Even with Mercedes on a roll lately, they still managed to completely lose their way. 🤣 Grandpa’s just out there spreading bad vibes again.😁

stormybadger8 said:Look, if you're asking me, anything is better than driving for a Ferrari, so sure, maybe 😬

but compared to Red Bull Racing, Toro Rosso🙏, Williams, Lotus, Renault, or Force India? Yeah, absolutely not.

I have to wonder where on earth you dug up those references to Lotus and Force India...🤣 🤣

Maybe you brought up Force India because there's a decent Indian spot right around the corner from your place😉, and as for Lotus
, I guess you just liked the name and didn't realize it has zero connection to the legendary team they used to be.😁

Look, you still think McLaren is 😍 👍

It’s just a brutal reality at this point—Red Bull has built a car with more grip than anyone else on the grid, they tear through qualifying, they're untouchable in the race, and honestly, it feels like they're just fighting the ghosts of Newey's design while everyone else struggles with mediocre machinery. 😁

The season is technically still wide open, though even that feels like a stretch now, but man, it really drains your soul when you see the same single team snatching pole position in like 95% of the races. 😁

I actually went into this weekend thinking I might finally have something to cheer about, but then 😵

I’d honestly say they’ve actually managed to regress even further than before.😉
Red Bull hasn't brought any updates, McLaren is performing worse than they were previously, and at least Ford is staying roughly where they left off.

Those two tracks seem pretty similar to me, and you can tell McLaren dropped off by about 0.100 to 0.150 seconds.

A bad copy, just a really bad one.😬 🤣

They basically stripped away their update🤷—more like a "downdate"😁

Given the track configuration, this layout favors Red Bull more, and even if McLaren's update had actually worked the way it was supposed to, it probably still wouldn't have been enough to secure pole.

It’s fine when the technical copy is garbage; the real headache starts when half the crew is garbage too.👍 Enjoy the dominance, provided nothing blows up first.😁

Michael Lee4 said:He’s completely lost his mind, honestly I'm just fed up with Red Bull and their little train of cars; I mean, just give us an actual interesting race for once instead of them screwing everything up.

I totally get where you're coming from, because if last year was pure dominance, this current situation has honestly crossed the line from being funny to just being tragic....☕

Why are you getting so worked up about this? Honestly, I felt the same way 😢, but they went way too aggressive with an update that hadn't even been properly tested yet—they were supposed to roll it out at the US Grand Prix—and then they ended up stripping everything off the car just to slap on a new front wing. Luckily for them, Hamilton 🙏🙏 managed to snag 4th place, which isn't exactly a win, but let's be real: Button was the one who really blew it today by failing to dial in the setup....

The bigger issue here is that neither Alonso (even with the new system) nor Hamilton (without it) stood a chance against Red Bull 😲
.
Hamilton's race strategy basically boils down to: "I'm gonna get a rope, tie it on and tag along."🤣🤣😍

Yeah... plus they haven't even had enough time to run the new parts through their paces, dammit.😢

It's going to be a rough weekend....

Crack 🤷 😁

Nah, while they're all busy wrecking themselves and tearing things up, he'll probably just be chilling at some local dive bar nearby 🤣🤣

It’s funny when I look back at how much the old guard fought against letting former drivers step into advisory roles or officiating positions...🤣 🙂

I’m looking forward to the race 😁

By the way, what was that barbecue being mentioned earlier? 🙏 🤣

@stormybadger8, enjoy your time at the beach, just let that little loudmouth keep running his mouth 🤣

Anyway, I just watched the whole clip and reached a conclusion: they need at least a 25-second penalty 🤣

I’m calling for a 25-second penalty for Massa and a disqualification for Alonso because I've never seen anyone overtake the medical car under yellow flags before 🤣 🤣 😂

You can clearly see both of them overtaking the other silver Mercedes 😳

Sure, the first guy doesn't pass, but the second one is right behind him, which makes them both guilty 😬

hehe 😬 👍

stormybadger8 said:Of course they'd notice. The real question is whether they'd hand out a penalty right then or wait until the end of the race like they did for everyone else. ☕

Why hasn't their entire squad of 7 or 8 drivers been penalized mid-race? They get hit after the race, but the actual infraction happened at the exact same time as Hamilton's 😉

It probably would've been the same story with Hamilton if Alonso wasn't such a 🙂

Why? Seriously, why? 😁 😉 They just sit there racking up penalties, taking a little breather, maybe grabbing a drink or stretching their legs before heading back out... only to have it all blow up right at the finish line. 😲 🤣🤣🤣

stormybadger8 said:Nope, he didn't get lucky there.🤣
If he and the crew had just kept their mouths shut, Hamilton probably would have finished maybe 2 or 3 seconds behind Vettel. But after the race, the whole team would've been slapped with at least a 25-second penalty—you can't go lower than that, obviously. That puts him in 5th or 6th, if they don't just strip him of all his points entirely. Boom. Case closed.
Hamilton's totally in the red here, while Alonso is grinning like a kid on Christmas.
All this did was do him a favor,
because the penalty is set in stone now. There's no point whining about it anymore.🤣

Oh, absolutely... Charlie Whiting and the gang wouldn't have even noticed if Mark Webber had smashed into a wall unless a piece of the chassis flew right through their window 🙄 😁 , honestly, it's like Alonso has been acting as their talent agent since 2007, though we only found out during the last race.😂

stormybadger8 said:this is hands down the most objective post on this entire F1 forum ever 🙏 🙏🙏

mistybear87 needs to start a "Legendary Forum Posts" thread immediately

this one definitely earns a special spot 😬 🤣

EDIT: and just so we're clear, I actually respect a McLaren driver publicly admitting that Vettel is a better driver than both of their guys 😍

Maybe a thread about "Anthological posts: then vs. now" would actually be a decent topic 👍😬

P.S. That whole bit about the guy bringing the cash would actually make sense if he hadn't been slapped with so many penalties already 🤣🤣

It’s pretty brilliant, really—you shut down the thread just to reopen it with the exact same kind of nonsense that got it locked in the first place. 😲 😁

redheron12 said:Hmm—considering how McLaren is developing their car—an update should actually be a massive leap forward. What others call an "update," we seem to prepare for every single race 😁

So, based on the chatter floating around the forums—where some people are even calling it a "new" race car, which is obviously a huge exaggeration—insiders are hinting at a lot of fresh, critical components being added. 🙏🙏

cosmicridge5 said:Man, it's like you don't know how McLaren drivers work... they act like their results don't mean anything. Honestly, maybe the only thing that would actually make them happy is a ceremonial burning of Alonso in the middle of a massive town square. 😁

🤦 I honestly couldn't care less about Fernando; he can do whatever he wants, as long as he just drives the car and keeps his mouth shut.☕

Everything was written in bold, and then you just tacked on Hamilton at the end based on your own posts—honestly, you couldn't have described yourself any better. 😉🤣🤣 That’s just how I see things, anyway.😍
