Anyone planning on picking up the iPhone 4, their smallest smartphone?

Alright, let’s just lay it all out there—we all saw what those geniuses over at Apple's marketing department and the forum leadership pulled on us today... so, how are we feeling about it?

Are you actually gonna rush out to the store tomorrow to grab that "miracle" phone? Because apparently, you can snag one at *Verizon* right now starting $3.00!

Or maybe you'll just toss it aside with total disgust if it ever happens to land in your hands?

Or—and I'm throwing this third option out there—do you think this whole brainwashing stunt is actually gonna work... leaving some kind of permanent mark so that, down the road, you'll find yourself subconsciously craving this dark little object?

haha, this thread is pretty funny. I get what’s going on here and realize we aren't actually talking about Apple, but I have a few thoughts of my own.

Apple really fell off in recent years. Who even thinks about them lately? You hear about LG, Samsung, BlackBerry, or the iPhone, but remember when they were the undisputed kings of mobile?
How did they let themselves get blindsided like that? They missed the whole touch screen wave and the chance to sync handheld computers with phones, even though that tech had been sitting there for seven or eight years.

As for the post itself, it's hilarious, but the ads don't bother me. I just hope they don't start running weird, trashy ads. It doesn't bug me personally. Maybe the long-time users and older members are annoyed because they're used to how the forum used to look, but things change, and this forum is no different.
We'll see what happens next.

It’s not even about whether I’ll buy an iPhone 4 anymore; honestly, I’m seriously considering just logging off this forum for good! It isn't just that the layout has become a total disaster—especially for those of us using widescreen monitors—but the way they are shoving ULTRA-UBER-AGGRESSIVE advertisements down our throats from both sides makes it impossible to actually use the site properly!

And it’s not just the sheer aggression of the placement; these ads are practically stabbing you in the eyes and hitting your central nervous system like a physical assault!

Besides, who on earth needs more space for ads when the forum already has its own dedicated "marketing" section? Everyone’s out here asking questions, but it's clear some people are just looking to grab a quick buck... and frankly, this is a complete and utter catastrophe!

I have to admit, in all my time online, I haven't encountered such a blatant, shameless barrage of advertising on any other forum.

I expect them to revert to the old way or come up with a legitimate solution, because right now, this is absolute rock bottom in every sense of the word.

There’s one more option missing from the list: they’ll just shove you straight onto Facebook to blast all your "friends" about this supposedly incredible deal—the forum will see a massive influx of new users, and I’m sure you’ll all be sitting there hitting that like button enthusiastically.

My head is absolutely throbbing🙂
Is there any actual legal recourse here against the forum owners, those "marketing geniuses," and certain major telecom providers? 🤔 🤷

Oh, and before I forget—these guys are absolute amateurs—subjecting us to eye-searing advertisements while failing at the simplest task of fixing a basic drop-down menu🙂

I have my adblocker running so I don't actually see any of those advertisements, but I happened to catch a screenshot of what the forum looks like with them enabled, and after seeing that mess, I definitely have no intention of buying that particular phone. 😂

This is truly an absolute nightmare.

The ads take up way too much room, especially on higher resolutions. Since the forum itself has a fixed width but the ads don't, if you're running a 1920x1200 setup, those ads are taking up nearly 50% of your screen width...

Man, I’m seriously considering picking up a phone like this one. The Scotsman was actually telling me that the forum runs way smoother when you're browsing from a mobile device—not that he's better at using it or anything, just that the experience is much more seamless! 😢
