Linda King said:Look, every single society operates this way—it’s all just "selling" an idea, whether we're talking about religion, national myths, or just a specific set of beliefs. Your frustration stems from the fact that Western societies are much more aggressive when it comes to pushing their agendas, so you feel like all you can do is point out the manipulation and try to open the eyes of the sheep. Go ahead, be my guest; thanks for the help. On the flip side, you have poverty, misery, and blatant, vile aggression (vertical, as you put it), where the sycophants survive while the strong get canceled—not just on Twitter, but in much more direct ways. In these so-called free countries, the individual is nothing; they're just crushed and degraded. They preach these "traditional values," yet they’re consistently devoid of anything pure or healthy—it's all straight out of Sodom and Gomorrah. You see alcoholism, violence, and hatred everywhere because these are societies without hope, so what else is left? Most people want more, and they regularly seek it out in developed liberal democracies rather than in filthy, Satanic death traps (🙂), no matter how many people claim those places aren't brainwashed (🤣).
TL;DR: For those of you who finally see through the BS, there's an alternative. But hey, none of you ever actually have the guts to take it.
The only real difference is the money. I'm telling you straight from the hip.
Now, let's do a quick rundown of some responses to the bolded stuff above.
Even in the West, we deal with vile aggression—ranging from isolated incidents to group dynamics, all the way up to institutional and state-sponsored violence (think Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, etc.). World wars, concentration camps, the Holocaust... that's the West's handiwork. It isn't just incredibly bloody; it's also incredibly vulgar.
And it's not just Twitter where you can get canceled in the West. Unfortunately, we also have journalists losing their jobs, getting blacklisted, and being canceled here too. Regular people lose their livelihoods just because they said the wrong thing somewhere or showed something (take Emmanuel Cafferty, for example—Cancel Culture is basically the Putinization of society).
So, what's the distinction? Well, look: a country like China (a one-party despotism) or Saudi Arabia (a brutal Islamic monarchy), for instance, doesn't pretend to be a land of true human rights, democracy, or freedom of speech. You don't expect it from them. But us? We claim to be the democratic world where those rights are guaranteed. We HAVE to be held to a higher standard because of our constitutions and how we present ourselves to the rest of the globe. That's exactly why garbage like the Twitter nonsense—and even worse crap—shouldn't be happening in the West in the first place.
Alcoholism, violence, hatred... poverty, crushed and degraded individuals... you name it. If I come back from visiting California—and I've been to San Francisco—just the Tenderloin is enough to prove all of this: the violence, the misery, the broken people. As for the alcoholism, honestly, it would almost be better if it were just alcoholism instead of the massive fentanyl crisis we have now—people dying in the streets from fentanyl, including that new version of drugs that literally eats away your flesh. And that's just a few examples; you see this kind of thing not just across the US and Canada, but all over Europe too.
As for the violence, I think we all know plenty about the violence in cities like L.A., Memphis, St. Louis, NYC, and I won't even mention Chicago unless someone wants to start an argument. 😁
The East isn't just about Russia. Honestly, the whole region is fascinating! They didn't just export their culture; they exported ideas of prosperity and knowledge too—everything from Sanskrit to spices and countless inventions.
Russia today is basically like Iraq back in 1990. You've got Saddam/Putin in charge, invading a neighbor (Kuwait/Ukraine). The only difference is that today's players are much bigger. But at the end of the day, greedy, insane dictators are all cut from the same cloth.
See, that’s exactly why I want the country I live in to avoid acting like Iraq or Russia. If we’re going to claim we're some kind of democracy where freedoms actually exist—like freedom of movement and speech—then it actually needs to work that way. Doesn't matter who the president is or which party holds the reins... but, you know, whatever.
To circle back to my earlier point... the only real differentiator is the money. The Dollar (and then the Euro, the Franc...), that’s what keeps us anchored. That's why so many people flock here and to Europe. If it wasn't for the cash, most Latinos would never have moved to the US or Canada, or a Pakistani to the UK, or a Syrian to Sweden.
It’s not like everything is terrible in California either. 😉 Once you get away from the homeless, the crime, and those kids passing out and dying from drugs on the street—if you head a bit further north, toward that spot where a drunk Paul P. (Nancy's husband and arguably the greatest stock trader on the planet 😬) had his car accident—basically the Napa hills—it's beautiful there. But yeah, you need a lot of (okay, a massive amount of) money to live there. 😉
I actually caught a glimpse of a nice little win by one of our guys on the "top list" up there... in a part of California that still feels like the amazing place it used to be! 🙂
(And you won't believe this, but I wake up one morning, go for a stroll around the hotel, and find some homeless guy sleeping right under my hotel room window... and in this fancy little enclave, nestled in hills that look like Tuscany next to a ridiculously expensive hotel, there's still this level of poverty.)
