maybe someone as sweet as Hannibal L. 😉
I feel so incredibly bad for Laura Booth6—that sounds like such a traumatic mess...
Honestly, I’m sitting here wondering if I should even be stressing out since I’ve got the exact same thing scheduled for Wednesday... I guess the one silver lining is that I already survived one outpatient procedure under local anesthesia without any major drama... I could feel everything they were doing to me the whole time, but let's be real—the only part that actually hurt was getting the anesthesia itself...
Hang in there, girl, the worst part is behind you now
hugs

And honestly? No complications at all—I felt fine.
But hey, they’ll always claim that keeping you there is just "precautionary measures" against potential infections and whatever else...

Look, they don't just throw penicillin at you for kicks. Usually, it's because they're worried about a beta-hemolytic strep infection or something similar.
Donna Wells90 said:Look, I’d love nothing more than to just get the hell out of here and head home, but what am I actually gonna say to them? Seriously, what's the move?

By the way—what exactly are "cold operations" supposed to be?😁

The stuff that isn't life-or-death—you know, the non-emergencies.
Donna Wells90 said:So, why is it that when you go to a public hospital for surgery, they keep you stuck there for five to seven days—just rotting in a hospital bed—but if you head over to a private clinic, you’re basically walking out the door the very next day? It’s wild, honestly.😕

Honestly, I’d much rather just head straight back home—get settled in my own bed, blast some music, and just chill with a hot cup of tea...
They aren't doing any "cold" surgeries over at the Oakwood facility right now... they're short on anesthesiologists...
James Kelly said:Yeah, I'm just soooooo bitter, I have zero friends, I'm basically everything you want me to be... 😉

Look, it doesn't matter—it doesn't change the fact that you’re totally insecure and you're getting surgery just to please everyone else instead of doing it "for yourself." 😉

I am NOT insecure, and honestly, even with this broken nose, I look great. The whole point is—and yeah, I know I already said this, but apparently I have to repeat myself like a broken record for you to actually get it—that I have a mountain of health issues because of this nasal injury.
And for the record, I'm having the surgery for myself.
Susan Watson31 said:Hey everyone. Just checking in with another story about my nose being a total disaster instead of something I can actually be proud of...
Everything went downhill after that one accident. Nothing actually broke, but all the soft tissue just went haywire—over the last couple of years, the whole shape, function, and size have completely shifted... After bouncing around between endless specialists and getting a million different opinions, I finally decided to go to the Tončić Clinic to get it sorted. Why there? Honestly, because they were the only ones who weren't jerks and actually treated me with some decency...
So, Chuck with the ribs told me—and he was sure of it—that it’d work out fine, the swelling would just go down, and there was zero need for surgery. Even though, given my natural deviated septum, this new mess is basically a perfect storm waiting to cause even more issues...
Well, newsflash: the swelling didn't go down, and now the problems are just multiplying—I'm dealing with constant infections in my frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid sinuses...
Then there was Dr. Klapan, who some other doctor recommended. He did some kind of exam through some gadgetry, charged me a fortune, and of course, gave me absolutely nothing concrete to go on...
Over at Dubrava Medical Center, Dr. Vlašić told me my nose looked perfectly fine to her—totally ignoring the fact that it looks nothing like the nose I was born with... She just recommended some corticosteroid drops to "fix everything"...
Look, the issue isn't just how it works; it's how it looks too...
Then there's Dr. Bedeković. Not at his private practice (Orlando), but over at the Sisters of Mercy hospital. Our entire conversation lasted maybe four minutes before he basically said, "I can't fix this for you here." Yeah, right. I get it—the guy can't do it while working at the hospital, but suddenly he's all ears when you're at his private office...
Anyway, that's the situation so far.

Seriously, read this.🙂
Laura Booth6 said:I wish he’d at least given me an exam... 😢

Doesn't even matter—you're gonna have a sit-down with R. Tončić right before the surgery anyway, and honestly, he's the one calling the shots on the operation regardless...
briskorca6 said:Look, here's the deal. I'm checking back in after scrolling through way too many pages. Some of you probably already know what I'm dealing with, but I have to
say it again because I'm basically obsessed with this. So, I'm 14 and I'm asking about nose surgery.
I can't deal with a couple of things—for instance, I've got this nasal deformity involving part of my sinus. Because of that, every three months or so, I end up with
some kind of lung issue, constant congestion, or something else entirely. Right now, my lymph nodes are swollen, supposedly because of the sinuses. On top of needing surgery for the health issues and the deformity, the looks of it are eating at me. Honestly, I don't mind having a swollen face for a few months if it fixes my health or my appearance. Basically, my question is: is it possible to do one surgery that covers both the medical and aesthetic stuff? Like, hit two birds with one stone? If you get what I mean. Also, I was wondering about the average cost. Btw, my parents are totally on board with whatever.
Thanks!

