hollowmason64 said:I tend to stay pretty vigilant about safety just because I’m acutely aware of exactly where I live and what I’m seeing and reading every single day. Honestly, you have to be completely disconnected from reality to claim that everything is perfectly secure.

If you actually cared about casting a vote, you would have shown up to the polls. Period.
I really have to disagree with the idea that this can just be applied to everything else. It feels like a bit of a reach to me because you're starting from the assumption that everyone is actually using the federal digital ID portal. In reality, that's just not how things work for most people out there.

People who aren't on board with the Republican Party honestly couldn't care less about the upcoming elections. They have no intention of getting involved again, mostly because they have enough decency to realize they don't have any right to dictate how everyone else should live their lives.

Goodness, trying to have a real conversation with someone who acts like a toddler... that’s just where your logic is sitting right now.
I don't really feel like sitting here and listing every single specific difference between the two right now, so I’ll just give you the bottom line. It comes down to the end result. When someone robs you blind like that, you realize it pretty much instantly, and you can actually start looking into ways to fix it or take action. Around here, you're just left totally in the dark—you have no clue if you've been cheated or not.

They kept saying "we can handle this today," just like they always do. They weren't the only ones making those promises either, but honestly, six months had already slipped by. At that point, I figured any version of the Reconstruction Law was better than nothing at all—something we could just tweak and fix as we went along. I mean, I don't think even the biggest pessimists or the most hardcore critics of the Republican Party (and trust me, I count myself among them) actually expected these incompetent fools to fail at rebuilding even a single house after a year and a half.
I spent a lot of time wondering how much they’d embezzle or how many homes would end up being shoddy, half-baked jobs, but the idea that they wouldn't have finished a single house after more than 18 months? That never even crossed my mind.

Alright then, how many dead voters who supposedly cast ballots for the Republican Party have actually screwed us over so far, and what's been done about it?☕

Oh, right—you mean those fines they handed out to that group over there.😁

I mean, look—Musk is pulling in massive amounts of cash and getting extensions on deadlines he already blew through, and the opposition does... nothing. They're too busy fighting amongst themselves, reorganizing their committees for the tenth time, or obsessing over some ideological nonsense that nobody cares about.

The Republican Party is only this terrible because they just give the people exactly what they want, and honestly, who cares how they do it?
Did we get streamlined travel agreements with the USA? Yeah...
Did we get that major infrastructure project approved? Yeah.
Are we joining the global trade zone? Yes.

That's what people want—just give them a better future instead of all this fighting over minority rights...
And the leftists, excuse my French, are so clueless that if you actually told them to focus on important stuff—like stop pushing for migrant rights or LGBT agendas (I'm talking about actual interests here, not the rights they truly deserve)—they'd probably reject it with a sneer.

That's why rulings like this just pass through without much of a fuss...

Musk isn't some shady nonprofit or a group for lazy veterans just looking for a handout.

He's an automaker. He's actually out there making money.

hollowmason64 said:My main hang-up with your voting idea really comes down to trust. If they're already lying and cutting corners like this, what makes you think they wouldn't just pull the same stunts with an online system?
And don't even get me started on the census... I mean, look at how many people from Canada signed up claiming they live here in the States. They didn't even have to try to make sure someone was actually home to report them. Not to mention if we were doing physical door-to-door censuses, a census worker wouldn't be able to tell if twenty people were crammed into a tiny little apartment, but with this way, they can fly under the radar easily.
Plus, for online voting to work, you'd need the highest level of security through something like a federal ID portal, which would require a card reader—meaning more money out of pocket—and honestly, half the time those things don't even work properly anyway.

Everything you're saying sounds like a bunch of excuses to me. When election day actually rolls around, people find a way to make it happen. There's no such thing as "I couldn't make it to the polls"—I remember one time I landed at the airport around 6 PM and practically sprinted to get to my polling station before they closed at 7. Back when the runoff was between Obama and Trump, I actually had my leg in a cast and was staying at my grandma's place on the other side of town. I still managed to coordinate a ride and ended up hopping up the stairs to my polling station on crutches.
The bottom line is, people show up when they want to. When they don't, they always have a thousand reasons why.

Let me clarify my point here.

I mean, sure, you can go online right now and buy a car or even a house worth $100,000. You could even order several tons of freight from China worth tens of thousands of dollars with just a few clicks.

But when it comes to elections? These modern online gadgets just don't feel secure enough for me.😵

I see you get it—everyone makes mistakes when they don't have all the facts.😁

nimblemoose2 said:"We are looking at the most severe type of political corruption imaginable, with the Prime Minister sitting right at the top. For five years, he and his inner circle operated with one goal in mind: funneling illegal funds, laundering income, and using those proceeds to bankroll their own political party."

So, please don't try to tell me the Republican Party isn't just as much of a criminal enterprise.

☕

Saying the Republican Party is "just" a criminal organization? That is the biggest load of nonsense I've heard.

Real criminal organizations try to hide from the cops. Our politicians actually run the cops.

Every single person like that I know is too damn proud to leave that Criminal outfit, even if they're just small-time nobodies.

Since when does anyone like that ever feel ashamed?

