Some interesting moves by a certain Memphian, or as they put it, "do many small things, for they can change the world."

Terry Bishop7 said:Look, the guy made a fair point: stop performing for the public. We aren't here for them, and frankly, I couldn't care less what they think of us. If you actually wanted to build something constructive, you could have started a thread like, "Hey, I've got this, and I know who needs it—does anyone have anything to contribute?" It’s like when people were raising money for local charities back in the day; there are plenty of folks across America who could really use a hand, whether it's furniture or something else entirely. But just posting photos of some fan group holding up a banner? That's not really doing much.

I get where you're coming from, I really do. But to me, this is interesting because it acts as a sort of internal motivator for us (after all, it's the fans looking at this PDF, not some corporate execs or politicians). Plus, it could serve that purpose you mentioned—as a call to action for something tangible.

Personally, I'm an active fan, and any group that pulls off a clever, original, or genuinely engaging stunt earns my respect—provided they're hitting all the other marks of a solid organization.

That’s why I thought it would be cool to hash out some experiences here. But hey, if "fan culture" isn't considered high-brow enough for this forum, no big deal.👍

It isn’t about the advertising; it’s about us.
A little mutual encouragement goes a long way. In my opinion, this kind of thing really proves how strong this group can be when we pull together.

Take this great initiative out of San Diego, for example.

We spend so much time whining about how nobody gets us, how the world is out to get us, and how people just don't "get our vibe," yet we barely lift a finger to show the side of fan culture that the mainstream media loves to ignore—the good stuff.

Even here on this forum, we’ve got entire threads dedicated to labeling people "bad fans." It feels like a setup for anyone who shows up to this board with a preconceived notion that supporter groups are the biggest problem in American society. Meanwhile, we don't have a single decent thread highlighting all the humanitarian work being done.

I know most supporter groups are pretty active, and honestly, I think showing off this kind of stuff proves how strong a group actually is. We should be highlighting the charity drives, the blood donations, the positive messages that have nothing to do with sports, cleaning up neighborhoods, or helping out local preschools... just so everyone else knows what we're capable of and to push each other to do more.

I’m going to take a Screen capture of exactly what I’m looking at right now.
So, technically it isn't an image file, but it's a snapshot of my current view—if that makes any sense. I know, sounds a bit dim, but you get what I mean.

And I mean this generally for anything online. Like, if I'm browsing a site and just want to grab a shot of what's on my screen, save it to my PC, and then upload that image to a post later (I already know how to do that part).
