I really want to congratulate Octo for having the guts and being so honest about sharing his terrifying but true story regarding his battle with psoriasis. To a lot of people, he could be a real role model... though I think the main takeaway should be that while the road is incredibly tough, it's definitely manageable. I wish Josh nothing but the best. His courage might just be the spark someone needs to keep pushing forward with their own life.
Hey everyone on the forum. Wishing you all the very best!!!!!!!!!!!

silentheron25 said:I was out there today too... waves were a bit bigger than usual. Got worn out pretty quick though, so I only managed an hour of sleep later on. Honestly, I’m starting to look like some guy from Latin America. I’m sick of this pale, sickly tan... it just doesn't look right. I spend forever in the water, just constantly going in and out, swimming instead of just sitting around tanning. It definitely feels better... I'll post some progress photos soon...

It’s definitely better to look Latino than to deal with psoriasis. Between the chemo and not having access to the beach, even when it's hot as hell and you need to wear short sleeves, it's a struggle. Every morning before work, I waste half an hour just trying to camouflage my elbows so people don't keep asking me what's wrong. You're lucky to have the ocean and the sun right now. Hey everyone, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm still lurking and following along. Greetings to the whole forum...

silentheron25 said:Unfortunately, I can't be as happy as you are yet... after 9 days, the results are barely noticeable, especially on my hands, back, legs, and stomach. It’s constantly itching—nothing crazy, just a constant little nagging sensation. My skin has calmed down a bit, sure, but that redness is still way too obvious. I’ve got 11 days left of my vacation, and it would be amazing if this clears up or at least improves significantly by then. Otherwise, does anyone have experience with Zorac gel? My doctor recommended it.

I just started using it myself, but I'm being really careful because it's such a strong medication. You have to apply it strictly to the affected spots without touching any healthy skin. I'm seeing decent progress in some areas, but not everywhere... I guess it just needs more time. I'll keep writing updates as things move along. Best,

silentheron25 said:I honestly feel like it might be a little selfish to have kids... since there's this pressure that we all *have* to have them and that it's just the "normal" thing to do. I have slightly different views than most people, so don't take this too hard, but here's my take. I don't intend to have children because of the psoriasis, but more because I just don't see myself as a parent type. It feels better not to have them than to bring someone into this world who has to deal with certain flaws or struggles just because that's how I turned out. Plus, passing those genes down knowing you'll likely hand that psoriasis gene to someone, somewhere, down the line... I don't like that feeling. I know how hard it was for me when I was younger, and seeing someone else live through that again because of genetics... it's tough. If I ever do have kids, I'll probably adopt. There are plenty of kids out there waiting for help, and bringing new lives into the world feels a bit selfish to me these days, especially when everyone is struggling just to get the basics—like food, water, or dealing with things like the consequences of HIV, which I'm sensitive to. It’s not that simple. You shouldn't have to have kids only to give them additional misery if one of us is already dealing with this. That's just my view on it... probably won't win any awards for it, right jadesailor14? 😁 👍
anyway, the balm seems to be working, it's just going pretty slow and the redness is still there... but I'll manage somehow. It'll get better every day

Kids are the best thing in life. Sure, they aren't easy, there are problems every single day and a lot of stress, but I think the happiness that comes from their little lives can't be compared to anything else. When my son hugs me and tells me I'm the best mom in the world, or when he pets me with those tiny hands and tells me he learned everything from me... man, psoriasis has nothing to do with that. Kids are an invaluable source of joy and positive vibes in any family. Believe me, there is nothing better. I respect your perspective, but please consider mine while you're weighing whether or not to have them. (My recommendation is to have them). Life is just better with them. As a mother, I know because I've felt it, and nothing compares to the love for a partner. This love for children is the real, honest, pure stuff. Best, (just think about what I wrote)😉

Sophia Campbell73 said:What are the odds that a child will develop psoriasis if their mother has it? I struggle so much seeing every single little spot on my kid's skin. If anyone has any insight or experience, please let me know.
Greetings from a worried mom!

