I did a little digging regarding that small bump right at the base of my nose. It turns out this is perfectly normal; one simply needs to massage the area and it will eventually subside. 👍
Grace Cruz87, how long has it been for you? And tell me, do you have that little bump on the bridge of your nose?
I have a feeling this is perfectly normal—or rather, it still falls under the category of swelling. It’s been a month since the surgery, and micro-swelling can linger for several months. It isn't a crisis, but I can certainly see it and feel it under my fingers. That is why I am waiting to hear back from my doctors to see how they are reading things.
Pepi Svijetlić, tama! Ladies, where are you? Give me an update!
Do any of you still have that bump on the bridge of your nose? Because I definitely do.
Carol Peterson71 said:Book, I haven't been on the forum much lately (finished my vacation and had to head back to work).
The dark circles under my eyes are still there—I'm not even using foundation anymore because it doesn't hide anything, so why bother?🙈 I look like I’ve gone ten rounds in a boxing ring.🙂 🤣
Plus, there's swelling all over my face, especially right at the bridge of my nose, though it fluctuates throughout the day. It’s fine until about noon, then it starts to subside slowly.🙄
Maybe my workload is part of the problem? I work in accounting, so I'm sitting in the exact same position for nearly nine hours a day.🤷 Or maybe not. Only time will tell.🙂
I haven't tried lymphatic drainage yet, but I'm planning to start this Monday!
How are you doing? Did the lymphatic drainage actually help you?
Write back soon!👋

I'm not sure if that lymphatic drainage works. I was supposed to go for my second session today, but I took on a new job and had to cancel. The dark circles are gone, but I still have some swelling at the bridge of my nose. The woman who performed the massage told me I should massage myself for at least five minutes every single day. Here is how she said to do it: apply cream to the bridge of your nose and gently massage upward with your fingers, but for everything else—like the nose and the area around it—massage downward. That’s what I’ve been doing.
Laura Castillo7, I hear you loud and clear. I can see you're spiraling, and honestly, I get it. I was in the exact same headspace before. But listen to me: it really isn't as catastrophic as it feels right now.
Laura Castillo7 said:But she told me I should bring my test results early so they could review everything beforehand.

Are you really expected to show up with everything on the actual day of surgery? That wasn't my experience at all. Since I went through a private clinic, there was zero issue regarding pending lab work. She simply faxed the results directly to the surgical center the very same day once everything was processed. The reports clearly stated I was cleared for the procedure.
Laura Castillo7 said:Hey Jesse Taylor7, how long did you wait before having your surgery? My doctor told me three weeks, but in that timeframe, I could easily catch six different bugs...

That is precisely why I went in a day early. 😉
Laura Castillo7 said:I honestly have no clue what I'm allergic to. How am I even supposed to find out? Should I be looking into getting some tests done?
Oh, and did you go through a hospital for your testing? Do you need an appointment for an EKG? What happens if they tell me I have to wait two months?

As for the allergies, I assume they’d just refer you for testing to figure it out. Personally, I just went to a private clinic and had everything done in about half an hour.
Laura Castillo7 said:Jesse Taylor7, how did you feel right after surgery when it was time to head home? Were you doing alright? Was there much bleeding? I’m honestly torn on whether I should stay overnight or just get out of there. The doctor says it isn't necessary, but the nurse is suggesting staying put. Now I have no idea what to do.

You’ll have a gauze pad under your nose that needs changing constantly, because you'll see a bit of blood on it every three or four hours—at least for those first two days. As far as the bleeding goes, that's just part of the process. When I was ready to leave, I actually felt fine. The breathing issues through my mouth didn't bother me much during the day, though it was a nightmare at night; I’d wake up with my mouth feeling completely parched. Both my nurse and the doctor told me there was zero reason to stay overnight. I didn't experience any major setbacks, but I do know of another girl who had surgery the same day and chose to stay—she ended up dealing with massive nausea.
Laura Castillo7 said:I asked about those little bumps; apparently, it just depends on how your tissue reacts during the healing process. Let's hope for the best there. The rest is up to him.
Did you actually speak with the anesthesiologist before the surgery? I mean, surely I won't just wake up halfway through the procedure, right? That thought absolutely terrifies me.

