Psoriasis [PLEASE READ FIRST POST!] in Health ·
Hey everyone, I figured it was about time I checked back in after being away for quite a while!
So, for a good stretch now—since May, actually—I’ve been following the advice shared by Chris Morgan67, though I have added a few of my own little tweaks to the routine.
To give you some context, my psoriasis had taken over about 50% of my body, covering my arms, legs, and backside entirely.
Here is what my current regimen looks like:
Every single time I shower, I apply Nivea baby oil while my skin is still soaking wet. On top of that, I take an Omega-3 supplement every day, along with Beta-carotene and a Centrum multivitamin (just enough to hit those daily vitamin requirements) in a single pill. Whenever I get the chance to soak up some sun, I make sure to slather pure olive oil on my skin both before and during my time outdoors.
Honestly, I can't quite pinpoint which specific part of this routine did the heavy lifting, but I know that being near the ocean and getting plenty of sunlight always helps me feel better in the summer anyway. That said, this is easily the best my skin has looked in the last seven or eight years; all I'm left with are a couple of very faint spots on both elbows, and that's about it.
I am admittedly a bit anxious about how things might shift once autumn rolls around, but for the moment, everything is absolutely perfect and I am truly enjoying it.
Best wishes to you all!!!

Michael Ramos3, please, give us an update! What’s the status? You talked about this cream so much that I honestly expected some kind of medical revolution, but instead, there’s just total silence from everyone on this board.
I'm honestly at a loss for words!!

The first decisive group of members from this forum have already picked up the ointment, and I am truly hoping they have begun their treatment. So, let us just wait a little longer—God willing—and then I hope they will be the ones sharing more updates than I am.

WITH FAITH IN GOD
BEST REGARDS

Hello everyone!
Since Michael Ramos3 himself mentioned that several forum members have already collected this miraculous ointment, I suggest we stop the back-and-forth arguments here on the forum. Instead, let’s wait for one of our long-standing members to chime in and confirm the results.
If that (God willing) miracle actually happens, I will be the first person to hop in my car and drive straight to Belgrade to see Michael Ramos3; I'll pay him full price for the ointment, and I'll buy his kids enough chocolate to make up for any trouble.
That is why I am calling out to those forum members who have already obtained the ointment—please, speak up!!!
Best regards!

We just don't have communities quite like this one back home, which is exactly why I decided to join yours.
My father struggled with psoriasis for nearly thirty years, starting when he was only twenty-five.
Back in 2000, he started using a topical salve that he had been formulating himself for years; since then—and we are now looking back from 2007—he hasn't had a single flare-up, regardless of what he eats, even though his diet used to absolutely devastate him.
I would truly love to be of some assistance here, especially since we’ve spent years applying that same salve to others dealing with psoriasis, including those with the most unusual and complex presentations of the condition.
I'll do my best to keep up with your discussions over the next few days and stay active in the thread.

Well, if you're actually looking to help, what are you waiting for? Send the salve over so we can give it a shot!!!

Honestly, I’ve known for years just how vital diet is when you're dealing with this; knowing what triggers my flare-ups makes things difficult because spicy or heavy foods are completely off the table. Luckily, I’m currently down by the coast, so everything is light and easy, mostly just olive oil. I actually stumbled upon a herbal cream for psoriasis at Dr. Antićević’s apothecary that you apply directly to the affected areas. To go along with it, I’ve been sipping on some chamomile tea and mixing in green honey to give my immune system a little boost. If you can track it down, give it a shot. It’s made from lard, beeswax, natural oat, and pine resin. The recommended regimen lasts about 40 days, applied twice a day. As for food, they suggest eating dairy products like salads with sour cream, along with lean meats—think veal, chicken, or fish—plus plenty of fruit compote. On the flip side, you have to strictly avoid anything acidic like wine, vinegar, lemon, orange, or berries, as well as spicy stuff, smoked meats, and peas. This is specifically for those who might not realize just how incredibly important nutrition is in this fight. Also, regarding those mummy tablets, were they herbal-based? Anyway, thanks again for the insights.