Sophia, don't panic unnecessarily... first off, it really depends on how many people in the family have psoriasis and which side of the family it comes from, but it absolutely doesn't mean that because Mom has it, the kids have to. It all comes down to so many different factors... mainly a person's constitution and how their immune system is holding up. From what I know, a child doesn't necessarily catch it just because the mother has it. In my family, for instance, nobody else has it—honestly, nobody even remembers anyone ever having it—yet here I am. So, there aren't really set rules with this thing. I have a little boy too, but I don't think he's going to get it. Just try to stay positive. THE RULE IS THAT THERE ARE NO RULES. Don't worry more than you have to. Last year, my son broke out in these big rashes while we were on vacation... for a split second, I started doubting myself, but it didn't matter since it cleared up so fast for him. I realized afterward I was probably just being paranoid and crazy, jumping straight to psoriasis like everyone else does here. Don't weigh your kids down with this fear... they might never even deal with it. You can actually fight psoriasis just by keeping a positive mindset. I hope this helps ease your mind a bit... especially when the kids are healthy, happy, and acting totally normal.
Best,😍

I don't know a ton about all these different medications, but I found that Zorac on the website of an American pharmaceutical company... I think. It says right there it's really potent and has a lot of contraindications. You shouldn't even touch healthy skin with it because it causes redness and stinging. My local pharmacist wouldn't recommend it at all without talking to a doctor first, mostly because of that. Just please be careful!
Wishing you guys the best!

Thanks, Sophia. For now, I'm just dabbing it onto the tiny spots... barely touching them with the tip so I don't accidentally hit any healthy skin. I read everything you mentioned when I bought the stuff, so I know I have to be careful... but I'm not ready to give up until I've tried everything. I'll give it some time, and if things don't improve, then I'll call it quits. Thanks for looking out for me. And thanks to everyone else for being so understanding...🙏

It’s great that you aren't here right now. I'm from Veles and I've been dealing with psoriasis for seven years. I wanted to ask where you get those Chinese patches from. Best regards...

Hello Goran,
You can find those Chinese patches at any pharmacy that carries Replek; they're the main importers for them. So, if there isn't a pharmacy in Veles, you'll have plenty of options here in Skopje. It really just depends on how much area your psoriasis covers... if it's just small spots, you might be able to get them healed, but if it's widespread, it probably won't work. As for Butavat, I don't have a very strong opinion myself. In the early years, it helped me out, but not anymore. I only use it on tiny areas now, but it doesn't seem to have an effect... I've likely become resistant to it. Plus, honestly, it dries out the skin too much, so I tend to avoid it now. There's a new medication called Zorac that just arrived here in Skopje. I picked some up at Zegin about a week ago. I'm not quite sure what the results are going to be yet, but I'll let you know... Regards...👍

Sophia Campbell73 said:Michael Ramos3, thanks for the kind words... If I didn't have faith in God, I wouldn't even be having these kinds of conversations with you all.
When my psoriasis first hit, it felt like the end of the world. For years, only my family knew what I was going through. Eventually, things shifted slightly—I stopped hiding it quite as much, but those stares and questions... they were still too much to handle. Over the last five or six years, though, I haven't been hiding. I can answer questions about my skin patterns more easily now. I'm actually seeing my hair stylist and getting my makeup done again...
I've accepted this condition... or at least, I think I have.
I still have those little moments of crisis, but they pass quickly. Honestly, I don't really have the luxury of self-pity when I have three kids who need me 24/7.
I truly hope this is the end of the road for my psoriasis.
P.S. I'd look ridiculous in a swimsuit for the rest of my life. I'd have to find help somewhere else...
Glory to the Lord!!

