Ashley Young34 said:I’m back again, and I just have to give Dr. Smith the credit he deserves. He is an absolute master of his craft. My nose turned out incredibly beautiful, and honestly, if you're sitting there agonizing over which surgeon to trust with your face, just go see him. He's a specialist unlike any other. I realize this probably sounds like a paid advertisement, but I simply had to say it.😍

Hey there.
I am eagerly anticipating the arrival of some photos.
I am genuinely pleased to see that you are so satisfied. 🙏
Nick, how are you holding up today?
Is there any improvement?
Ashley Young34 said:Hey everyone, I managed to 😁
get through my surgery yesterday too. I'm headed in today to have the tampons removed, and everything seems to have gone smoothly so far, though I am currently dealing with massive bruising and significant swelling. 😲
Best, and much love to you, Paul Sullivan88. 😍

Dragaaaaa!
I was just thinking about you! 😁
It is wonderful news that everything went well. Are you in any pain?
Are you back home yet?
Ashley Young34 said:Ugh, honestly... I'm terrified😲. I am counting down the minutes until Monday; my head is absolutely throbbing from overthinking this whole mess.😁
I appreciate you looking out for me😉. I'll reach out on Monday once everything is settled.😛

Just hang in there.🙂

You’ll probably only check in on Tuesday... and likely with a brand new set of problems to deal with!!! 😁
I'm just as eager as you are!

Of course I'm thinking about you—you're my closest confidante! 😂

And don't let any anxiety get to you; you are in the hands of an absolute expert.
😘
Nick, counting your pennies now?! 😁

How are you holding up? Are you feeling the fear? Or just the adrenaline?
Just take it slow and stay relaxed! 🙂
Ashley Young34 said:I’m with Paul Sullivan88 on this one; I know from experience that Dr. Smith actually gets back to people via email.😉

Paul Sullivan88, quit holding your breath for me—I've already started the countdown.😛

Darling, of course I'm rooting for you! Only one more week to go... it'll be over before you know it, believe me.
It’s going to be fantastic, I just know it! 😉

I’ve been lurking here for a while now, catching up on all the threads. To be honest, some of this has been helpful, while other parts have just made my indecision worse. 😁 It shouldn't be a mystery why I'm posting... I am planning to undergo nose surgery myself. 👍 I'm not at all intimidated by the procedure, nor am I worried about the recovery process. My singular struggle is identifying a specialist capable of delivering a result that actually meets my expectations. I had one surgery once through public insurance—I can't recall the exact year, but I vividly remember watching the USA-England soccer match from a hospital bed; we lost that one thanks to a bad referee call, which I assume the men on this forum will remember quite well... 😁 My nose isn't particularly large or hooked, but it is crooked. Back then, I had a septoplasty because I couldn't breathe properly. While the breathing improved after the operation, they didn't fix the shape; in fact, over the years, the deviation has only worsened. At this rate, my tip might eventually merge with my philtrum 🤣 and my breathing will continue to deteriorate. I’ve been doing my research online, and the specific procedure I need is called rhinoseptoplasty. On Dr. Ostojić's website, it's described as the "most demanding type of rhinoplasty" because it addresses both aesthetic and functional issues simultaneously.
To get to the point: since I'm based in San Diego... before I even commit to an initial consultation... does anyone know which of the doctors mentioned actually respond to emails? I was thinking of sending a few photos to gauge their response before deciding who to see in person. Based on everything I've read here, I've narrowed my list down to Bastajić, Ostojić, and Tončić... though Glumičić and Glušac haven't been completely ruled out yet. You can see why I put "narrowed" in quotation marks... because the selection isn't exactly small. 😕 🤷
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Yes, finding a reliable surgeon is always a challenge. I understand the predicament. 🤣

From my own experience, Ostojić is quite prompt with email replies. As for the others you listed, I haven't reached out to them, so I can't speak to their responsiveness. 😁

Have you looked closely at the results produced by the doctors in your "shortlist"?
Emily Rivera94 said:I'm having some serious second thoughts here 😕, specifically regarding Glumicic or Ostojić...
I heard rumors that Ostojić performs some kind of incision on the muscle just below the upper lip or something along those lines. I've been scrolling through the photos on his site, and now I'm wondering if that's a standard part of his procedure. If that’s the case, I wouldn't even consider booking an appointment with him; the whole idea honestly turns my stomach. Besides, all I really need is a very, very minor adjustment...