Yes, you meet with the anesthesiologist before the operation. It is mandatory! You need to be absolutely certain about every single medication you have ever taken in your life. More importantly, you must know if you have any allergies, because that is where the real danger lies—you don't want to find out you're allergic to the anesthesia while you're already under. I found myself in a bit of a bind because I've barely taken any medicine in my entire life, so I had no idea if I was allergic to anything at all.
Laura Castillo7 said:I went in for my consultation today, and it was great! He explained everything and promised I'll have a gorgeous nose. I really hope he's right. I scheduled the surgery for March 3rd, and honestly, the waiting is going to drive me insane. That's definitely the worst part. And what if there's a massive wait even once I actually get there? I don't know if I can handle the suspense...
My only real fear is the aftermath—you know, those weird lumps and other complications people talk about. I just hope nothing shows up.
How are things going for you?

I’m glad he gave you such a confidence boost regarding the results. Personally, I found everything he told me to be spot on (though, being as cautious and skeptical as I am, I took everything with a grain of salt 🙂). Don't assume you'll be stuck in a waiting room forever, either. The hardest part is just dealing with the anxiety before they give you the anti-anxiety meds. Once you have those, everything feels manageable. As for me, I still have a little swelling at the bridge of my nose. No lumps or anything like that so far; everything looks perfectly smooth. I couldn't be happier 😉.
Laura Castillo7 said:Jesse Taylor7, you went home the very same day after the surgery, right? What time was that exactly? And did someone actually wait for you the entire time?

Hey, did you make it to the consultation? What was your take on it? I walked into the clinic at 10:30 AM, so I definitely kept you waiting until about 11:30 AM 🙂. I believe my procedure started around 12:30 or 1:00 PM. I finally headed out around 4:00 PM. My husband dropped me off, went to work, and then came back to pick me up.
Tamic book! How are things? I just got back from my facial lymphatic drainage session. Honestly, my girlfriend gave me a thirty-minute face massage—which feels absolutely incredible, by the way—but then she decided to zap me with some microcurrent device to "drain" everything. So, yeah, that’s my version of lymphatic drainage today:-). The swelling under my eyes has finally gone down, though I’m still looking a little puffy.
Carol Peterson71 said:I’m not seeing any redness, but my nose is definitely feeling a bit swollen (it isn't a huge deal though)! I was actually just wondering about the stitches—did they hurt? For me, nothing has felt painful yet!
There aren't any drainage clinics in my town—it's terrible.😵
When are you heading in?

The stitches just fall out on their own, and then you can easily pick them up with a Q-tip while you're cleaning everything up (it doesn't hurt at all). I'll be going in for my drainage appointment tomorrow or the day after, so I'll let you know how it goes.
Carol Peterson71 said:I can still see a bit of swelling—well, I see the area around it anyway—and there's still some purple discoloration under my eyes. But honestly, the most annoying part is that my upper lip feels numb and won't move right. I have this desperate urge to laugh, but I just can't. 🙄
How are things on your end?

I’ve got swelling right under my right eye. Some slight discoloration under both eyes, too. My cheeks are all red, especially on the right side—maybe it's just the bruising settling in? 🤷 My lip feels fine, but I can't even smile properly. It feels like something is going to shift out of place, which is incredibly unsettling. Can you imagine? Just the other day, I actually pulled a stitch out of my left nostril. I called the clinic, and the nurse had the nerve to tell me it was perfectly normal and that if it were too early, it wouldn't have come loose. Unbelievable. Are you planning on getting drainage done?
Hey Carol Peterson71, I just got back from a massive shopping spree in Vienna (yesterday was the final day of the clearance sales), and let me tell you, my feet are absolutely killing me. Maybe it’s just the exhaustion from all that walking. Anyway, is your face looking a bit flushed to you too?
I spent the entire day yesterday outdoors—day 12 of this whole ordeal—and now there is some swelling right under my left eye. Earlier, the area felt red and somewhat warm to the touch. I woke up this morning to find the swelling has actually gotten worse. Is it even normal for an inflammation like this to flare up so aggressively again?
jadecrane3 said:I went right after taking the bandage off—it had been eleven days by then because I was heading in for a job screening... and then I went again the very next day because I had another interview scheduled......

Great. I'll be doing the same tomorrow.
steelangler88 said:Honestly, I’m at my wit's end!
He was actually my top choice from the start...!!! I have no idea why I second-guessed myself at the last minute, and now look where I am.
But fine. Whatever.
I've still got this lump on one side after the surgery, so I'll have to go back in because that thing just won't budge.

steelangler88, do you think this lump is a medical oversight or just a stroke of bad luck?