Sophia Campbell73, don't lose hope. There are plenty of us out here. Keep your head up.👍

Hey there,
I haven't been active on this forum for quite a while now, but don't think for a second that I've stopped following along with all your posts... First off, I want to wish everyone who started using the balm nothing but success, and I'm eagerly waiting to hear how things turn out for you. If the results end up being good, maybe I'll finally dive into that adventure myself... It’s clear everyone here has such a great spirit, and I really respect those attitudes. Keep pushing forward!!!!!!! Sending a special shout-out to Gregory Mendoza3—wishing him absolutely nothing but the best and a sure recovery. Much love to you all, Gabby is always watching over you.

Generally speaking, I agree that places like this are magnets for profit hunters...
and their only real goal isn't helping anyone, it's just hooking new customers to make a buck (without any guarantee of a cure, since they aren't actually curing anything, just selling snake oil)

Still, if we go around accusing everyone who mentions a product, a cream, or some therapy—or just something that worked for them—of being some villain coming to dump lies on us and steal our money... then this whole Psoriasis corner... this victim sub-section of the forum (don't like the title, feels too pessimistic) might as well be shut down entirely.

Because if all we ever do is talk about how things are going... whether it's receding or active or (God forbid) you have a flare-up like I do... then I don't see the point of all this PVP... because, from what I gather, this section was meant to be a place to swap experiences to help people facing the same struggle.

Isn't it strange? If you find something that actually helps, you keep it to yourself. Or you make a post saying, "Hey, I found something great that cleared me up," and when everyone naturally asks what it was—because wouldn't they want to help themselves too?—you get offended and snap at them, "Shame on you, I'm not an advertiser, I'm not here to profit off your misery."

That's a pretty extreme example, sure, but if things keep functioning this way, we’ll end up right back there. If you think about it, even talking about your diet or specific products can be seen as advertising, because you're technically putting money in someone else's pocket again.

Anyway... look, does this forum have people looking to exploit you? Sure. Are you certain who's genuinely trying to share helpful info and who's trying to scam you? Probably not. It's up to you to judge what to do, but let's not go accusing every new member of being an "impending robbery."

And here's my own track record... I've mentioned all sorts of things since I've been here... asking questions, even being a bit clueless and posting addresses or links in public areas, from German snake oils to various spas... or even expressing interest in Michael Ramos3's ointment. If I were an advertiser, I probably wouldn't
be jumping all over the place like this, because it would be hard to work for the Germans, the spas, naphthalene, Michael Ramos3, and whatever else I've brought up all at once.

So please, before you accuse someone of anything in the future, just take a second to think... because making false accusations isn't a small thing.

As for the situation Robert Clark2 is bringing up... I don't know... maybe my friend Robert Clark2 is right, maybe he isn't.

Haven't you noticed that, unfortunately, Gabby has disappeared after that whole mess similar to this... (maybe she's just hurt and angry)

Whatever... just don't be paranoid. Be reasonable and stay cautious.

Gregory Mendoza3, I hear you. You say you're going to try Michael Ramos3's ointment; I wish you the best of luck, and I truly believe you'll find relief. Every flare-up passes eventually. It's just up to you to endure the hell it puts you through. Most importantly, keep a clear head and keep your sanity, believing that things will get better. Wishing you nothing but the best. Kind regards.😍

Or maybe they’re just terrified that if we talk about it too much, she’ll come crawling back in that hellish form... and then none of us will be able to stop her. My husband is the same way; he hates dwelling on it. He just gives me that look like, "Honey, please, you're fine, you're healthy, you're overthinking this." And honestly... maybe I am overthinking it. Maybe she doesn't need the spotlight. Maybe it's better to just live a normal life and deal with her on the fly...

Maria Doyle27 said:aww, thanks Elizabeth Lee49 😘 I didn't even feel that way at first, honestly. I’m usually such a sensitive soul and I cry pretty easily—so I actually broke down right there in the doctor's office when she gave me the biopsy results (Jesus, looking back it seems almost funny now), and then again when I called my mom, and then once I got home... just a few days of that. And then, nothing, you just settle down a bit, start doing your research, thank God I have amazing friends who really hold me up, you shift your mindset and that's it... life just keeps moving.

