Hey there!
My PC is about five years old now, and the monitor has probably seen ten years of service. Lately, the resolution keeps jumping around on me. One day I turn it on and everything looks fine, but the next time, the image is stretched out and all my icons are massive... It’s been happening more often lately; maybe once every ten times it actually boots up looking normal, while the other nine times it's just a mess.
I'm planning on picking up a new monitor, but I'm wondering if this resolution headache is just because the old monitor is dying, or if it could be something else entirely? I really don't want to drop money on a new screen only to run into the exact same issue. I'm not exactly an expert on this stuff, so if anyone knows what might be going on, I'd love some help. Thanks!

I mean, it seems like anyone could just walk into their doctor's office and claim they were a close contact because they know some coworker or neighbor with COVID, right? And suddenly, you've got a few days off...

I’m totally lost on this too. A colleague told me they didn't even track any names—like, nobody asked them for a list of contacts. They said I’d have to be the one to proactively call my own doctor and report that I was around someone positive. Which basically means I could easily just stay quiet and pretend nothing happened. On the flip side, you've got people who can just say they were an exposure contact and score ten days off at home.
Got it. Thanks, mellowskipper.
A colleague mentioned he had to provide some contact info, though I'm not entirely sure how that works. He listed me as a contact since we were working side-by-side for the last two days. I have no clue what the protocol is here. If he submitted everything online, am I just sitting in some database now, or should I expect a call from someone else? I'd really rather not show up to work tomorrow only to have the local police show up to check if I'm actually under quarantine.
I’ve been in close contact with someone who tested positive. I haven't received any official notification from the CDC telling me I need to quarantine; they just told me I'd likely be listed as a close contact. Does the CDC actually reach out to people, or is it enough if the person who tested positive tells me I should stay home? My boss is saying I should just show up to work unless I get an official call. 🤦 How am I supposed to know if I'm on some contact tracing list? You never know how things are being handled behind the scenes...

I'm with you on preferring Bohemian Rhapsody, though this one wasn't half bad either, especially since I wasn't expecting a musical...
It’s kind of strange, because when I was watching the trailers, it didn't really feel like a musical at all. 🙂
Anyway, I actually really enjoyed the movie. Those two hours just flew by—it was engaging, colorful... I loved that they went with a fantasy vibe instead of just making it a straight documentary about his career. 👍
They walked away with quite a collection of awards last night. 👍 It’s a bit of a bummer that Lanthimos didn't take home one too, though...
I really loved it. It wasn't boring in the slightest and the time just flew by... Honestly, it felt like the most grounded Lanthimos film I've ever seen.
I’m so happy Rami took home the win. He stepped into such a demanding role and his performance was just incredible.
I honestly didn't see a win coming for Bohemian Rhapsody. Don't get me wrong, I think the movie is great and I'm thrilled they won, but I really thought A Star Is Born would sweep because the media has been pushing it as the heavy favorite for basically every award this season.
So, seeing both Rami and the film pick up Golden Globes this morning was a total shocker... 👍😁
This is just awful! I was watching the news on CNN, but I can't believe they didn't even mention the passing of those veterans, even though they had a whole segment on the strikes happening at Times Square...
