edit: okay, there. Hopefully I nailed it.. if not, I'll just post the whole picture..

Honestly, just deal with it, it's no big deal! 😉A friend of mine has a very similar situation (from what I can tell) and she's getting it sorted soon. She has a toddler, so she hasn't been able to catch a quiet moment in weeks 😁
Laura Booth6 said:I just sent over one photo, still hunting for others... I don't have many on hand, and I'm sure you all know exactly why... 😬 😉

Well, I didn't have any profile pictures of my own brace either. 😉
Just crop it and post it so we can see... don't worry, we've all been there!😂
George Ramos11 said:Fine... everyone ignored my first post. Whatever. I guess I'll just decide for myself who my Dr. Nozic will be. Thanks for nothing. My second question is this: has anyone here actually achieved a full recovery from the surgery? Is "complete recovery" even a thing? Does anyone reach a point where they feel exactly like they did before the procedure? I haven't heard a single person say, "I have zero pain... it’s been about a year and it feels like I never even had the surgery." So, what's the actual point of all this?

Three months in, and aside from some slight swelling at the tip of my nose—which is fading—I don't have any issues. Everything feels back to normal, just much more "open."😁
Laura Booth6 said:I honestly can’t picture myself with a flat nose. I think I might actually fall off my chair once they take the mold off! 😬

Well, you'll definitely be blown away at first... but once the initial hype dies down... you won't believe your own eyes. 😲 😲 😲 😲 😲 Personally, I still take selfies just to stare at my profile and tell myself: STUNNING!!!! 😁 Don't worry, you're going to be on cloud nine. 😍
Megan Moore76 said:Alright, thanks!! 🙂

No worries at all! 😉
Yeah, the computer gives you a decent idea of how it should look. I actually just took a photo of mine with my phone—it was honestly my little source of joy during my whole recovery period. 😍

I'm just collecting things now. Slowly, but surely. 👍
Megan Moore76 said:vividfox, you have a lovely nose! 🙂

After doing a little digging into our local plastic surgeons, he actually seems pretty decent. His work isn't half bad, either. From what I gather, he’s the one behind Severina’s new nose—finally allowing her to breathe and talk like a normal person again. 😁

Can you tell me more about him? What’s his vibe? Does he actually listen to what patients want, or is he one of those ego-driven types? That's a big deal for me.
And how much does the procedure run? Do people stay overnight at his clinic, or is it a "get in and get out" kind of thing?

Whoa... okay, maybe too many questions. Just answer half of them if you can. 😁

I forgot to mention that I ended up paying quite a bit more because of my specific situation. It was 17 $0.00. I think the standard rate is somewhere around 10 or 12? Honestly, I couldn't say for sure. You should probably just ask during the consultation or shoot him an email. 😉
James Kelly said:Oh, absolutely... you go under the knife, mutilate yourselves, and leave the hospital looking like caricatures just to satisfy some cliché.
It’s not about seeing a psychiatrist. Honestly, since when did seeking mental health support become a source of shame? You just keep proving how insecure you really are.
Society broke you down until you hate your own reflection, and then I try to point out the absurdity of it all, and suddenly I'm the aggressor?
The real assault happened long ago—carried out by magazines and those fashion gurus peddling fake beauty standards to girls who haven't even developed a sense of self yet.

And how on earth would you know someone's motivations?? Clearly, you have no clue... what, do you think people just flip through a catalog and say, "I'll take nose number five, please"? We fix things we aren't happy with. And for the record, none of my relatives three generations back had a "wrong" nose. I have the same nose as my parents and grandfathers. Please take your frustrations elsewhere. This forum is for people who are *for* the procedures, not against them... hey, why don't you start a thread titled: "Everyone getting surgery is an idiot and I am incredibly brilliant"? You can dump all your thoughts there.

Quoting:
Take a former friend of mine, for example. She was constantly talking about getting her nose done because it was too "potato-shaped," plus trimming her upper lip, filling her lips, and "adjusting" a few other things.
The irony is, she was planning to remove everything that actually made me attracted to her (not joking), so what is there even to say?

