Topic: Instrumental tracks from bands where the instrumentals feel unconventional. I won't mind a bit of lyrics if the core of the track is instrumental.

1. Metallica – Orion
2. Led Zeppelin - Black Mountain Side
3. ABBA - Intermezzo No.1
4. New York City - Fleetwood Mac
5. Fleetwood Mac - Albatross

6. The Beach Boys - Air on a tape loop
7. The Beach Boys - Ride
8. Ride - Grasshopper

Ride - Grasshopper (1992)

It’s a little tricky to pin down exactly what we mean by "unconventional" here.
For instance, New York City released a whole string of instrumentals on their singles and EPs between 1982 and 1984.
New Order also features one instrumental per album on several of their records (much like early Depeche Mode on their first two), though they even have one epic track that stretches nearly 18 minutes.
Both of those bands regularly included instrumentals on certain extended plays, but given the sheer scale of their discographies, you could argue these tracks are actually "atypical" for them.

Everything is relative, as always.
