Yes, and this girl I know had general anesthesia for her procedure. But honestly, she told me she wouldn't even touch local anesthesia because she's terrified she'll hear something happening. It's irrational, isn't it? Usually, they just use local for minor tweaks, like a quick nose tip adjustment, but for anything else, it's full general anesthesia.
It escapes my comprehension why Glumicic continues to utilize general anesthesia when a potent local option would clearly be safer for the patient. I can only assume it’s simply because they find it more convenient for themselves.
It’s been about ten days since my surgery. Ideally, one shouldn't be taking any medications at all—at least, that's what I was told during my consultation. Has anyone else had their procedure pushed back because of a common cold?
Ten days out from surgery, you're supposed to cut out all the Advil, aspirin, and basically anything containing salicylates. Does that mean taking Tylenol is actually okay?
If you take a look at the before-and-after gallery on Glumicic's website, you'll notice that not every nose ends up looking stubby. There are some truly stunning results in there. Then again, most celebrities seem to have that slightly lifted tip. He told me that the final call rests entirely with me, though he did point out that you can never guarantee a result will be an exact, 100% match to what was discussed. I actually get where they're coming from on that. When you go under the knife (ugh!), you have to realize that every surgeon is working within certain anatomical limits. They don't have infinite creative freedom; they just try to get as close to the target as the biology allows.
I’ve had consultations with two different surgeons. One was with Glumicic, and the other was with Džepina. To be perfectly honest, my nose looks better than the one done by the surgeon at Džepina's office, but can we really judge a doctor based on a single nose? Of course not; every procedure is unique. Ultimately, I decided to go with Glumicic because his specialization is facial reconstruction, whereas Džepina seems more focused on breast augmentations and other body work. Brenda Reed3, were you actually a patient of Ivo Džepina? You know, he has his photo posted right there on Glumicic's website:-9
Laura Castillo7 mentioned that at Glumicic, the price is 1,800 dollars. As for Borica, I haven't checked myself, but word on the street is they’re top-tier.
I’ve read accounts suggesting that people can be incredibly reckless when it comes to fasting—stuff like sneaking in pizza or a cigarette right before surgery. And then, because they couldn't follow protocol, they wake up from anesthesia and immediately start vomiting. Is that really how some people operate?
Isn't it just appalling that people start asking these kinds of questions when the procedure is practically already underway? Glumicic didn't say a single word to me about potential risks during our consultations. What kind of risks are you even talking about? Ladies, tell me—did you all actually follow through with your pre-op exams properly?
Hey ladies, quick question. Has anyone noticed their cheekbones looking more prominent right after surgery? I might be overthinking this, but if the surgeon shortens and lifts the nose even slightly, doesn't that inevitably make the cheekbones pop more than they did before? Doesn't it?
For those of you who have gone through nasal surgery—do any of you have kids at home? I’ve got a two-year-old girl who is basically a whirlwind of energy and constant cuddles. How on earth am I supposed to keep her from accidentally clocking me in the face during a hug once I'm recovering? :-)
I’ve never actually heard of this doctor before, but I see he’s been nominated for one of those "Top 100 Aesthetic Surgeons" awards. Does that even mean anything? Anyway, I have to ask—was your nose too prominent at first, too? Did it seem to drop or settle lower over time? Thanks for getting back to me.
Scott Carter23, I’m glad you’re feeling better about it. Which doctor did you end up seeing? Was there any specific pain involved? (Those are really the only two things I care to know right now:-))
Peter Young, did you deal with much pain following your surgery? Honestly, after I put down my deposit for the Actress, I heard through the grapevine that Dr. Boric was actually the better choice, but now the damage is already done. What was your experience like with the doctor?
