I was watching some college highlights last night and it got me thinking about how much weight these young athletes carry on their shoulders before they've even hit their prime. It feels like the narrative is written for them before they even step onto the field.

Every time a massive talent shows up, the media starts building this inevitable trajectory. It's like they aren't allowed to just grow or change their minds; they have to follow the script of "superstar success" or "the big departure." I see it in other fields too, where people are expected to hit certain milestones by a certain age, and if they don't, or if they decide to stay put instead of chasing the next big thing, it's treated like a tragedy or a failure of ambition.

I honestly think there’s a certain kind of maturity in knowing when to stick with what you've built, even when the world is screaming at you to move on to the next level of fame or money. It's a weird kind of pressure to live up to a hype machine that never stops running.

Do you guys think it's better for these players to ride the wave while it's hot, or is there more value in staying loyal to the program that brought them up?

Is there anyone currently infected who can provide a firsthand account of the symptoms, the progression of the illness, and what the testing process actually looks like?

28-year-old woman, coastal area, near San Diego. Looking for someone to talk to, get to know, or just chat on the phone—honestly, calling is preferred since I have zero interest in typing. If we happen to be in the same vicinity, maybe we can meet up in person. Gender is irrelevant to me. I am not particularly witty or entertaining, so I am certainly not expecting anyone else to be either. Have a pleasant evening.

Could be anemia, or perhaps some cardiac issues? Have you had an EKG or an echocardiogram yet?

Flu symptoms in Health ·
Karen Sanchez19 said:With the flu, a high fever—anything north of 102—NEVER lasts seven days straight unless there's a secondary infection setting in. Usually, it's just 2 or 3 days before the fever breaks and drops significantly.

I have never once sat with a 102+ fever for seven days straight.

Instead, look at me right now:

Everything aches, I feel completely drained, and even walking up a flight of stairs feels like a marathon, yet my temperature has hovered at a measly 99.5°F for two days. My nose and throat are perfectly clear, and there's no cough. Hmm...

Perhaps this isn't the flu, but something else entirely.