If you're only looking for a tiny, subtle touch-up, do you really have to go under the knife?
Kimberly Baker13 said:I’ve essentially already made arrangements with Glumičić and Ostojić for April; I just need to give them a few days' notice. As for why I'm leaning toward Glumičić—it's hard to say. I know a handful of people who underwent procedures with him and didn't experience any complications. Of course, "perfect" noses are subjective, and it really depends on the individual. Some patients don't even have a clear idea of what they actually want. For my part, I definitely want 🙂. Then again, his reputation carries weight; a significant number of public figures have gone to him, among other things. I haven't personally known anyone treated by Ostojić, but looking at the before-and-after photos for both, Ostojić's results consistently look more aesthetic, smaller, and more refined. My only hesitation comes from this forum, where it seems there's a higher frequency of people reporting postoperative issues after seeing Ostojić.

Look, from what little I've managed to gather from this thread, I've only seen one person express dissatisfaction... 🤷
As for celebrities?! Well, I am quite certain that several very high-profile individuals have been patients of Ostojić's. Perhaps he simply doesn't boast about it as much as others do. 😕
Now I realize I sound like I'm running an advertisement for him! 🙂 Regardless, I am confident you will select your surgeon based on your own intuition. 😍

In any case, good luck!

And do keep us updated on how everything progresses! 😁
Kimberly Baker13 said:Actually, I haven't really reached out to anyone yet, except for Kroketica via private message since she just had surgery with Glumičić, though it seems she hasn't been active on the forum lately. It honestly feels a bit awkward to bother people like this. 🙄So, I’m putting an appeal out now to anyone willing to send me some photos privately; I would truly appreciate it.👍
Regarding the photos on their websites, the ones on Ostojić's site are definitely superior, whereas Glumičić has been using the same three outdated images for ten years 🤷 and yet, I find myself leaning toward Glumičić again. Honestly, I can't wait to get to my consultation and finally resolve this dilemma...

Have you scheduled your consultation yet? When? And with whom?
Is Glumičić pulling you in because of his reputation, or is it specifically his rhinoplasty work?

Personally, I wasn't a fan of Glumičić's noses initially—I was actually convinced that surgeons here in the States couldn't nail the specific tip refinement I need—but then I looked through Ostojić's portfolio and realized I was wrong. His work is actually quite impressive.
Of course, it ultimately comes down to personal preference. Both are top-tier specialists with massive amounts of experience performing rhinoplasties 😂 so you likely won't make a mistake either way. In fact, I was at Ostojić's office for a follow-up a few days ago, and he mentioned he has performed nearly 2,000 nose surgeries to date. That is a serious track record.🙏
@ Zachary Nguyen29, believe me, I know the feeling! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reopened this thread or refreshed the same articles and websites just to absorb more detail. 😍 It’s a completely natural reaction. Honestly, I’ve even had vivid dreams about it all…

@ Noah Moore4, I’m assuming you’ve reached out to former clients or people who have actually sat in their chairs, perhaps asking them to send over some before-and-after shots. If you haven't done that yet, it might be worth your time. Even though they both maintain professional websites where you can gauge their specific styles, a direct recommendation carries more weight. Personally, I find Ostojić's portfolio much more convincing because he provides full-face shots rather than just tight profile views. If you’re still stuck between the two of them, my advice is simple: book consultations with both and let the better professional win you over. 😂
Ashley Young34 said:I’m feeling the exact same way 😁, though my main anxiety centers on my profile 😂, and I can only hope everything gets sorted out smoothly 😍