An ex-friend? I completely understand if you were having this little meltdown in front of her. And frankly, nobody cares about your physical reaction. Best regards, I'm finished with you and your opinions. Goodbye, Sarah Wood8!

Tell me more about him! What’s his vibe? Does he actually listen to what you want, or is he dismissive? It’s vital to me that he isn't arrogant.
What does the surgery run me? And do you stay overnight at his clinic, or do you just head straight home?

Whoa... that's a lot of questions. Just answer half of them if you can.

Haha, no worries. I'd happily answer a hundred questions if it helps someone out. 🙂
He's the kind of guy who knows his worth. He isn't overly bubbly, but during consultations, he really listens to what you're looking for and tells you honestly what is actually achievable. Yes, he did Severina's nose (she didn't tell me personally, but word on the street is...) and in my case, since my nasal passage was totally ruined, he went ahead and added a piece of cartilage I was missing. (I only had half of it left, which explains the bump! 😲).
He’s a bit full of himself, sure, but I'm no child; I spent ten years weighing my options before deciding to go through with it. Needless to say, I am beyond satisfied. If I weren't dealing with health issues, I'd hire that absolute SURGEON/PSYCHOLOGIST/SPIRITUAL GURU all over again just to redo the whole thing.
You show up with your labs (blood work and EKG), and they take you to this really nice room where the anesthesiologist talks you through everything. After that, 😍you head into the OR with Nurse Željko (she's an absolute gem!!!) and drift off like a baby. You wake up with the splint on, stay there for a while, and there will be elderly folks waiting to see how you're doing. It’s a sleepless night, but painless. The nurse checks on you constantly and brings you tea. 👍
Follow-up is in the morning, then it's straight home. Tampons come out in 2 or 3 days, and the splint stays on for a week. My procedure was a bit tougher because of the damaged passage, so I had mine removed a day later. Tape stays on for 4 or 5 days, and if you have patience, you're saved. 🙂
The bruising lasted me about a month and a half 😠 though for others it's just a week or so. Even though I wasn't swollen immediately after surgery, the swelling hit me later. It doesn't actually hurt; it's just the insomnia and the snoring that kept my husband awake. 🙈
So, here's the result: my nose is clear, healthy, straight, and looks great. It wasn't even that I had major complexes... I just didn't like how I looked (or how my profile photos turned out 😵).
Now, I'm just happier and more relaxed. Ufffff.... I can finally breathe... anything else? Just ask. 🙂
James Kelly said:I don’t want to ruin the vibe of this perfectly harmonious thread, but I honestly don't get why everyone is so obsessed with their noses.
Did you all get bullied in middle school or something? Why such an inferiority complex when your nose is just as average as anyone else's? Why this desperate drive to strip away any personality from your face—whether by shrinking a nose or overfilling lips? Is self-respect really so low that you’d go under the knife just to shave off a tiny 3mm bump?
That’s how you look. That’s how your kids will look.
I suspect people would just be happier if everyone looked identical, or at least like some manufactured "ideal," just so they can escape themselves and blend into the crowd of idiots.
For those of you discussing rhinoplasty here, I highly doubt your noses were actually ugly. Honestly, I doubt anyone besides yourselves would even notice a thing.
Stop obsessing over magazines and beauty stereotypes like that caricature of Angelina Jolie and maybe focus on some actual mental and psychological growth.

Don't act like you're superior just because you're proud of having a crooked nose. You have no business judging us; it isn't kind. Everyone has their reasons. That should be explanation enough.
casualgardener said:It’s actually great. At least you can breathe easier now 🙂 and things are looking up. Fingers crossed that swelling goes down soon.
:*

Thanks, Amy😍

Which month did you have your surgery?
I’m not even remotely worried about the actual procedure, pulling out the tampons, or removing the molds...
It's just those bruises... 😲

The bruising lasted me a full month and a half for me! 🤷 But hey, it eventually passes. 😉
casualgardener said:Honestly, this looks like an incredible job. Kudos to the surgeon—it turned out so well and looks incredibly natural.😁
Which doctor did you go to? 🙂))
:*

