Fan-led charity drives

We spend so much time whining about how nobody gets us, how the world is out to get us, and how people just don't "get our vibe," yet we barely lift a finger to show the side of fan culture that the mainstream media loves to ignore—the good stuff.

Even here on this forum, we’ve got entire threads dedicated to labeling people "bad fans." It feels like a setup for anyone who shows up to this board with a preconceived notion that supporter groups are the biggest problem in American society. Meanwhile, we don't have a single decent thread highlighting all the humanitarian work being done.

I know most supporter groups are pretty active, and honestly, I think showing off this kind of stuff proves how strong a group actually is. We should be highlighting the charity drives, the blood donations, the positive messages that have nothing to do with sports, cleaning up neighborhoods, or helping out local preschools... just so everyone else knows what we're capable of and to push each other to do more.

Forget this thread. Fans aren't a political party; they don't need to buy votes or win over the public. There’s no need for advertising. Knowing the mindset of Americans and certain fan groups, this topic will just turn into a playground for idiots to argue about which group contributed more within two posts. Completely pointless.

A little mutual encouragement goes a long way. In my opinion, this kind of thing really proves how strong this group can be when we pull together.

He made a fair point—you should probably just keep this private. We aren't here for their sake, and frankly, I couldn't care less what they think of us. If you actually wanted to be constructive, you could have started a thread along the lines of, "Hey, I’m donating this, does anyone know who needs it?" Like when people were raising funds for Simic, there are plenty of folks across America who could really use a hand, whether it’s furniture or something else entirely... rather than just posting pictures of some fan group holding up a banner, if you catch my drift.

I get where you're coming from, I really do. But to me, this is interesting because it acts as a sort of internal motivator for us (after all, it's the fans looking at this PDF, not some corporate execs or politicians). Plus, it could serve that purpose you mentioned—as a call to action for something tangible.

Personally, I'm an active fan, and any group that pulls off a clever, original, or genuinely engaging stunt earns my respect—provided they're hitting all the other marks of a solid organization.

I believe this thread could serve as a useful way to highlight positive contributions. Of course, the goal isn't to perform just to get applause, but we can't simply adopt an "every man for himself" mentality. We live in a modern society where mutual support matters, and even recent federal legislation reflects that shift toward collective responsibility...
For now, we'll let the topic stand to see if it proves to be constructive or not.

Those who actually show up at the stadium will see the messages firsthand, along with the public reaction. I had something else in mind, but it doesn't matter much now...

Of course I don't care about the general public's opinion. When the next major piece of legislation is passed, say two years from now, maybe someone will chime in and suggest they aren't all bad...

You know what’s been weighing on me lately? It's the sheer injustice of it all—the lies, the deception... there is so much evidence out there. I mean, if this stuff actually hit the mainstream news outlets or national TV networks, people would finally see the truth. Honestly, even if we just manage to get someone some much-needed help through this, it'll already be a job well done.
