Man, I feel for you... seriously. And he’s actually trying to gaslight you into believing the exact opposite of what's right in front of your eyes? Ugh, honestly, shame on him.

gentlemaker46, are we seriously still talking about this?

Did you guys all get bullied back in middle school or something? Where does this massive inferiority complex come from if your nose is just a totally normal, average-looking nose? Why the desperate urge to scrub away any personality from your face—either by shrinking a nose or pumping up lips—just to look like a carbon copy of everyone else? Are you really that low on self-esteem that you’re willing to go under the knife just to shave off some tiny 3mm bump?
That's how you'll look anyway, and that's how your kids will look too.
Honestly, I think people would just be happier if we all looked identical—or at least like the "standard" majority—just so they can escape themselves and "fit in" with the mindless herd.
As for all of you talking about rhinoplasty here, I highly doubt any of you actually had an ugly nose, and I doubt anyone besides yourselves would even notice if something was "off."
Stop obsessing over glossy magazines and those weird beauty stereotypes modeled after someone like Angelina Jolie and maybe try working on your actual mental health for once.
There are probably as many reasons out there as there are people here wanting a change, so I'll just tell you where I stand... I want my old nose back, or at least something close to it. I don't even have to look in the mirror to know it looks different—it messes with my breathing, not to mention the chronic sinus pain in that area... and hey, everyone's reasons matter; nobody would deal with the pain and drop the cash unless it was the only way to live a healthier, happier, more confident life...
Maybe if you tried putting yourself in my shoes—literally, like my skin—you'd drop the pseudo-psychological analysis and actually understand.
Look, it’s not even about whether he’s a "nice guy" or whatever... I went to that appointment to hear his actual professional take on my situation and the surgery itself. I didn't show up just so someone could ignore my entire medical history. I definitely didn't go there to have him point at some scar right under his own nose or give me a little demonstration of how hard it is to breathe when you're cramped on one exam table... I'm the patient here—it's his literal job to gather as much info from me as possible, run it through that brain of his, and actually offer some solutions...
It doesn't matter if I'm walking into the hospital where he works or heading over to Orlando!

Honestly, I’m a pretty high-maintenance patient—my gut feeling about the doc was absolutely make-or-break for me, plus the fact that he’s both an ENT and a plastic surgeon was huge. He actually treats you like a human being, looks at the whole face and nose as one thing, and we were totally on the same page about him hating those tiny, fake-looking plastic noses... we spent ages just talking through my expectations. The staff at the clinic treated me like royalty, everything went smooth, and recovery was incredibly fast and painless. Yeah, the price tag is a bit higher than average, but you aren't getting hit with those ridiculous extra fees for tests, dressings, follow-ups, and all that nonsense some places pull.
Just a heads up though—that guy has a completely different side to him, the one he shows when he's at S. milosrdnica Hospital. He can be arrogant, full of himself, and just plain cold.
Hey everyone. Here comes another one whose nose is anything but a point of pride...
Everything went sideways after that accident. Nothing actually broke, but all the soft tissue just went haywire—over the last couple of years, the whole thing has completely changed shape, function, and size. After bouncing around between endless appointments and getting "expert" opinions, I finally decided to get it sorted at the Tony Clinic. Why there? Because they were the only ones who weren't total jerks and actually acted friendly...
So, Dr. Cala from the Rebro wing told me—and he was dead certain about this—that it’ll settle down, the swelling will go away, and there's zero need for surgery. Even though, given my natural deviated septum, this new mess is basically a perfect setup for even more issues down the road...
Well, newsflash: it didn't settle down. If anything, the problems just multiplied. Now I'm dealing with constant inflammation in my frontal, ethmoid, and sphenoid sinuses...
Then there was Dr. Klapan, who some other doctor recommended. He ran through some tests and, of course, charged me a fortune, all while telling me absolutely nothing useful...
Down in Dubrava, Dr. Vlasic told me my nose looks totally fine and that it doesn't matter at all that it looks completely different than what I started with... She suggested some corticosteroid drops would magically fix everything...
Hello? My issue isn't just functional; it's aesthetic too...
Then Dr. Bedekovic—not at his private practice in Orlando, but over at S. Milosrdnica Hospital—basically told me in a four-minute conversation, "I can't fix that for you here." Oh, I get it now. A professor can't handle it at the hospital, but that same professor could probably do it at his private office...
Anyway, that's the saga so far.
