I don't want to claim I'm an expert here—who am I to know anything about this stuff, haha—but I actually went through something pretty similar myself. 🙂
Basically, I had this wild dream and ended up punching myself right in the nose while I was out cold. 🤣 It had been about two weeks since my surgery; it hurt, sure, but nothing serious happened.

How funny, that actually happened to me too... once in my life, no more, no less. I was dreaming away, smacked my nose (actually hit it pretty hard), and it was also around the two or three-week mark post-op. No lasting damage... 🙂 (other than the trauma) 😁

silentdrifter13 — sorry, I assumed you were female... didn't catch the name. 😉
silentdrifter13 said:Thanks for the advice, 🙂 but how long am I supposed to keep this up?

Honestly, I have no clue. 🤷 For me, it took about three weeks before I could start blowing... you know, just a little bit at a time. It’s been six weeks now and I can breathe through my nose normally. So, look... if there's a little leakage, just blow very gently. Don't try to "clear" it like you usually would based on how it feels. All I know is you have to avoid any pressure, so just be gentle.😁
silentdrifter13 said:Hey there. I’m new to this forum. It’s been six days since my nose surgery, and since everything still feels pretty stuffed up, I was wondering if it's actually okay to blow my nose yet? 🙂

Don't bother blowing your nose. Just use those drops that clear everything out... whatever needs to come out, let it happen. 😁 And they even use those nasal swabs to clean themselves out. 😉
wanderingangler8 said:I had my consultations on April 6th and 17th, and then I was already operated on. Dr. Smith called me because some girl backed out of her breast surgery, so I stepped in instead...
How did I choose Dr. Smith? Well, once I started browsing this forum, he was basically the first option that jumped out at me. Even after seeing a few negative comments and bad experiences, I still pulled the trigger on him. Honestly? I can't say I regret it. It’s been about two and a half months since the surgery. No lumps or anything weird. However, the swelling lasted a long time—almost two full months. I’m not sure if that depends on the complexity of the procedure or just skin type, but that was my experience. Now, I finally feel like my old self again.

Hey, I read that you were swollen for nearly two months. I'm at the month and a half mark (6 weeks) today, and my nose is still swollen. If you don't know what to look for, you won't notice, but trust me, I see it. 😕
It actually comforted me a bit to hear how much better you're doing now, especially since you mentioned you didn't deal with much pain or bruising. My bruises stuck around for a month, and I'm still dealing with these faint gray circles under my eyes. 😠
Anyway, I hope you're happy with your nose, and thanks for sharing—it makes me feel a little better!😍

Best,👋

p.s. go with general anesthesia. It's great. You wake up, and it's all over before you know it. 😉
Rachel Foster45 said:it’s a similar situation 🙂 just hang in there a little longer; soon you'll be out walking around, showing off that new nose and a clear face😍

Thanks, dear.😍

Well, that's great then. 😁 You sounded a little like you were mourning something there... but if we're being honest, you really do look better. It’s just that people don't seem to grasp what actually changed. 🙂 I mean, let's be real—neither of us was walking around with some massive nose that needed a total overhaul anyway. The change itself is subtle, sure, but it’s significant in its own way. If you know what I mean. 🙂 Don't sweat the dark circles too much. They’ll fade eventually... I mean, I’m not exactly a fan of caking on foundation every single morning either, so I’m just counting down the days until these shadows finally clear up. 🙂

No, no, no. I'm not sorry. Not even a little bit. 😁
I had an irregular, narrow nose before. It wasn't exactly a beauty pageant winner, but it wasn't ugly either—which I suppose is why this doesn't feel like much of a transformation. For people dealing with a majorly crooked or bumpy nose, I imagine this would feel like a total overhaul. For me? Not so much. 🙂 I'm happy for them, honestly. As for my little one, she’s small, but she's definitely cute.👍
Maybe one day I'll actually be able to step outside with a fresh face. 🙏😍🎉
Rachel Foster45 said:Well, that’s a bummer then... I guess it’s just one of those things that varies from person to person. Honestly, I really hope the bruising fades quickly for you so you can at least hide it with makeup. Maybe you’ll feel better once the whole ordeal settles down—I don’t know. Do you regret going through with it at all? I went out for the first time yesterday after my surgery and managed to cover everything with foundation... but everyone who saw me with the bruising kept teasing me, saying I looked like I’d been in a street fight 😁 though they aren't actually that bad, especially since I can just mask them...

