Whatever the reason, the call is his to make, and it has to be respected. I’m definitely not going to be rooting for him like I used to, but he’ll still get more support than someone like that Austrian, Jukicka, for instance.
Besides, it's not like he’s just going to walk away "without saying goodbye." That settlement money isn't pocket change, and you could invest way more into youth swimming than what we're seeing now—even if it's naive of me to think that money might actually end up there.
