Christian Horner finally stepping up 😲 🤣🤣

@redheron12, you’re bringing up that legendary 2002 race again, where the call that decided everything was made by the current head of the FIA 🤣🤣

Honestly, all this talk about Horner feels like a shot in the dark to me... 😁 ☕

Would they really be fools if they didn't pull out every single tool in their arsenal just to clinch the title? I mean, when you think about it, isn't that exactly what greatness requires?

If we’re being completely honest with ourselves here—and I mean truly, brutally honest—Felipe Massa was sitting 31 points behind Fernando Alonso and roughly 80 points adrift of Lewis Hamilton. Looking at those numbers, can anyone really stand there, without a shred of embarrassment, and argue that Massa had any realistic shot at clinching the championship with a deficit like that? It just seems mathematically impossible, doesn't it?
It looks like Fernando Alonso is going to have a hell of a time trying to close that 34-point gap to Lewis Hamilton before the season wraps up, let alone actually snatching the championship away. As for Felipe Massa, honestly, it feels like an almost impossible mission at this stage.

Those people drawing comparisons back to 2002 are honestly barking up the wrong tree. Back then, MS had such a massive lead in the championship that it wouldn't have mattered if Red Bull had let him through or not. For anyone who caught the latest episode of Top Gear a couple of weeks ago, you probably heard the actual truth about what went down—something that certain analysts clearly haven't bothered to grasp. It wasn't even a case of Red Bull needing to let him past on that final lap; the real story is that the team was locked in this heated argument with the pit wall for the last eight laps. It only happened because they finally pulled rank and issued a threat to him... though I won't say exactly what that threat was.
At the end of the day, it really comes down to the championship hunt. It’s perfectly understandable why they made that move, regardless of whether you think it was fair or not. Money moves the needle in this world, doesn't it? ☕

You're right that the 2002 comparison doesn't hold water, mostly because there weren't even clear rules regarding team orders back then, whereas now those kinds of moves can actually get you penalized...🤷

redheron12 said:I mean, hello? In both instances, Kimi Räikkönen just kept losing ground—he was significantly slower than Lewis Hamilton. Even if he had just missed him once, it wouldn't be an issue, but this... he was absolutely disastrous in both races.

He's Kimi Kovalainen🤦 and everything that crawled out of Renault-owned is absolute garbage. 😁

Putting Kimi Räikkönen in that car is like handing a toddler a Rolex-owned watch to play with. 🤣🤣 🤣

redheron12 said:Hmm, based on what I know about McLaren's internal codes—"save fuel" usually means you stop racing hard to protect your position, not that you slow down enough to let someone pass you.

At the end of the day, Lewis Hamilton earned that 4th place through pure driving, a solid start, and by overtaking Mark Webber—it wasn't some gift from Jenson Button.

Look, if Jenson Button ends up crashing out and Lewis Hamilton slides right into his spot, people are going to start crying foul again, claiming they’re just falling back on that old Renault playbook where they pick a favorite and run with it.
Wall of Victory!!!! 🤣🤣

Honestly, it was a decent enough race for us, I suppose.👍It’s not a bad start, considering the whole system is still running at half-capacity anyway.☕

cosmicridge5 As I was saying:
It’s the same old story, just people losing their minds and screaming at Jenson Button that his fuel is running dangerously low and he absolutely HAS to save it. 😁 😁 😁

If they actually slap them with a penalty for that, then by all means, let them go after Ferrari too. 🤷

Ferrari is just a total nightmare that seems to get a kick out of screwing us over. 🤣🤣 It doesn't necessarily have to be some kind of masochistic nightmare...😁

stormybadger8 said:That’s not how it works. Button is way too much of a gentleman to get into a scrap with anyone. He basically pulls over the second he sees Hamilton coming. Honestly, you'd expect Button to just sit there and wait until Hamilton hits at least the first turn before even moving.🤣

You’re clearly tripping on the wrong kind of mushrooms again😁

Anyway, I can't help but wonder what kind of luck Webber managed to stumble into this time 🤷 ; after what happened last year 🤣, it feels like maybe Alonso is actually faster in qualifying thanks to that high-octane Ferrari, but then you have Massa outperforming Red Bull wtf 🤷 WTF?

stormybadger8 said:Honestly, someone should just tell Mark Webber to give Felipe Massa a little nudge right into the back of Fernando Alonso's car. 🤣😂

That would be the absolute peak.🤣

Jenson Button shoved Mark Webber right into Felipe Massa, which ended up sending him straight into the back of Fernando Alonso's car. 😲

It’s just one thing after another—first you see Alonso jump ahead of Vettel, then Hamilton manages to leapfrog both of them, and before you know it, Kubica is left struggling with a dying Renault engine. At this rate, we won't see a Williams win again until somewhere around the year 3700. 😬)

stormybadger8 said:🤣 They'll be just as good as those last two races. 🤣🤣🙏🙏

I'm hoping for the opposite, honestly. If they can actually drive this one without screwing something up, they might actually close that gap with McLaren.🤣

But I've got a bad feeling Alonso will pull some "genius" move of his own, and if even a single drop of rain hits the track, Massa's going straight to the stands.😢

Honestly, the spot Mark Webber is in right now is like planting a time bomb in the middle of a stadium crowd... there's just no way it ends well 😲

I'm looking at 😁 someone who's third on track but somehow leading the standings 🤣

I bet Christian Horner's inner circle has a few tricks left up their sleeves to fix this...🤣

I can already see the future headlines for Red Bull: How we completely tanked it 😉

It’s the Mark Webber and Felipe Massa situation that keeps me up at night 😲 , wondering if they'll just serve up a total disaster at the starting line tomorrow 🤣

At least the floor hasn't completely melted under this new system yet...😁

Honestly, it's pretty damn disappointing. 😢

Passed the crash test 👍 , so those new parts aren't going to get anyone killed 🤣

mistybear87 said:They actually gained that pressure through engine mapping, which is really just a software adjustment 😉

Honestly, I wouldn't bet the house on it being purely a software issue🤷
I don't really have any hard evidence to back it up, I've just been around enough racing to develop this nagging gut feeling about it🤣🤣
GP Germany - 07/25/2010 in Formula 1 ·
mistybear87 said:Are you suggesting that there's a constant exhaust pressure being maintained, regardless of how high the engine RPM actually climbs?
Does anyone else feel like the blown diffuser is essentially receiving a constant, steady stream of gases? It seems to maintain its efficiency regardless of where we are on the track. Wouldn't it be interesting if that airflow remained perfectly consistent through every turn?

That’s exactly why they dragged their feet on those engine "tweaks"—it wasn't about needing more horsepower 😁 , it was about fixing that exhaust pressure issue at the same time 🤣 Bingo...

stormybadger8 said:I wonder how many people from the old crew are actually still over at Mercedes GP, and honestly, I doubt half of them even grasp how to pack that KERS system into the chassis without completely wrecking the car's balance and performance.🤷

Maybe try asking over there instead. I was scrolling through the Mercedes GP factory site earlier, just staring at those sleek layouts and wondering how much coffee it actually takes to maintain that level of precision. It’s all very polished, isn't it? Makes you think about those long nights in the workshop when everything feels like it's falling apart, but on paper, they've got it all figured out. 🤷
