, we probably wouldn't even have American football. Mad respect to those rugby players; they've definitely got guts. And yeah, I'm talking about the ball shape too.👍

darkgardener5 said:If they run that specific play, things are gonna get messy. If they don't, it’s a cakewalk for the Patriots.
Anyway, have you guys settled on a schedule yet? I’m thinking about trying out some flag football first, then seeing where things go from there.
Also, can someone point me toward where to buy a football in Washington, D.C.? My ball went flat and I haven't been able to find a decent one anywhere in the city—all I keep seeing are rugby balls.

We haven't finalized anything, but we're working on it. We still need a few more players here in Washington, D.C.

So hit us up at: americki-nogomet@net.hr so we can add you to the list and tell the others to reach out too.

Once that's done, we can figure out the gear and the rest of the details...

Someone suggested we meet up at Miami Beach once in a while, grab some food, and just sit down to talk about our next moves.

What do you guys think??

Catch you later.😉

Is the Super Bowl going to be broadcast this Sunday??

I’m guessing kickoff is around midnight!?!

Think the New England Patriots can pull it off again this time??

With a defense like that and a flexible offense led by Tom Brady, it's a no-brainer for me.

The Philadelphia Eagles have the drive, but let's see if they actually deliver.

So, we’re saying I’m stepping in as the Safety, then? Agreed? 🙄

Best,
P.S. Brush your teeth... unless you want the girls to run.
NFL Discussion in Other Sports ·
That’s just how those QBs are—they love acting like they own the place.
They keep their "throwing technique" a secret so nobody else can steal their "job"🙄 or take over their spot on the roster.🙂

Maybe try using a smaller "youth" ball; might be easier for you to handle.

I’ll give you one reply for every touchdown... so if he hits ten, I guess that means a full meal, like his manager getting a grilled sea bass or something like that.😉
Hope those terms work for you.

Ten XL greetings served on an onion bagel with some spicy relish.🙂
NFL Discussion in Other Sports ·
Hey Rita,
hey NFL fans,

Can you lend us your QB? You know, the guy throwing the ball. Always handy to have on call. We might even give him back... 😵maybe.

The teams aren't official yet, but once they are, the players will pick their own names.

Anyone got suggestions?
Something that fits Washington, D.C., so both the players and the fans actually feel a connection to it.

Honestly, sports are AWESOME—especially for women.

I’ve gone up against them a few times before (it was tough to swallow!), but I'll tell you this: women play with way more passion than the guys do.

Cheers to the crew and thanks 👋