Yeah, that's exactly how it works—you go in once and they fix both the medical issues and the aesthetics in one shot.
As for the price, it's at least $3333
Man, mine was looking great before the accident too... and yeah, I actually tried going through Medicare, but you can read about how that disaster played out just a few pages back... basically, you hit up your primary care doctor to get a referral for an ENT (you gotta specify which hospital, too), show up there with all your old medical records regarding the fall, explain everything that's been going on, and so on. I really hope you have better luck with the hospital doctors than I did.
Look, I wasn't ignoring you—my surgery is set for September 16th, and once the healing process kicks in... well, then I'll actually have some real answers for you regarding what you're asking about. 🙂
Honestly, I was super impressed with Dr. Rajko Tončić—the guy is incredibly professional and doesn't just skim the surface; he digs into all those crucial details during the exam. It was actually a pleasure chatting with him. I was pretty shocked to find out that the bone and cartilage section is being separated, which is causing this whole mess of swelling and redness... that’s why I can't even think about wearing glasses without using a wet cotton pad first... it basically just slipped and shifted toward the impact site. But hey, finally, I have some actual answers and a solid plan to fix this whole situation... the nose is going to be straight, even, and have a slightly tapered tip that actually fits my facial features and head shape... I seriously cannot wait!
Look, you know I’ve been through a few surgeries before, and one of them was actually done under local anesthesia... You get hit with that pre-medication first, and once the local stuff kicks in, everything they do just feels like a light little feather brushing against you... I honestly couldn't stop talking—I was rambling the entire time. I guess that pre-medication totally sent me to another planet.
😉
Everything’s gonna be just fine 🙂
James Kelly said:Look, this isn't even an attack. You need help just like anyone else dealing with psychological issues. You think you have a physical problem, but honestly, the whole thing is just playing tricks on your mind.
I mean... you clearly don't love your body or how you look—you actually despise it enough to want to change so much about yourself.
Is there anything more pathetic than that?

You’re dead wrong, lady, and it’s honestly sad that you can't see past the end of your own nose...
Up until those last few sentences of yours, I actually thought maybe if I explained things a certain way, it might click for you, but nope—not happening...
You're just oozing so much bitterness that I can't help but assume there's some serious baggage driving it... I feel for you, really, just like I feel for all those people who spend their lives miserable and pissed off because they lack the guts or the backbone to actually make a constructive change—whatever that looks like...
The only constant in life is change, right? So why limit it to these tiny little patterns that only make sense to you? Your entire universe revolves around your own narrow beliefs, and frankly, I think it's incredibly hard to keep friends when you're like that—which is probably why you keep "intruding" on our space like this...
Do some soul-searching and clean up your own mess first; maybe then you'll actually be able to see what's happening on the other side of that pile of junk you've built...
Good luck with that!
I’m in the same boat over at Rajko Tončić's place— $3333 and I've got that 250 checkup coming up too
Look, from where you’re sitting, this might look like a total joke—but honestly? From where I'm standing, it makes perfect sense...
I get everyone posting here, truly. It doesn't matter if your reasons are miles away from mine... everybody is dealing with their own brand of chaos, and at the end of the day, everyone’s got the right to tackle their problems however they see fit...
As for me, I am beyond done with all the constant poking, the choking sensation, the nasal endoscopies, and having them dig through every single cavity in my head.
And yeah, just a little bit longer to go.
Exactly—it’s about health
My nose was basically totaled two years ago, just like I mentioned before... honestly, I’ve lost track of how many rounds of antibiotics I’ve burned through since then. It’s just constant low-grade fevers, and if nothing changes, this is my life forever. Since you clearly get the drill and know the deal, I’m not going to bore you with a lecture on what all those antibiotics do to your system, nor am I going to go into a whole dissertation on chronic inflammation in my ethmoid, sphenoid, and frontal sinuses—not to mention my tonsils, and yeah, even my lungs once upon a time...
Drop the judgmental attitude, especially when you're mixing it with your own baggage and stories about your ex-"friend"...
Maybe try working on accepting people for who they are—including those of us just trying to have a nose that actually functions properly.
James Kelly said:In what sense am I supposed to put myself in your shoes when I don't have a single complex about my perfectly fine, slightly curvy nose? 🤷
Look, there isn't a force on this planet that could drag me under a surgeon's knife unless it was strictly for medical reasons. Instead of being grateful that you're actually healthy and avoiding those total butchers who make a killing off your lack of self-esteem—basically wrecking your health permanently in the process—you all just hand them your money on a silver platter.

Take this ex-friend of mine, for example. She used to drone on constantly about getting her nose done because it was too "bulbous," plus she wanted to shave part of her upper lip, get lip fillers, and "tweak" a bunch of other stuff.
The hilarious irony? She wanted to cut away everything that actually made me attracted to her (no joke), so what can you even say to someone like that? What kind of glitch in your brain tells you that you need a whole different nose? Maybe just peel off your entire face under pressure and slap on a new one—preferably plastic? Yeah, wouldn't that be just great!

You'd say it's for health, sure, but what's my actual reason here, lady?
