Best dark comedies? in Movies ·
I actually really enjoy them. They’re pretty much the only type of comedy that still lands for me. That one with Frasier is top-tier.
Here are a few movies that probably won't even cross anyone's mind:

The Death of Stalin
Naked
Short Cuts
Happiness
The Little Death
To Die For
Mary and Max
Pain & Gain

Most stuff by the Coen brothers, Wes Anderson, or Jarmusch would fit this vibe too.

Quick Google trick

If you're looking to swap out that default background color,

1. 1. Click The ≡ Menu Button and choose Options (you'll find the menu button in the top right corner)
2. Hit the Content icon.
3. Select the Colors button.
4. Find the Background section, click the color swatch, and grab whatever color you want.
So, how are you actually sending the image to the TV? Are you going with second screen only, extended, or just duplicating the display? If I were you, I'd try "second screen only." Duplicating can be a total headache when your monitor and the TV have different aspect ratios. It just gets messy.

Alright, thanks for clearing that up.

On another note, do these miners even factor in electricity costs? A rig like that can pull an insane amount of power, and there's no guarantee they'll actually break even. Or maybe these people just have access to dirt-cheap electricity somehow.
I was just thinking—right now, in Springfield and the surrounding areas, the power is basically free. It’s not exactly classy or ethical, but someone could really make a killing off it. You find some half-destroyed shack or a tiny fixer-upper, cram 50 GPUs inside that are worth more than the house itself, and just mine for free.

Look, Bitcoin has a hard cap on its total supply. Once it hits that limit, no more coins get minted. Aren't we basically right at that threshold already?

Edit: My bad, we aren't. There's still about 7 years left.😁

Logistics are a mess right now, which probably plays a part. Though oil prices are sitting pretty low, so that ought to bring costs down eventually.

Why?

Things have gone completely off the rails. Back in late March, I picked up a GTX1660Super for $669. Now they're pushing past $333 if you can even find one in stock.

Here’s another take on Sunday Morning from that Velvet Underground record that almost took the top spot. Massive Attack never really touched 😁

The whole concert is solid, assuming you haven't had your fill of James yet.

I was actually aiming for their early 80s era on purpose. By the time they hit Goldman Sachs, they were already massive. This live album only had a tiny print run because they were struggling with funding, so it’s become a bit of a holy grail for fans. I initially thought about picking Stutter, but this set pulls tracks from both of their first albums, making it a solid retrospective of their early years. Some of the older stuff isn't as widely known, which makes it worth a listen—there are some gems in there. They sound different here; more of a folk vibe, a bit rawer and more original before the heavy production took over. You can also link the whole thing back to the Madchester scene, the Hacienda era, and that entire movement. It’s similar to how people talk about the Stone Roses, but this specific period of American music is so fascinating it could easily fill several books.

There have been weeks where we saw fewer than 10 albums. Honestly, why shouldn't some weeks see more than 10 if there’s enough interest?

Taste, smell, and musical taste are especially hit hard.
Basically, once someone starts diving into weird experimental albums... they're straight into self-isolation. 😁

Personally, I’ve got Ænima at the top of my list, followed by Undertow, then Lateralus. I don't get why you aren't feeling Ænima. There are easily five or six absolute masterpieces on there.

Harley Poe - Satan, Sex and No Regrets

Sex and No Regrets genre: horror folk (punk), black comedy
Year: 2012

1. Still Here 01:22
2. Everybody Knows My Name 03:06
3. Ima Killer 03:53
4. Father McKee 02:44
5. Transvestites Can Be Cannibals Too 04:36
6. The Hearse Song 02:46

8. That Time of the Month 04:17
9. I Am the Living Dead 03:25
10. Vampire's Night Out 04:12
11. Ouija 03:40

I decided to go with a concept album today, even though it'll probably struggle to gain traction this week given how many all-time classics you guys have been posting lately.
Anyway, Harley Poe are basically morbid poets wrapped in a folk sound. Their lyrics feel simple on the surface, but they avoid the cheap, tacky tropes most bands in this genre fall into. There’s plenty of irony, sarcasm, and social commentary if you don't take everything at face value. Sound-wise, people often compare them to Violent Femmes; it’s smooth and easy to listen to. If you dive in, pay attention to the lyrics—that’s where the real point is.

Are we doing some kind of themed Halloween special week, or is everyone just doing their own thing?

There are just so many covers of this track out there.

I honestly thought the second half was Heart by Stublić, but after giving it a listen, I'm not convinced. It doesn't quite hit the same way. Maybe it's some old rock band like Aerosmith or something—or maybe I'm just losing my mind.