Please let me know how you get on with the Antićević therapy.
Best regards!

By the way, there's a massive feature in this week's Democratic Party publication about some black spring water over in Palm Springs that's supposedly amazing for treating psoriasis.

Actually, I caught that same article in the Democratic Party paper too, and it sounds pretty intriguing. I already went ahead and called the spa to ask about treatments—it looks like it costs about $1667—so I was wondering if anyone here has actually been there before? I'd really appreciate some firsthand feedback so I don't end up throwing my money down the drain.
To be honest, I found it incredibly suspicious when I asked them if they had any "before and after" photos from previous clients; they claimed they didn't have anything, and frankly, that's an immediate red flag for me!!

Susan Flores25 said:I feel compelled to share my recent experience with you all.
I live in Cleveland and I am 37 years old. I have been dealing with psoriasis for over a decade now; it primarily manifests on my palms and the skin around my finger joints on the outer edges. About ten years ago, I went to see a dermatologist using a referral from my primary doctor. She prescribed some Locasalen and that was essentially the end of it. She did a quick check of my head, elbows, knees, and back, told me not to get stressed, and advised me to watch my diet.
Well, fast forward to a few days ago. I started searching online for a dermatologist and found a few options here in Cleveland. Through a process of elimination, I ended up back with the exact same specialist. I honestly thought that since everything has transitioned toward private practice lately, the level of patient care might have improved. Naturally, I was mistaken. First off, the vibe while I was waiting was just terrible; the office itself hasn't changed at all—you can hear everything happening in the waiting room, there are those old metal beds, and the partitions are made of worn-out sheets. And of course, it was the same doctor. One thing that bothered me immediately was how she addressed me with "you" instead of "ma'am"—though, to be fair, I suppose I still look quite youthful despite being nearly 40. She grabbed a notepad and immediately said, "Look, we have a revolutionary new preparation now—Zorro. You'll be using that alongside Belmond." I was instantly suspicious because I hadn't read much about it. I told her plainly that I didn't want to use Belmond and that I was skeptical about this Zorro; I mentioned I had read extensively about Psoriasis and asked for her thoughts on that instead. She just persistently ignored me, insisting that Zorro is fantastic and that she would write the prescription. She kept speaking down to me in this condescending tone, saying things like, "Oh, well, you see, I have a treatment available that costs $15,000! But who could I possibly recommend that to?"
Forgive my outburst, but why on earth does it matter to her? Why won't she simply outline all the available options? Aren't physicians supposed to HELP us? The first thing I read online once I got home was that Zorro should never be used if a woman is pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, as the retinoid could harm the fetus or the infant. Given how intimately she addressed me with "you" and the fact that she had already asked for my date of birth, wouldn't it have been prudent for her to ask if I was pregnant or planning to conceive, considering my age? I have been trying to conceive for six months now, and it is quite obvious that this stress is a contributing factor to my flare-ups, especially since the conception process isn't working for me yet. 😬 🙄 Consequently, I am under constant stress.
I told her again, "I've been reading about Psoriasis, what do you think about it? I'd much rather try that; I read online that it can be ordered through a pharmacy in a major city like Chicago." She just played dumb and suggested I could try finding it at a private pharmacy if they were willing to prepare it.
To make a long story short, I managed to order the Psoriasis treatment without too much trouble, as that specific pharmacy handles orders without much fuss (you just need a private prescription and to pay a deposit upfront). The doctor actually knew this all along, because as soon as I reached out to her again, she called the pharmacy immediately and recounted exactly what they had told me! I had to go back to the office to get the private prescription and then head back to the pharmacy, even though she could have resolved the entire matter IMMEDIATELY the first time.
I am deeply disappointed. It is baffling to me how someone can be so indifferent, treating patients with such a "one-size-fits-all" approach without bothering to inquire—beyond the standard questions about parents, job, stress, and diet—about the actual life of the patient, their needs, and their circumstances before attempting to determine a course of therapy.
Now I am just playing the waiting game until my Psoriasis treatment arrives in two weeks. In the meantime, I’ve decided to stick with the Belmond cream for the recommended ten days—since my skin is currently in pretty rough shape—and then I'll finally see if this Psoriasis medication actually lives up to the hype. I honestly haven't been able to find any clear information regarding how it affects pregnancy, which is a bit unsettling. It might not even work for me, but I suppose it's worth a shot at this point.