I have to say, since we're talking about the older generation, they can be so strange... even today they won't accept the fact that I actually HAVE this condition. They sent me to six different specialists and everyone confirmed the exact same diagnosis, but they still refuse to believe it's Psoriasis. I don't get it—if I've accepted it, I don't know why they can't 😕

Oh, and someone mentioned earlier that the liver and blood are what matter most... something along those lines. I actually read something similar recently, and all the herbalists I've visited for teas said that basically all skin issues stem from imbalances in the liver and kidneys. So now I'm just chugging this tea meant to regulate my liver and kidneys. It tastes absolutely revolting, but if it works, I'll drink it until the day I die... 🙏

hang in there, everyone

I think all parents act the same way. My mom practically threw money at the problem trying to fix me, and I've tried everything, but I think deep down she just won't accept this illness exists. Whenever I bring up a new treatment, she just yells after me, "Stop it, it's nothing, just change your attitude," and then she just ignores me. I get the feeling she's just lost her strength to fight it and she's done.

Has anyone here actually tried using Dead Sea mud? A few summers back, I used to apply it pretty heavily... we had it brought over in these special containers, vacuum-sealed in foil. You’d let it warm up quite a bit before rubbing it onto the affected areas. To be honest, there wasn't some massive miracle effect, but my skin did feel smoother... the scaling finally cleared up, leaving just a bit of redness behind. The real headache was the mess. Since it's pitch black and incredibly greasy, you end up getting it everywhere. I ended up doing it out in the backyard, but even then, I felt a little self-conscious about what the neighbors might think... like, what on earth is this crazy person doing out there. Back then—about ten years ago—one of those containers cost a decent chunk of change, maybe around $15 for a single kilogram. I'm not even sure if you can still find it like that anymore, or if it's even available to buy... but hey, maybe it helps someone else.

Maria Doyle27 said:The main thing is just accepting that this condition is part of your life now... you just have to deal with it the best way you know how. I know plenty of people who spiraled into such deep depressions that they were basically stuck in a loop, mostly because depression and stress are such massive triggers for Psoriasis. Honestly, it is what it is. You can't change your skin, but you can try to help yourself so things don't get as bad as they could...

I usually just tell everyone I have it, which always surprises my parents. They always make comments like, "You don't have to tell everybody." I don't really care... it's not like I have the plague. It’s just easier for me when I can talk about it openly. It’s just a medical condition like anything else. What actually gets to me is how expensive everything is... everything else, you can live with. 😉

Way to go, Maria. You're doing it right... I don't quite have the nerve to tell everyone yet, but with my close friends, yeah, I do. They’re totally fine with it, and sometimes if they’ve read something new, they even give me tips. That's the way to be. Keeping a positive outlook matters... depression and disappointment just drag you down further, and then the flare-ups get even worse. I've been there... when I had a bad breakout, I honestly thought it was the end of the world. Now that I'm older, I know it's not all doom and gloom. It lives with us, and we live with it. You're doing great, Maria... 😍

Thanks, jadesailor14, for the support... really glad to see we're on the same page about this. 😳 Just wondering... what do you all think?
I just wanted to share my story... maybe brighten someone else's day just by putting it out there. I guess I’ve always been a bit of a sentimental person—which is pretty typical for people dealing with psoriasis, isn't it? Anyway... thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!

Kenneth Williams36 said:Dear Gabi, I was using that Sinalar gel at first, back before I even knew what I was dealing with... but nothing really helped. And now, ever since the hair loss started, things have become absolutely unbearable. I’m peeling off these scales—they aren't just flakes, they're thick layers, several millimeters deep... and then the burning starts. It’s this intense, angry redness that spreads across my entire scalp. After a flare-up like that, I’ll burn through an entire bottle of Belosalic in just a few days, which gives me maybe a week of peace. Then, it all just starts over again from scratch. I'm honestly at a loss... I don't know what else there is left to try...🙏

Belosalic lotion helps me too, though right now it’s just working on my scalp... I have to admit, I haven't heard of anyone using anything else specifically for the hairline area. But let's wait and see, maybe someone else will chime in who knows a bit more than we do... cheers.

