Well, mine isn't that specific model; you've misread the specs. 🍿

As far as I am aware, I purchased this particular version (the one marked OC) http://www.bestbuy.com/p/product-details-link

On Centro.com, there was an entry back in 1928, $8.00 😁

With the dollar climbing steadily, isn't it inevitable that we will see it surge past $2,000 USD? 🍿

There is a 6-month warranty. 🤦

The link provided is through $667 😁

Are you actually factoring in the shipping costs $13
?

Is there any possibility that the IRS will extend the GFI filing deadline until the end of the week, following their usual pattern from previous years?🤔

If he had actually pulled the trigger two weeks ago when the window was open, then we might actually have a meaningful debate about whether he missed his chance or not.

The Benchmark Index (Win7) immediately spits out a 7.9 rating, which is essentially the ceiling. 🍿

The graphics performance and gaming capabilities are hitting top-tier marks. 🙏

Give it another year of these same upgrades and the thing will practically be flying.

Adam Moore3 said:I haven't been following this thread closely, but from what I can gather, did you actually pay full price for an R9 280 OC through some sort of workaround or special deal $633? If that is indeed the case, then I must say, you didn't come out ahead. No hard feelings, but I am simply being honest with you.

Just take a look at your $200.

Stop talking nonsense; my intention was always to acquire a card in the
$667 😁
price range.
Look, if you actually have the cash to burn, go ahead and grab an RTX 3080, but for me, this card represents the absolute ceiling when compared to a 7770 🍿
.
Allow me to pose a question to the community (and feel free to ignore this clown): is it permissible to stress-test a graphics card during its warranty period without having the manufacturer claim user negligence? Furthermore, does this specific model come with a factory overclock, or not? 🤔

I maintain that I made no error in selecting this card; in my estimation, up to $667 it remains the ultimate best buy.

What would you all suggest for an upgrade at this stage?
My initial thought was to pick up a new processor.😵

I am reaching out to this community because, as I previously mentioned, I believe I have squeezed every last drop of performance out of my current GPU—it truly was the ultimate value play.

Sauber overtook Vettel, while putting intense pressure on Hamilton 🤣

It seems Ferrari is once again falling victim to their own tactical errors
Casey Hill57 said:Honestly, one of those two journalists is a die-hard Ferrari fan, and even the other guy doesn't seem to mind at all, believe me. 😉

Why does a victory for Ferrari catch them off guard? For instance, when Red Bull beat Mercedes last year right in the middle of their internal rivalry, they acted like it was perfectly normal. Yet here we are, where 90% of the coverage focuses on Ferrari, and it’s almost exclusively negative commentary.🤦

From now on, I'll just stick to watching the Americans and how they constantly lecture the Germans (Hamilton).
According to The Wall Street Journal, the Ferrari Formula 1 team has received a massive financial injection, boosting their budget for this season from $270 million to $370 million.

"We are officially back in the hunt alongside Red Bull and Williams; our goal is to overtake them. At the same time, we have to focus on ourselves and work on closing that gap with Mercedes," stated team principal Maurizio Arrivabene.

It’s about time Ferrari started putting some real money on the table, isn't it? And honestly, it seems to be paying off already, especially since the boss actually seems to have his feet on the ground for once.🍿

They’ve even gone as far as constructing an entirely new factory.🙏
Red Bull leads with a gap, following a masterclass performance by Sebastian Vettel 🙏

Now Alonso can go back to claiming that Ferrari is lagging by thirty seconds, just like what we saw in Australia 🍿

I am anticipating significant upgrades to Ferrari's aero package before we head to Europe, specifically to ensure their chassis can actually compete with Mercedes-Benz

Regarding this whole tire situation—who exactly is blaming Mercedes when the high degradation levels are precisely why everyone else ran out of rubber? Once again, the haters are trying to diminish the magnificent victory of Sebastian Vettel, much like those fanatics over at Sport Club Mexico who clearly harbor nothing but animosity toward Ferrari
wanderingbison9 said:Does Maurizio Arrivabene look like he’s just realized Ferrari has lost everything? 🤦

A leader of his caliber is precisely what Ferrari requires; one must constantly strive for excellence, after all. While Ferrari possesses genuine raw speed, they simply need to fine-tune their aerodynamics just a touch more—especially since Mercedes was breathing down their necks through those technical corners. Regardless, we are witnessing the magnificent pairing of Sebastian Vettel and Ferrari🙏 🙏 🙏
crimsonbadger24 said:Honestly, if they had just been sitting on that fresh set of tires, I reckon Hamilton would’ve been pulling a gap over Vettel about as big as the one Vettel had on him, and honestly, who knows if even Rosberg wouldn't have blown past him at that point.
And man, if it wasn't for the SC, everything would’ve played out exactly like the last race.
I really, really want to believe this is some kind of sign that the season is actually going to be interesting, but let's be real, we are still a long, long way from seeing any real drama.

Stop hesitating—turn up the volume, grab a beer, and start listening to the German-Italian anthem.

Larry Ortiz5 said:Brian Campbell36 It seems to me you have money to burn; why didn't you just opt for a more powerful card, such as a Radeon R9 290 or a GeForce GTX 970? 🤔

If I actually had the capital, I would have upgraded to an Intel Core i7 system immediately and sold off this entire rig
☕
Furthermore, I would have chosen a GeForce GTX 980 without a second thought, given that it lacks those frustrating bugs where you're limited to only 3.5 GB of VRAM like you are with the GeForce GTX 970
🍿

I am counting down the days until Monday so I can finally drop this beast into my machine; hopefully, a triple-fan setup will be sufficient to keep things cool, as from what I can gather, everyone seems to struggle with thermal spikes when using a Radeon R9

I simply find satisfaction in reinvesting in my hardware every few years. I have plenty of colleagues who are still running PCs that are five years old without ever having even replaced the thermal paste on their CPU or GPU; to me, that is the equivalent of driving a car for five years without ever taking it in for a single oil change
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
crimsonstag84 said:All of that would be handled just fine by my 360W power supply.

Why on earth are you running your RAM at a frequency of 1333 MHz? 🤔

It isn't as if these components are so "ancient" that some cheap, off-brand power supply from an overseas discount site could somehow manage them. 😁
I am planning a full system upgrade sometime in 2016.
Gill01's Corner in Desktops ·
Timothy Kim60 said:It’s a decent machine, I suppose, though the RAM and power supply are certainly excessive for this build.

One can never have enough RAM, can one? Furthermore, considering this graphics card demands at least 600 watts just to function, why bother being stingy when you can simply draw from a full kilowatt?

fadedorca66 said:Processors last practically forever. 😁 Your Sandy Bridge will likely outlive every one of us combined; before that chip gives up the ghost, your motherboard and everything else attached to it will have long since expired.

While it is admittedly an older architecture, Haswell offered perhaps a 20-30% leap in performance, a gap which you have attempted to bridge through overclocking.

Timothy Kim60 said:You are exaggerating quite a bit; when looking at clock-for-clock synthetic benchmarks, Ivy Bridge showed a marginal improvement of about 6%, and Haswell or Haswell Refresh added roughly another 6%, totaling maybe a 12% difference in raw clock speed comparison. In actual gaming scenarios and real-world applications, there is virtually no discernible difference.

Most people are running monitors with a 60-75Hz refresh rate, which implies that any frame rate exceeding that threshold remains entirely imperceptible.

I was just on the verge of purchasing what I considered a "new processor," but based on your collective wisdom, it seems unnecessary. 😁

If I were to follow your logic, what exactly should constitute an upgrade in my current situation?