It’s going to work out perfectly for you. 😁
Only eleven days left, right? Are you feeling the anticipation? I imagine you're checking this thread at least twenty times a day. 😂
My nose looks perfectly fine in some photos, but in others... 😢
I actually think that’s a pretty clever idea.
I might just try shrinking my own nose that way; I have enough photos of myself to build a whole gallery, and besides, I’ve got Photoshop at my disposal. 😁
I just need to work on mastering some of the more complex tasks first... 😂
Rebecca Gomez37 said:I couldn't agree more!👍
In America, things usually work out differently, so I’m hoping my experience ends up being just as positive as yours.🙄
The only thing I told the doctor was that a nose clip is absolutely out of the question; I refuse to let them constrict it because, honestly, after seeing some photoshopped shots of myself, I realized I end up looking like a synchronized swimmer wearing one of those ridiculous nose plugs.😂

So, who exactly handled that Photoshop job for you?
Rebecca Gomez37 said:With Glumicic, you’re looking at a price of roughly $1,800, and I'm certain of that.👍
I suspect that’s just the standard baseline, the average, if you will...
There are certainly pricier options, like Zambelli or Zgaljardic; my own procedure with a specialist in St. Louis ran closer to $2,000.
I find that Smith's pricing hard to believe if it's actually accurate!🤷
The professionals all tend to stay in sync, and when you consider that during surgery you have the lead surgeon alongside anesthesiologists, technicians, and nurses, it makes sense why the total bill for the operation ends up being so high overall.

It isn't quite true that everyone stays in lockstep regarding their rates. There can be discrepancies exceeding $3.25!
I was nearly floored when a different doctor gave me a quote for a procedure that costs about $23,000 with Smith. This particular doctor was asking for $12, which represents a massive gap in cost.
One really needs to do their due diligence on pricing before selecting a highly skilled, proven surgeon. Ultimately, cosmetic surgery isn't something where you should pinch every penny, though a higher price tag doesn't necessarily guarantee a superior outcome.

Furthermore, I know for a fact that Smith offers a financing plan. He mentioned that he didn't offer installment payments previously, but he noted that the market has shifted and everyone has to adapt to current economic realities.
I forgot—it’s a shame about your lips, but once you get that nose sorted out, everything will look much better. Besides, there are those cosmetic products nowadays designed specifically to make your lips swell up using mint and chili extracts 😉.
Another solution: you just need to kiss a lot, and honestly, it works! 😘
Ashley Young34 said:I appreciate the encouragement. 😉I’m hopeful that everything will turn out alright. 😛I should probably mention that I’ve officially thrown in the towel on the oral side of things this time around. 🤣To be honest, I still feel like that’s pushing the risk factor a bit too far. 😁You’re right. I need to stay busy—keep my head down and stack up as much work as possible. If I can keep my mind occupied with constant tasks, maybe I won't have to dwell on the upcoming surgery. 😁
I will provide an update on February 22nd. I'll let you know once everything is finalized. 😍
pusa 😘

I appreciate the kiss, but don't get ahead of yourself; we have at least another hundred messages to exchange before February 22nd rolls around. 😂
By any chance, my father's birthday actually falls on the very same day as your surgery, so I am certain this will be a lucky day!
Go ahead, keep drowning yourself in work. I’m sure that’ll be just incredibly helpful for you.

Look, you should definitely get your hair removal sorted before the surgery. Recovery is an unpredictable business, and there is absolutely no reason to be dealing with that kind of inconvenience when you're trying to focus on healing. It’s just common sense. 😍
Ashley Young34 said:I’ve finished running all my tests today, and I’m officially in the clear. 😁 I am ready for surgery. 😛
Now, I am simply waiting for the clock to run out, hoping this entire ordeal passes quickly and reaches a favorable conclusion. 😍

Don't worry, everything is going to turn out just fine. 😉
Once this whole ordeal is finally over, you’re going to look so incredible that it’ll be nothing short of divine.
There is absolutely nothing to fear. You are in capable, steady hands. Before you know it, you’ll be checking in with us yourself, sporting a brand-new look and a bright smile, telling everyone just how thrilled you are with the results. 😍

If I were in your shoes, waiting on surgery, I’d try to pile as much onto my plate as possible right now. I made a point of staying constantly busy just to keep my mind from spiraling into anxiety over the procedure. And yet, despite all that effort to stay distracted, I still found myself checking this forum at least fifteen times a day. 😂