It’s been proven a million times over that when it comes to psoriasis, one single treatment isn't going to work for everyone. Every therapy is totally individual... what works for me might not yield the same results for someone else. That's why I always say you should try to keep a positive mindset whenever you start a new treatment plan. Maybe that’s actually why I’ve had such good luck with those Chinese patches... because I truly believe they're going to help me.

Robert Clark2 said:I see this forum, specifically the health sub-forum, as a space where people dealing with these relentless, exhausting illnesses can swap stories about causes, treatments, and everything from mainstream medicine and pharmacology to alternative approaches. It’s a place to highlight how certain drugs work—for better or worse—and the real benefits of holistic methods that many of us have experienced firsthand.
The kind of personal back-and-forth you, Elizabeth Lee49, and a few others engage in... well, that could easily happen through private messages, or even just by using better formatting and a few emojis in your posts.
Since Elizabeth Lee49 spends her time crafting these posts without invading anyone's privacy, my advice would be simple: before jumping into any medication or supplement, actually read the label and learn what it is first. Don't wait until someone asks you about it. For someone as bright as she is—even if she does mention constantly hunting for patches at the pharmacy—it seems odd. If people are always asking for them, maybe they aren't all they're cracked up to be... she'll realize that eventually. Same goes for that Butavat ointment you used, which we only get through certain gray-market channels anyway.
I'm not going to ignore your posts, but I'd ask that you start contributing content that actually interests a wider audience. We need to keep this forum at the high standard it's always been. And a little warning for Elizabeth Lee49: this is a corner for those of us struggling with illness, not a place for people to act out. Maybe try posting in the afternoon instead of when you're feeling restless...
If everyone is so eager to communicate, why hasn't anyone replied to silverjackal20's post? You know, the one where she mentioned being born with psoriasis (my apologies, silverjackal20, for bringing it up here).
Just remember, you aren't the only one here. Let's stick to the rules.
Best,

Look, Robert Clark2, you don't get to decide how this forum runs. I've been through the hell of psoriasis just like everyone else here, and I know exactly how much aggression this disease can trigger in a person. Honestly, it feels like that might be exactly what's happening with you right now. You don't have any right to judge us for talking about life instead of just the disease... because talking about life is actually vital to getting better.
Twenty years ago, the best dermatologist I ever saw, Dr. Schultz in Washington, D.C.,
told me straight up: change your mindset and your outlook on life, and you won't have to deal with psoriasis anymore.
So, I have to wonder if that's actually your issue here. We're going to talk about therapies and the latest research, sure, but we shouldn't forget that we're just human beings made of flesh and blood. Your comments about me aren't necessary. When or how I post isn't your business; there's plenty of room and time for all of us. Just let us write what we feel needs to be said, and you can just read the parts you actually like. As for the patches, they worked for me, but that doesn't mean you have to use them. No one's forcing you. Please, just leave us alone so we can each find our own way to fight this. Aggression and negative energy aren't going to help... believe me.👎

We shouldn't let this stupid psoriasis dictate everything. Let's try to forget about it for a moment and just live our lives like it isn't even there. Anyway, I'll catch up with you guys on Monday. Take care of yourselves...

Kenneth Williams36 said:So, here’s my situation. My main issue is actually my scalp. It's just covered in flakes... plus there's one spot on my chin, my eyebrows, my knee, and my elbow. Everything else is somewhat under control, but I just can't get my scalp to settle down no matter what. Belosalic lotion helped a little bit at first, but now nothing seems to work. Does anyone have any suggestions for the scalp that isn't super greasy? I tried using olive oil and... well, you can imagine how that went. Even though it wasn't great to begin with, once I looked in the mirror, I thought someone had come to visit me because of how oily I looked. Please, I need some advice!

not really about looking better, but... you know, the scalp thing...👍

Besides Belosalic, there's also Sinalar gel, maybe give that a shot.
