Hip Issues - General Discussion Thread

It happened like this: my father fell from maybe three feet up and struck some iron. After being checked out at the hospital, nothing was broken, but he suffered a hip contusion. Because of this, he can't put any weight on that leg. They told him he has to wait until a specialist is assigned to handle his case. So, I am wondering—has anyone here on the forum dealt with a similar issue? Was everything alright afterward? How long did the recovery take, and is everything okay now?