No, I don't regret it. When I look at it, I'm actually happy, even if I thought this would be some massive life-altering transformation when it really isn't. I’ve decided it’s a win because I look better now and nobody even knows why 😁 and since I didn't have a huge complex about my nose to begin with, it’s a plus 😉 plus, breathing is much easier now!!! I don't have bruises per se, just dark circles under my eyes that I have to cover up with makeup (and I'm not exactly a fan of wearing foundation every single day), and even then, they still peek through a bit👎
The tip is still a little swollen, which is a bit annoying, but I suppose I should be grateful that I finally have nothing left to complain about 😛
Rachel Foster45 said:Yeah, I’ve still got a tiny bit of swelling under my right eye, but honestly, makeup covers it up just fine. It doesn't bother me. Of course, it’ll take a few more months for everything to settle into its final shape, but it isn't swollen anymore. No matter how much I stare at myself or overanalyze it, I don't see anything wrong 🙂. And I can't even begin to describe how much better I feel after the surgery... it was totally worth it.

I'm genuinely happy for you. 😁 I'm still dealing with dark circles, though the discoloration underneath has cleared up a couple of days ago 😕. It's been five weeks now and I still can't hide it with makeup... it's just visible. 😠
And to be completely honest... the feeling is the same. I don't feel like I've had surgery, nor does it feel like it changed my life in any massive way (aside from the fact that I can breathe better now). My airway is straighter and better, but that wasn't my main concern, even though I thought this would be a total game-changer for my entire existence.🤔😵
Hey Marvin, it’s been a week since my surgery and honestly? Zero issues. My nose looks perfect—not even a hint of swelling.

😲😲😲😲😲😲😲 A whole week? So you only just took the mold off?
It took a full twenty-five days before things finally started feeling "off" for me.🙏 Good grief, I haven't heard that one yet... hats off to you.

Don't sweat it too much. You're worrying over nothing. You just drift off, wake up with that mold on your nose, and honestly? No anesthesia, no pain. It's really not that deep. 😉 Just some tension around the nose area until they take the mold off... and honestly, those stupid tampons. Don't worry about it; you'll have a good laugh once this is all over. 😁
ruggedpanther25 said:Hey girls, I have a question about nose care after surgery...
I took the splint off yesterday, so I'm wondering if it's okay to start applying creams, exfoliants, or masks to my nose? Everything still feels totally numb—zero sensation—and it’s also feeling quite oily... I know I should probably avoid wearing glasses for now too...
Best, 🙂

Hmm, you'll find plenty of advice here, but I can offer some insight based on how I handled things with my own nose. I'm at the one-month mark today.😉
Once my splint came off, I just stuck to washing with a gentle cleanser and using my usual moisturizer. I didn't touch any exfoliants until about day 20. I've heard stories of people walking around with their splints still on or wearing heavy earrings and whatever else, but honestly, I wouldn't dare "test" the limits of my nose like that. Just remember: even if there isn't a visible wound, this was major surgery. It's a lot for your face and skin to handle, so be gentle and cautious for as long as possible. My doctor told me today that I can finally wear glasses to the beach or out in the sun, though I should still avoid heavy diving. 🙂
That's all from me; hopefully, this helps a little.

P.S. I should also mention that after 25 days, my nose has finally settled down to a "normal" size, but my surgeon told me today that it will take quite a while to truly define itself, slim down, and for the tip to get that elegant line because the swelling is still HEAVY. (So yeah, this is definitely not some minor procedure.)
I'm happy enough 👏

Best regards to everyone 👋

Hey everyone.
I had rhinoplasty back in August last year at a private clinic in Arcadia.
Overall, I’m happy with the results, especially the profile. However, my nostrils have always been quite wide, and it still bothers me. I’m looking for some input—should I go through with narrowing them?
The doctor mentioned they could do it for free, as it was already bundled into the initial cost.
My only hesitation is that it requires small incisions, which leave tiny scars... but honestly, they feel massive to me. Just little holes.
I’d appreciate some honest opinions. How does my nose look to you all, and would you personally opt for that extra procedure?

Your nose actually looks great! Seriously, nice job. Regarding the nostrils, I actually had mine done. The only real pain was dealing with the stitches, though that might be different if you're just doing that specific part. Honestly, they are a bit wider than average, but I can't say if I'd go back for more... I can't really give advice here. If it bugs you, go for it, but that's a call only you can make. Good luck!
Brenda White45 said:Hehe, no worries 😍

I was honestly a total wreck after my surgery. A fair amount of emotional stress piled up—you know that feeling when you expect one thing, but instead, you get hit with a nose that looks like a complete disaster. I eventually calmed down and just stopped staring at myself in the mirror. Time passed, and before I knew it, it had healed 😍

Oh, and one more thing. I didn't undergo a full-blown reconstructive surgery, just a correction and maybe a little touch-up. So, speaking from my own perspective, I wasn't in the "major surgery" category, though I did read somewhere that recovery is faster that way.