Thanks 😁 I was basically hunting for my "original" nose just so he could fix it! The tip (which isn't fully visible yet because the swelling is pretty intense) is the same one my brother and dad have. I didn't want to lose that since we actually look like a family. My pitch was simple: I want this exact nose, just without the bump and with a slightly smaller tip. That was it. (He also had to widen it because breathing wasn't exactly great, plus some cartilage work inside... yuck!) 😲 Dr. Zambelli performed the procedure in Cleveland. I'm thrilled 😍 though it took me three months just to get an appointment... and now my nose and I still have plenty of healing left to do!🤣
I’ve noticed hardly anyone is posting photos lately. Not sure what the reason is... personally, I always found finding someone else's progress shots to be a bit of a comfort. So, here's an example. before and after 🙂 and yeah, the 😁 is still a bit swollen 🤣
Casey Ramirez4 said:Could use some encouragement here if anyone’s got any. I had my rhinoplasty two weeks ago. From the profile view, it still looks massive. The only real change I can notice is that the nostrils aren't flared anymore. Is it actually going to shrink at all? :S

Ugh, tell me about it. I know exactly how you feel. I had my nose done three months ago, and right after they took the cast off, I spent two weeks thinking, "Finally, it's perfectly STRAIGHT" 😲 only to realize it was actually five times larger than it should be!!! 🙂🙂

Fast forward to today—three months later—it finally looks good... and it’s STILL swollen!!!!! Well, the tip is swollen, it feels hard, and there's internal swelling too. So, yeah, just goes to show that for some of us (not everyone), it takes a while to reach the final shape. 😳:2up:

I only recently started looking at myself in the mirror and taking photos again, and honestly, I'm really happy... and it’s only going to get better. My surgeon was right when he told me to expect a full year before everything truly settles into place. 😉

Just try to relax. It’s tough. You start questioning if the whole thing was even worth it, but trust me, things will change.

Patience pays off. 😁
A surgeon doesn't need to be particularly charming. As far as I'm concerned, they could be downright arrogant and obnoxious... as long as the results are flawless. So, for those of you who are intimidated by the surgeon and are holding out for someone "nice"... I think it’s much smarter to just look at before-and-after photos and hear what people actually say about the outcome after their procedure.😉What he's like as a private individual... isn't my concern.
It's not like I refuse to listen to a world-class singer just because they're an absolute jerk.😂As long as the art is there... that's all that matters!😍
😍

Hey there, fellow nose warriors,

just a quick update: 😉 I am FINALLY, absolutely thrilled with my nose!
🙏
It took three full months of dealing with swelling, total dissatisfaction, and genuine anxiety 🙂 :2up: but now, it’s actually happening! It looks right! 🎉
The waiting game was brutal... but ::::::I finally have a beautiful, straight nose and I couldn't be happier! (Patience pays off)! Thanks to everyone who reached out with support after my surgery—wishing you all the exact same luck!

Best to you all! 👋
Ashley Carter95 said:Just a heads-up: expect your nose to be swollen for about six months. It’s nothing too glaringly obvious, but it will be swollen. You won't even realize how much it actually looked like until after the fact.🤷

Thanks & awesome! So that means it’s only going to get even better and look much sharper. 😁
*Claps*
Here’s my latest update:
It’s been two months since the surgery. Visually, things are looking decent, but if you touch the top area, the swelling is still intense. It’s just proof that progress is happening, even if it’s moving at a snail's pace. 🙂Just a little bit of info—maybe it’ll be useful to someone out there! 😉
Olivia Wood82 said:Well, here goes nothing...

On August 10th, I’m heading in for surgery with Dr. Ritz at the hospital in Chicago.
They’ve suggested local anesthesia...

What’s the consensus? General or local??

Honestly, both options terrify me.😲

Go with general. You drift off in a heartbeat, and when you open your eyes, it's all over. I personally had zero issues with anesthesia—it was perfect.😁 😉
coastaltinker13 said:Hey there!

Well, I finally worked up the nerve. I’m heading in for my first consultation next week. I’m curious to hear from anyone who has already gone through with the surgery—roughly how long did you end up waiting? Specifically, what was the timeline from that initial consultation to the actual procedure?

About a week.😁