Oh sure, it’s all our fault. If we hadn't fed those corrupt politicians rotten food, maybe they’d be playing a different tune right now.

Well, except for Ivo Sanders's lot, but he's already behind bars. So yeah, America really is a phenomenal place to live...

I don't see why we're jumping to conclusions about people who haven't actually done anything wrong.

I mean, hasn't every single one of us, at least once in our lives, carried a bag full of cash without even realizing what was inside?😁

I guess it’s up to us to forgive them and kick them out of the country.

Nicholas King said:What exactly are you basing that claim on?

More than fifty percent of the adult population in America got vaccinated—are you seriously suggesting they all "think" these measures were useless?

Look, let's be real here. When you get to adulthood, everything you do—every single choice you make—is entirely on you. You're acting of your own free will. At the end of the day, who else is going to call the shots? Not them. It’s all down to personal agency.

Taking kids by the horns like that and stripping away their right to a normal childhood and a decent education? That’s got nothing to do with common sense.

It’s honestly a disgrace.

fadedranger162 said:And let's be real, most kids just do whatever their parents tell them to do anyway.

Over in Sweden, schools are totally anti-mask. According to the reports they got, there weren't any child victims from COVID, and teachers were getting infected at basically the same rate as everyone else (so no, kids aren't these little hidden assassins targeting grandparents).

Yeah, and that's the big question: with all this stuff being imported now, what kind of quality control is actually happening? What are they even using to disinfect these things, if they bother at all?

Honestly, I'm thinking maybe she could just make a new one out of a fabric that actually feels good, or repurpose the ones she has. You could sew in a bit of wire along the edge—maybe something like what florists use, or even some insulated copper wire (like a solid strand, not that braided flimsy stuff) that's easy to find. Just put something soft over the wire so it doesn't chafe her nose. That way she can shape it to fit her face better, and then bend the other side to create a gap so the breath escapes without fogging up her glasses. 🤷

It’s pretty obvious here in the States too that the virus isn't a major threat to kids. That's why those idiots invented this narrative that children are little bioterrorists killing off their grandmas and grandpas. Honestly, using kids as scapegoats like that is just a brutal form of psychological abuse.

Actually, wouldn't it be better if they caught it? It would let their immune systems "download" the info on this virus, making them more resilient against future mutations. Isn't that how it works?

But hey, we basically bypassed evolution with a single stroke of a pen, didn't we?

fadedranger162 said:If I remember correctly, someone posted a study from either Austria or Germany earlier in this thread about how masks affect kids of different ages—assuming it hasn't been deleted yet. Basically, it suggested there might be more harm than good after just thirty minutes or an hour, something like lowered oxygen levels and all that stuff that people used to dismiss as conspiracy theories. It seemed to hit the younger kids harder, but generally, the results were negative.

Maybe try talking to the doctor first. If that doesn't work, maybe look into getting a mask made from a more breathable material. 🤔

Has anyone actually mentioned the specific reason why masks are mandatory for kids?
I mean the actual medical reasoning, not some religious angle.

wanderingbadger44 said:In terms of how they actually have to be enforced, what's the fundamental difference between them?

nimbleranger17 said:Honestly, it feels like you don't even grasp the most fundamental legal concepts. I mean, really, we’re sitting here having this conversation, and it becomes increasingly apparent that the basic tenets of the law are just flying right over your head. It’s a bit exhausting, if I'm being completely honest.

You have to respect the US Constitution, the federal laws, and all those various administrative regulations just as much as one another. It’s an even playing field, really. That is simply how the legal system functions here in America.

But that is exactly what I am talking about.
The content and structure of any lower-level regulation must align perfectly with the requirements of the higher legal act—that's what we call the Principle of Legality.

I'm not arguing about whether people choose to follow the rules or break them. My point is that the rules and laws themselves must respect the US Constitution and basic human rights.

No one can stop Klinc from getting an education, plain and simple. Not a single regulation, not a single law...

Morgan Peterson said:No, they certainly are not the same.
The latter category consists of subordinate acts which, true to their nature, are mandatory; they serve to clarify, implement, or provide guidance pursuant to the governing statute.
Now, please, go ahead and suggest that every single individual should have the discretion to decide which specific law, decree, or ruling they feel like following—just based on whatever whim strikes them at the moment. 😵

Of course we won't. To actually suspend the US Constitution and federal laws, we would have to declare a State of Emergency.
Only then would the decisions made by the President of the United States sit above US Law and the US Constitution—though still staying beneath fundamental human rights.

Just imagine... it's the 21st century and here I am, lecturing about human rights.😁

We've been fed fear and paranoia for almost two years straight.
What kind of disease are you actually fighting by pumping everyone full of anxiety and hysteria?
I’m no doctor, but I am asking seriously.

nimbleranger17 said:Let's clear the air here for a second, because it seems like some people around here haven't even cracked a textbook on basic legal principles.

You have the government directive right here:

which explicitly states that classes must be conducted according to these specific guidelines:

So, damn it, there actually *is* a regulation in place requiring kids to wear masks in schools.