Hehehehe, just had my follow-up. It's day 14. Some minor bruising, but there are these dark shadows under my eyes that even foundation can't hide 😠
CNN: It looks better, just swollen 🙂 so... THERE IS STILL A LOT OF SWELLING TO GO!!
Ouuuujeeeaaa 👍🙂🙂🙂
Everything else is fine... just waiting for the next chapter of "shrinking now" 😉😁
Brenda White45 said:It looked a bit like a bloated balloon to me at first—super swollen—but that passed. It settled down over time. Don't sweat it, just be patient. 😍

I've got a septum correction coming up myself, though I don't think the recovery will be too long. My guess is everything should stabilize after about a month. 🙂

Thanks, thanks, you really put my mind at ease. 🙈

I had septum surgery—reconstructing a tiny bit of cartilage plus the aesthetic part—so it’s actually totally normal for it to be swollen since my whole nose is still incredibly sore!! 🙂 But knowing it was just some temporary bloating 😁👋 makes me feel way better! Thank you so much!!😍🎉
Brenda White45 said:haha, I used a thermal device too. Mine peeled a little, but just be patient—it’ll all work out eventually. 😍

I read somewhere that the whole recovery process actually takes six months (!) though it seems the surface stuff heals pretty fast.

Honestly, you’re my only source of comfort here😛 because... mine doesn't look good from any angle. 😢
I am just WAITING and waiting... waiting for the swelling to finally, finally go down!!
Did yours swell up a lot, or just a little? Because if it was only a tiny bit, that’s not exactly going to help me feel better. 😵🙂

Thanks so much. 😍
Brenda White45 said:Of course it looks bigger, but it’ll settle down. Mine looked like a massive lump 🤣
after just a month—it was basically like new, especially if you actually take care of it.

Seriously? Thank God!! 🙏
I'm honestly terrified, even though they told me there was nothing to worry about. They were smoothing out the bump right on my nose, but now that my nose is swollen where the bump used to be—and up near the bridge—it feels huge. 😲🙂
So, you're saying a month?? I'm only on day 11. I've been spraying my face with thermal water... and using ointment because the skin is peeling. Right now, I can't even imagine it "shrinking," but you've given me a little hope... thanks. 🙂😵
Brian Garcia61 said:Can I actually go out if I wear a little makeup? And is this swelling supposed to be more intense than it was before the surgery, or am I just overreacting...?

In my case, it looks bigger than before because I had some cartilage added, but honestly, the whole area just feels swollen overall😠 apparently things will settle down quite a bit soon, so I’m counting down the days... even though it's only been about ten days since the procedure! As for the makeup, it's a lost cause right now—I have these dark purple crescents under my eyes that just punch straight through concealer and foundation...👎 hopefully they fade in the next couple of days so I can finally rejoin society... and once the nose actually deflates... yay me.🤣😍🙏
Adam Johnson said:Sure, you can put on makeup right after the mold comes off, but that actual sensation starts returning gradually over a month or two. Honestly, it takes about six months to fully heal and settle into its final shape—at least, that’s what Doc told me.😉

Thanks! 😉 I only had the mold removed a few days ago and just got my stitches out today... and honestly, it looks huge and ugly. 🙂 Even though they promised me the swelling would go down, I'm just sitting here thinking, "Great job, self..." 🙂

Get lost, nose!!! 😢(
Can anyone give me a realistic timeline on when my nose will actually start feeling normal again after surgery? Also, when am I cleared to hit the beach, wear makeup, and stuff like that? Thanks. 🙂
Since I’m already here, I might as well share my own experience:
It’s day six post-nose surgery for me. It was a minor septoplasty combined with some reshaping. The procedure itself? Painless. I just drifted off and woke up feeling like I’d had the best sleep of my life. Then reality hit. By day two, the bruising set in, and now everything is getting darker and the pain is ramping up. Some people claim they didn't feel a thing or that the nasal packing wasn't that bad. Well, they clearly weren't me. My nose hurts—badly. Specifically, the stitches around the nostrils and the inside are agonizing, and my eyes are throbbing too. As for those nasal tampons? They are absolutely miserable. Not even close to being "negligible." If I could go back in time and choose... I wouldn't do it again. Sure, it all passes eventually and everyone forgets, but since this is still fresh, consider this a warning. I thought I knew what to expect, yet here I am. It would have been much easier if I’d actually braced myself for this level of discomfort; I definitely wasn't prepared for the shock. 😕
The cast comes off the morning after tomorrow. They warned me about the swelling so I wouldn't freak out 😲 and mentioned the pain would linger for a bit.
I even had some bleeding, though Sinclair said it wasn't enough to require replacing the packing. All in all, it's just a complicated mess... all this just so I can breathe properly and have a decent nose. 😉
P.s. Zambelli performed the surgery.