I couldn't agree more; most of the dermatologists I've encountered have been nothing more than indifferent morons who honestly shouldn't be allowed to practice medicine.

Rebecca Ramos81 said:Thanks, but could you tell me if it gets crowded there? What time would be best to swing by? I happen to work nearby, so I might be able to duck out for a few minutes. Also, which dermatologist referred you to this treatment?

I was referred by Dr. Pavicic. As for the crowds, I usually stop in right after work myself, and I've found that aiming for around noon is probably your best bet; everyone tends to rush in during the morning hours, and since he wraps things up around 1:00 PM, the waiting room starts thinning out by about 11:30.

Rebecca Ramos81 said:Does anyone have a recommendation for a dermatologist in Miami who specializes in psoriasis? I’m also curious if anyone there actually utilizes phototherapy—I've been looking into it, but I'd love to hear some firsthand experiences before I commit to anything. Any insights would be greatly appreciated. 😕

I recently underwent UVB phototherapy at the VA Hospital in Miami, and honestly, the experience was quite positive—especially considering how much easier it makes managing widespread flare-ups across the entire body. The protocol usually starts with you heading into the clinic four times a week for one-minute sessions, though they eventually taper off the frequency as you progress. It’s remarkably similar to using a tanning bed, but you really have to be diligent about applying specific creams during the process to ensure the treatment actually works effectively. If you stay on top of everything, you should see your skin become almost entirely clear of patches after about 45 days of therapy. Of course, how long that clarity lasts is entirely dependent on how disciplined you are with your skincare routine once the treatment concludes.
P.S. This therapy is straight-up carcinogenic!
Greetings to everyone!

Has anyone here actually visited Dr. Višnjić over in New York City, or perhaps tried his specific therapeutic protocols? I'm curious to hear if anyone has any firsthand experiences or feedback regarding his methods.

malady said:I’ve posted about this before, but I haven't received a single response regarding tattoos and psoriasis.

Furthermore, I felt as though I had been treated like an outcast with AIDS when they turned me away during a transfusion simply because of my psoriasis. Not a soul—not my GP, my dermatologist, nor even my dermatology professor—bothered to mention that I am ineligible to donate blood. Has anyone here actually attempted to donate blood before?

And on a slightly more intimate note: for those of you living with psoriasis, what is your sex life like? I am only 19, yet I have already encountered all sorts of reactions to my condition.

P.S. At the moment, I'm not using any prescription medications; instead, my mother ordered some cream containing salts from the Dead Sea. Although I was quite skeptical at first, I must admit this is the first autumn I haven't spent peeling.

Honestly, this is a deeply interesting question, as I have found myself in similar situations where things would be going perfectly with a girl until I undressed, only to be met with strange reactions—even though I always make sure to explain upfront that it isn't contagious. Perhaps we can't even blame people; one has to wonder how they would react if we didn't have psoriasis, facing someone covered in red patches right next to them in bed.

Greetings, everyone.
I’ve just stumbled upon this forum and noticed quite a few people here dealing with psoriasis.
To give you some context, my journey started about a decade ago when the first patches appeared; from there, things progressively worsened every single year until I eventually reached a point where it covered nearly my entire body.
I have honestly tried just about every method imaginable—from strictly clinical medical treatments to various alternative remedies—and if I can offer any insight, the only thing that has provided genuine relief for me is UVB therapy.
I am actually undergoing my second round of treatment right now, and it has managed to clear almost everything away, leaving me in a relatively stable state for a few months at a time.
I realize this isn't a perfect, permanent fix, but as far as I'm concerned, it has been the most effective option I've encountered so far.
Best wishes to all of you, and please, do keep us updated on your own progress!!
