Why can't I report this myself? Honestly, I feel like I should have more say since it's my thread. It seems like the mods haven't stepped in because I reported it directly to them, but if they aren't going to act, they should at least say why. I get that they might have missed it—I can't be online every single day—but if they're choosing not to respond, they should just say so. Otherwise, it looks like they're the ones breaking the site rules.
I want to report this user. They’re intentionally trolling my thread, hijacking the conversation over the last 28 posts, and manipulating the vote count with fake engagement. I’m asking the mods to step in and issue a sanction if necessary. I’ve already flagged the specific posts using the exclamation point icon.
(please don't vote for me. I'm really not some legendary user here, and I'm pretty new too. I haven't exactly left a mark on this forum yet, so just vote for someone you actually remember.)
I'm honestly pretty bummed, but I'm dropping this thread. It took a turn I didn't intend for it to take. My goal was actually to help everyone out—especially the moderators. I thought fostering a bit of healthy competition among them might push everyone to improve, which would ultimately benefit us users too. I won't be posting any more on this here.
I actually opened the exact same thread in the appeals and card section, but hey, if that’s how you want to handle it, I respect the decision.
Without me keeping this thread updated, it’s basically dead. I won't be posting any more updates here—I'll be moving everything over to the main forum instead. If you want to keep this open, go ahead, but just think about it.
Because there’s way too much spam and trolling going on, and since the thread hasn't been moved to my requested section, I'm asking the moderators to just close this one out so I can start a fresh thread

Data processing and voting totals up to post #6:
manchild, I only counted one vote for you—the first one for Nica—since the rules say you can only vote for one moderator per day.
I'm also asking the admins to let me edit this thread because I need to fix something; otherwise, it looks messy. Also, please move this topic over to the appeals section.
I honestly don't get why this thread is still up. It feels like watching a TV special on how thieves break into cars or bypass home security systems just for "educational purposes." Would a guide on hacking computers even be allowed in the tech section?
Is this topic actually in the best interest of the site?
I wanted to start this thread as a running vote for our best moderator. I'll update it regularly based on your feedback. Since there are too many mods to run a formal poll—and trust me, I spent way too much time digging through the forums trying to figure out how to make one—this will have to work differently. I really hope we can keep this thread open rather than having it locked or deleted. It should give the mods, super-mods, and admins some motivation to step up their game and help those who need to improve. It could be a really useful tool. I'll kick things off. Since I'm casting the first votes, these guys are officially starting at the top. The rules: Edited posts won't count toward the tally. You can cast one vote per day, and you can only vote for one person each time. No double-voting for the same person. The number in parentheses represents the total votes. If this stays open, I’ll keep adding updates here. Just a heads-up: keep it civil. No fighting, trolling, or spamming. Any rule-breaking will be reported and likely penalized.

edit: Nica, please move this to the appeals and comments section if you can, 🙂 or maybe someone else can help out.
Maria Barnes, thanks for reaching out and explaining the situation with the ads. I get why we need them to keep things running, and you have my full support on that. The real question is what the long-term strategy looks like for this site. It feels like even the admins and mods aren't quite sure what's coming next. Do you have any specific plans for the future? Are we looking at using the ad revenue to upgrade to a better server so the site runs faster? Will there be more ads like these, and is the current layout permanent? I know that’s a lot to ask, but we're all wondering.
That’s hilarious. You were the first one laughing and posting about it when I got mine. I hope you get hit with the same thing soon so you can actually understand how it feels. Maybe then you'll learn some respect. 🙂
haha, this thread is pretty funny. I get what’s going on here and realize we aren't actually talking about Apple, but I have a few thoughts of my own.
Apple really fell off in recent years. Who even thinks about them lately? You hear about LG, Samsung, BlackBerry, or the iPhone, but remember when they were the undisputed kings of mobile? How did they let themselves get blindsided like that? They missed the whole touch screen wave and the chance to sync handheld computers with phones, even though that tech had been sitting there for seven or eight years.
As for the post itself, it's hilarious, but the ads don't bother me. I just hope they don't start running weird, trashy ads. It doesn't bug me personally. Maybe the long-time users and older members are annoyed because they're used to how the forum used to look, but things change, and this forum is no different. We'll see what happens next.
He isn't breaking any rules here. People only start breaking rules when they feel like they're being banned for nothing, and maybe the mod just phrased things poorly. rustydrifter10 said no, and that's the final word, but I was just stating my opinion above.
