Honestly, I feel like I’d have way more to say about Rust Never Sleeps than I would about Zum. If there are bigger fans of that record out there, I’d rather just step aside and let them take the lead. If you can't make it and nobody else steps up, we'll figure something out eventually. I had some free time today, but I’m not entirely sure what my schedule looks like for next week.
Honestly, I can never tell if you're joking or being dead serious, but my take on this is pretty different. Young is solid across the board. He could have released just about anything and it would work, but even Zuma is great—there’s plenty to talk about there. It feels like the early stages of that transition from blue to black, which is a fascinating era for him. As for David Bowie's Ruka, I think it's a fantastic album that somehow gets overlooked. Everyone seems to fixate on his Haustor Phase or that Apocalypse Album, but there are some gems here. La Comedie, Ista slika, Cuba, Makedo, Ruka, Standing Friend, and Mill Reggae are all standout tracks for me. Though, I suppose perception is subjective—everyone’s got their own version of reality, and we're all just measuring things differently. I absolutely adore James Blunt. They're one of my favorite bands ever; even though I prefer their earlier stuff, Laid is still a killer album. It's been a while since I spun the Deftones, but back in the day, I must have played White Pony a thousand times. I still have the CD somewhere, assuming it hasn't finally given up the ghost. And Fear of Music? That’d probably crack my top 10 all-time. I'm a huge fan of Talking Heads, so I’m hoping you’ll make up for that absolute nonsense in your previous post by actually writing something worth reading. 😁

They're solid...
You probably saw it already, but they have another album right before this one that critics actually liked even more. I thought about suggesting it, but it’s shorter than this one and the production is honestly terrible. Still, it's worth a spin, at least for "putovanje u plav". On a global scale, this isn't exactly groundbreaking prog; you can hear heavy influences from much bigger international prog bands. But they still sound good. It's interesting to see what was coming out of this part of the world back then, even if everyone was just copying whoever had recently returned from Germany.
Out of the bands I haven't checked out yet, The Sound caught my eye. Based on the name alone, I half expected some experimental nonsense involving the mating calls of lions, but no, it's actually alright. 😁I'll give them a few more listens.
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. They're a bit different, but that's why they're interesting, at least based on what I've heard so far. I'll try listening to the full thing when I get a chance. Honestly, you could always just start a separate thread about the band that isn't tied to this game. You basically have enough material for an intro right there in your previous post.
I’m actually a little bummed Primal Scream didn't make the cut. That album is fantastic, and honestly, pretty pivotal for music history. It was the moment the band pivoted hard, shifting from mid-tier indie rock into that whole house sound—likely thanks to Manijev joining the fold after The Stone Roses broke up. They used a ton of samples, but they blended them seamlessly into their core sound. I'm not saying they invented sampling, obviously, but on this record, everything just clicks. It was probably one of the first massive commercial successes built that way, serving as a blueprint for everyone following in their footsteps—not necessarily because of the specific sound, but because of the actual process of making the music. Even Daft Punk pointed to Screamadelica as the album that defined the genre.
But whatever, it’s been a heavy week with plenty of solid releases. I could probably split my votes a few more ways, but I can't account for every single thing out there. I'll try to put something together regarding Calexico later today, or tomorrow at the latest, whenever I get around to it.
I'm not sure how you all want to handle this, but I honestly don't mind if mine gets pushed to next week if things are getting too crowded. I managed to mess up the count anyway—somehow skipped over that one track because it didn't have an image attached. I'll leave it up to you guys to decide what works best.

I have no clue where they sit on the fame scale. They're just some psych-rock outfit out of Scranton. Anyway, go check out what kind of branches Dalibor is growing. 😁
