Linda Chase81 said:How does one actually get therapy at the Oil Springs facility? Is it through a doctor? Can you just show up? What’s the damage financially? Does health insurance pick up any of the tab? 😕

It’s actually quite straightforward. You just give the Oil Springs clinic a call and ask to schedule an appointment with Dr. Krnjević-Pezić. Before you do that, though, make sure to check in with your primary care physician to get a referral for the Oil Springs consultation. Once you’ve had your initial exam with her, she’ll evaluate your current psoriasis flare-ups and advise you on which specific treatment plan would be most effective for your situation.
Personally, I usually opt for phototherapy since my condition isn't particularly aggressive—just some patches on my elbows and a few spots on my legs—and the results after about six weeks of treatment have been nothing short of phenomenal. You can reliably expect a clear stretch for half a year, if not longer. Best of all, insurance typically covers the whole thing, so you aren't looking at any out-of-pocket expenses for the treatment. Believe me, it is absolutely worth it.

If anyone happens to have some insight, I’d truly appreciate it; I’m looking into using these specific preparations to try and get my psoriasis under control.

I might suggest looking into Psorcutan ointment or cream—something I actually discovered through discussions right here on this forum. Since it's imported, you'll likely need to pick it up at a private pharmacy rather than a standard drugstore. I’ve been using it for about two weeks now, and honestly, I’d say things are looking about 85% better. Apparently, the results are even more pronounced if you combine the treatment with some mineral baths out in Palm Springs (assuming, of course, you have the means to make the trip... I'm actually heading out there in six days myself)!

p.s. It’s definitely worth a shot!!👍

Don't get me wrong—I’m at my absolute best during the summer when the sun and the coast do most of the heavy lifting, or perhaps right after a trip to the tropics, but even in the dead of winter, things usually tend to take a turn for the worse. Lately, I've been weighing the pros and cons of investing in a small tanning bed equipped with UVB lamps. Apparently, they have some decent options over in Germany, specifically the METEC UV236T models utilizing Broadband UVB Lamps. It might be worth looking into.
It’s about $1,000. It isn't exactly pocket change, mind you—certainly not if you're looking at it from a certain perspective—but I honestly think that amount could be enough to keep things stable even through the winter months. It’s a significant investment, sure, but if it actually does the trick... well, it might just be worth the hit.

I honestly don't see how you'd even begin to determine your own dosage for light therapy. When you go to a clinic for something like petroleum treatments, you aren't just winging it; there are actual professionals there who dictate exactly how much time you can spend under those lamps each day. You have to be careful—those things are incredibly potent. I’m speaking from firsthand experience here; I’ve undergone that specific type of treatment before, and the results were nothing short of remarkable. As for the cost, though? If these home setups actually delivered the same level of efficacy, I’d be the first one reaching for my wallet.

Hmm... I’m actually heading down to the local pharmacy tomorrow to pick up that ointment we were discussing. If it truly works the way you claim, I might just have to become a believer. I'm genuinely curious to see if it lives up to the hype.🙂

It’ll run me about $43

That’s great... I actually called them up earlier today, and the woman on the line told me I’d be looking at a four to five-day wait before $43 arrives. I had no idea; I was under the impression it would show up around $58👍

I stopped by my usual pharmacy today to ask about picking up some Psorcutan 5 ointment, and they gave me the bad news: apparently, I’m looking at a two-week wait just to get it in stock. It's a bit frustrating, honestly. However, I heard someone mention that if you go to that pharmacy over on Broadway, they can usually have it ready in maybe two or three days. Does anyone know if that's actually realistic, or am I just chasing shadows?

Yeah, I’m planning on starting phototherapy in about two or three weeks, and I'm thinking of pairing it with some Psorcutan 5 cream to see how it goes. Right now, my psoriasis covers roughly five percent of my body. My hope is that once I grind through a 45 to 60-day stretch of phototherapy, I'll be in the clear for at least half a year. That said, I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually used Psorcutan 5 before.
