Thanks. 👍

He’s still young. He'll learn, I guess. 😁 If my memory serves, I think I managed to get about twenty laps in with my grandpa last year. 😁 He’s got some potential, I guess. It just remains to be seen if he can actually pull it off. 🙂
He’ll always have that DJ Khaled career to fall back on. With those eyes, I guess he'll probably be a hit with the ladies. 🤣

😍 I guess James still has plenty left in the tank, he's only 21, after all. 😍

Don't mess with Grandpa🙂

It’s probably hard enough for him at his age, so I guess it just isn't fair to poke fun at Grandpa or his fans😳

I honestly don't get why anyone would🤷

Let the kids have their fun☕

Maria Lopez said:Nobody answered my question about what happens with Webber's gearbox :D🙂

Starting this year, the gearbox has to last five races in a row, not four. So, technically, Mark wouldn't be able to swap his out until Germany. I suppose it's unclear what the penalties are if he changes it earlier🤷

And we occasionally catch them at Budweiser, too.

To be honest, I could always go for a beer—if not now, then maybe once we get to Belgium. 😉

I’m usually here for every race, but I missed yesterday because I had guests over and went for a walk on Sunday. Looking back at the replay, I guess it was probably the smart move, especially since even Lewis Hamilton had a rough one. 🤣 I guess the BBC folks were my favorites; they kept harping on about some supposed rivalry between Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel that never actually existed. 😂 Alonso was fighting that car the whole time, whereas Vettel made it look easy. It seems pretty obvious that Vettel and his Red Bull team are in a league of their own; this season basically boils down to a fight for second place. ☕

It feels like Ferrari is getting better with every single race. I guess they're finally finding their rhythm. 👍

McLaren just looked out of place on this track, and Mercedes was exactly what you'd expect. 🙄

Grandpa and Pastor Maldonado really didn't hold back, did they? 😁

Kudos to Jaime. I’m honestly really happy for him, especially after those BBC reporters grilled him with all those questions about whether he even has a future at Toro Rosso. 👍
A little sweetheart. 😍 I can't really watch videos through this link. I guess I'll just have to take your word for it.

Silverstone should be pretty interesting. I guess we just hope the rain stays away so Grandpa doesn't start pulling his usual stunts again. 😁

darkmarlin16 said:or getting a stopwatch during the race😬

Anything is possible, as long as the car actually starts 😁

I wonder if anyone could actually get some salt on Vettel's tail ☕ specifically on the rear wing 😁
stormybadger8 said:True, having Newey’s car definitely made his life a whole lot easier.👍

Even so, Horner’s been pulling tactical moves quite well so far.
Keeping Vettel and Webber from burning through their final set of tires in Q3 and making sure they didn't charge like idiots for that points advantage—which isn't even as huge as people claim—was smart work.😉

If he'd let them pull that kind of nonsense, the car wouldn't have saved him; he would've trashed the race before it even started.☕

On that front, he's actually been solid this season. It honestly surprises me that his strategy is holding its own against the McLaren crew.

Red Bull is starting to remind me of Ferrari during the Schumacher, Todt, and Brawn era, with one little catch:😁 as long as you have top-tier talent, everything runs smooth, but they might slip up just because things have become a bit predictable.😁
That's why I'm rooting for some chaos—maybe a technical failure hits one of the Red Bull drivers, Alonso finds a way forward, and Maldonado pulls an upset to mess up everyone's plans.😁 And Grandpa on the podium, obviously.🙂
Lewis doesn't look all that happy, I guess 😁

Nice job, Arthur Hill2. You held your own out there—shows everyone you've still got it 😛

Congrats to Vettel 🎉
It’s pretty funny how they just sit there in the luxury boxes waiting for instructions on what to do next, kind of like some little kid 🤦
I’m not exactly a fan of Alonso, but man, that was a hell of a start 🙏

Absolute legend. 😍😍😍😍
I guess Red Bull’s total dominance is starting to get a little old ☕
even if someone like Jessica Ramos12 was happy about a pole position, they'd probably just wish for a bit of variety instead ☕
mistybear87 said:Honestly, it's true, isn't it?😛 😛 😛

🤣
mistybear87 said:Plus, Williams is bringing him in. They gave him a run during testing in Turkey, but he ended up messing up the bodywork. It seems like they've finally sorted that out now...

Yeah, well, if I hadn't mentioned it, you wouldn't even know.😁
I guess Pirelli is bringing some new tires for the race in the US that are supposed to last longer, after testing them out in Turkey. We'll see how they hold up 🙂

gentlebear47 said:I seriously cannot believe there are still people out there trying to argue that Nick isn't absolutely dominating a guy like Grandpa. 🤦

Last year was basically just a total blowout, but this year? It’s getting even more ridiculous!

Nobody's actually disputing Nick's dominance over Grandpa; we all watch the races and see what's happening on the track. 😁 But I don't think anyone can claim Nick is the better driver either—he hasn't really proven himself yet. 🙄
Keith Rodriguez27 put it perfectly. Grandpa seems to have lost his fire and his drive to race, and you can see it in his attitude and his driving. Between that, a car that isn't competitive right now, and some questionable calls, he just can't get ahead. I know he's not everyone's favorite, but the guy is a seven-time world champion and one of the best to ever sit in an F1 car, which is undeniable. It feels like people were just waiting for him to struggle so they could jump on the bandwagon, but the best way to shut them up would be to see him back on the podium before he finally hangs it up. 🎉
Keith Rodriguez27 said:Honestly, watching Schumi go through this is just painful. I get it—people have their opinions, calling him dirty or unfair or whatever, and yeah, some folks probably get a kick out of seeing him struggle like this. But if I were in their shoes? Man, I’d feel terrible for a guy who conquered everything there was to conquer in his career, only to spend these last couple of seasons spiraling like this.

It feels like he's just drowning in frustration. It isn't even about the car being a lemon; it's the fact that his younger teammate is absolutely smoking him on track. I mean, does anything actually change during the spring or summer stretch leading up to Singapore? Honestly, it would surprise me more if he actually showed up on the grid next year than if he just pulls the plug a few races before the season ends. That third scenario seems like the most likely outcome. He didn't come back to fight for 12th place—scraping together a point here and there against guys like Renault's Vitaly Petrov, Adrian Sutil, or Buemi. He came back to be right up there in the standings, if not staring down a podium finish.

What a disaster. Just a pathetic end for a legend and an absolute F1 icon.

🙏
wiredtiger8 said:Yeah... but I don't even see the drive in him, which is what makes this whole thing feel so illogical to me...

...for instance, during that last race in Turkey, his move to "close the door" on Vitaly Petrov was half-hearted at best... he didn't even defend properly, and when Petrov lunged down the inside, he didn't react fast enough... it looked incredibly unfocused for him, almost like he just didn't care.

Then again... if he lands on the podium or somehow pulls off a win, I’m certain that would be enough to "bring him back to life."

exactly 👍
Nathan Jones98 said:The world’s gonna end before Grandpa finally wakes up—honestly, his only shot at winning right now would be pulling an Indianapolis 2005 move, and even then, he's got Nico Rosberg breathing down his neck.

I'm not really sure why anyone thinks Rosberg is better than him, other than being younger.😁
Coming back after four years while all these new kids are out there... I don't know, you have to respect that. He probably still has plenty left in the tank, but like hollowdriver18 said, if he isn't feeling the spark or enjoying the racing anymore, he's not going to get much done.
