Where's the best place to buy a laptop?

I'm just trying to figure out where the best deals are hiding. A buddy of mine is looking to build a PC and asked for my take. We both know our way around hardware specs, so picking the right parts isn't the issue here. When I put my own rig together, I spent ages scrolling through Amazon—though I think I eventually pulled the trigger at Micro Center, but that was a while ago. I'm sure there are certain retailers known for being pricey and others where you can actually snag a bargain. I figured I'd ask around here for some specific names of those budget-friendly spots, just to save myself from wasting more hours hunting on Amazon.