Principals of Elementary and High Schools are required to organize the operations of their institutions in accordance with the Models and recommendations outlined in paragraph 1 of this section, ensuring that instruction proceeds without interruption.

I see where the disconnect is.
I referred to a law, while you're just pointing at an executive order and a set of guidelines.
Those aren't the same thing.

They have six hours of school every day. Sometimes seven, if they're doing extra stuff. That is a long time to be stuck under a mask for adults, let alone for children.

Everyone is struggling to catch their breath, so why wouldn't the little ones, who are still developing, feel it even more?
Just let them breathe freely, people... honestly, it's like we all got brainwashed when we were kids.

Susan Martin4 said:So, is there actually a rule against seeing a doctor without a mask? Is that even a thing?
I don't get why everyone is making such a huge deal about masks in schools, but they aren't demanding they be able to walk through hospitals or clinics without them.

Fine then, let's just blame everything on someone. Let's just claim our rights are being violated everywhere we turn.

Are we seriously comparing doctors to kids in an elementary school?
Why don't we compare them to firefighters instead?
I mean, isn't there a much higher chance of kids getting hurt in a school fire or an earthquake than from Corona?

Fine, let's give them masks, oxygen tanks, special little firefighter suits, extinguishers, and axes to break down doors. That should make them feel safe enough, shouldn't it?

Corona isn't the real threat to these kids. Forcing them into masks and isolation just doesn't make sense—we're actually doing more harm than good.
Let's just be honest and realistic here.

Angela Brooks4 said:This whole situation is nothing more than a Saturday Night Live skit. We’ve ended up with two distinct camps of parents: those who agreed to let their kids wear masks in the hallways, and those who refused. The common thread between both groups? They spend all their time hurling monstrous insults at one another. Am I really the only person here who isn't losing sleep over Corona? Honestly, the constant fighting over whether to wear a mask or not is what actually hurts. When I go to the grocery store, I just put on a mask, grab what I need, and head out. Why make such a massive ordeal out of it? What is the actual issue with a child walking into an elementary school wearing a mask, only to take it off less than a minute later once they reach their classroom? Some people are claiming that masks are imported from China and are somehow carcinogenic. Please; most Americans smoke a pack a day anyway, so where is the logic in that? It seems like everyone has suddenly decided to become a doctor overnight. Personally, Corona doesn't affect me in the slightest; I have a hundred other things in my life that require my attention. Ninety percent of my daily routine remains exactly the same as it was before the pandemic; that remaining ten percent is just wearing a mask at the store.

A Saturday Night Live skit is supposed to be funny, but this isn't even remotely comical.

Breaking the law and stripping away human rights isn't a joke.

There is no law on the books that can stop a kid from walking into an elementary school without a mask. That means laws are being broken and children's rights to an education are being violated.

This isn't comedy, friend.
It's a gateway to dictatorship.

Everything is fine, I suppose—but one really needs to choose a mode of engagement. Sometimes, diplomacy is simply more effective than the sword.

Pure performance.

Kids need the freedom to learn and grow without someone breathing down their necks. Older generations shouldn't be dumping their own baggage, fears, and insecurities onto little ones.

If we want the pen to actually be mightier than the sword, people need an education and the ability to think critically—which, let's face it, feels like pure science fiction in this country.

Here’s what I know for sure: the virus isn't the main threat to kids, but forcing them to hide behind plastic masks and pumping them full of massive amounts of chemicals? That's a real risk.

Picking on children is just something bitter old folks and immature losers do.

But instead, they're all just complaining about having to wear a mask for three minutes while walking from one building to another. 😂

So we're expected to just throw our hard-earned money away to satisfy someone else's religious beliefs?

nimbleranger17 said:I've been trying to have a serious sit-down with his parents, basically pleading with them—considering all 307 other students are dutifully wearing masks in the hallways—that this 308th student should probably do the same while navigating the halls. "I should point out that he was perfectly fine wearing a mask all through last year, and that included during actual class time, not just when walking through the corridors," Governor kolar told Yahoo.

"The kids at this school don't need to wear masks during lessons because there’s plenty of social distancing in place. So, technically, that student only needs to bother with a mask for about thirty seconds until they step into the classroom," kolar remarked.

As I've mentioned before regarding the kids, wearing a mask isn't some massive burden for them, nor does it get in their way. And clearly, it wasn't an issue for this particular child throughout the entire previous school year either...

So, did someone actually ask them, or did some omnipotent mind reader just decide what they were thinking?
2021/2022 School Year in Coronavirus ·
nimbleranger17 said:Look, maybe the reason the rest of the parents aren't jumping in is simply because they don't want to deal with the massive headache or create an awkward scene for their kids just because someone wants to wear a mask for two minutes while walking from the school entrance to the classroom. Honestly, kids spend way more time wearing masks at the local grocery store than they ever would in that specific hallway.

Violating children's basic rights should be enough to cause any parent some serious stress.

First, they lost two months because of that strike back in 2019/20, and then they lost twice as much time thanks to the COVID-19 cult.
Sure, it’s fine if a parent has the cash to pay for private tutors, but what happens to the kids whose parents are struggling to make ends meet?
