Hey there, friends!

I just finished filming a brand new movie, everyone! Now, look, I’ll be the first to admit it probably won't hit the cinematic heights of something like "The Law!" or "Over 35," but hey, I am putting in the work and giving it my all! I love you guys so much, sending big hugs!

Thanks, buddy, get that crap moving!
Hey there! So, look, Dalibor Matanić has his own dedicated thread going on here, but I honestly feel like I’m a much more talented creator than he is, which leads me to believe it would be only fair if I were granted my very own topic too! You can actually check out "my" work at the following link:

Also, we do group events, you know, like throwing birthday parties for ladies between the ages of 17 and 23—not just any time, mind you, but specifically around 10 PM—and we serve plenty of pizza, provided there are enough women around.

P.S. I am preemptively asking my great creative friend (and by greatness, I am referring strictly to the size of his anatomy), northerncrane4, to do me a massive favor and let this thread stay active, because I am dying to hear what American cinephiles think about some truly GREAT American films.

Thanks everyone!

Now, I’ve gotta say, my take on this is purely subjective, whereas yours feels completely objective, and honestly, I am just totally loving the premise you've laid out here!

Anthony Smith3 said:Look, a parody is a parody... whether it's mocking some polished Hollywood flicks, historical events, Bush's politics, or whatever else.
At the end of the day, nobody’s out here making real satire—well, I’m certainly not—even if Elizabeth Garcia2 keeps at it, along with all those Monty Python fans and these modern-day parodies. I think we can all finally agree that "parody" movies like the Scary Movie franchise, Date Movie, Superhero Movie, Meet the Spartans, and all that other crap are just straight-up garbage.
Dismissing all parodies as one big pile of trash just because they don't fit your specific taste is unfair and honestly pretty stupid. Look, the concept isn't groundbreaking—it doesn't have to be. It just needs to be funny. And trust me, making a parody that actually lands is way harder than people think, otherwise we wouldn't be stuck dealing with the garbage we saw today.
Old-school parodies are just better. They’re actually clever, genuinely funny, and the creators actually understood how to pull off a parody. It’s pretty stupid to claim this genre lacks talent or that all these directors are bottom-of-the-barrel hacks. If you think that, you’re clearly ignoring legends like the Monty Python fans, Mel Brooks, Rob Reiner, and John Landis, who all shaped the genre.
Plus, you also have to account for the fact that some of those old-school parodies are actually highly acclaimed, top-tier movies... like...

Young Frankenstein
IMDb has it at an 8.0, and it’s sitting pretty at #236 on the Top 250 list based on user votes.
Rotten Tomatoes says it's sitting at a solid 93%.

Blazing Saddles
IMDb says it’s a 7.8/10.
Rotten Tomatoes says it's sitting at an 89%.

The Producers
IMDb says it's a 7.7. Not bad, I guess.
Rotten Tomatoes has it at 93%. Not bad.

Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery
IMDb says it's a 7.1/10.
Rotten Tomatoes says it’s sitting at 70%. Not bad, I guess.

The Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad!
IMDb says it's a 7.6/10.
Rotten Tomatoes says it's sitting at 88%. Not bad.

Airplane!
IMDb says it's a 7.8/10.
Rotten Tomatoes has it at a 98%.

Hot Shots!
IMDb says 6.4/10. Honestly, it’s a little low compared to the others, but it’s still a damn good score.
Rotten Tomatoes says it's sitting at 81%. Not bad.

Galaxy Quest
IMDb says 7.2/10.
Rotten Tomatoes says it's sitting at a solid 90%.

So... if we're calling these movies total garbage based on what critics and audiences say, then The Godfather and The Shawshank Redemption don't deserve any special treatment either.

Anyway, before I wrap this up, I gotta mention three other killer recent parodies that nobody else seems to have brought up yet...

Hot Fuzz - a parody of action movies in general... once again, the ratings and reviews speak for themselves
imdb - 8.0/10
rottentomatoes.com - 90%

Shaun of the Dead - a parody of zombie horror... and just like before, the critics and scores tell you everything you need to know...
imdb - 8.0/10 + ranked #245 on the top 250 list by audience votes
rottentomatoes.com - 91%

so

Kung Pow: Enter the Fist - a parody of kung fu flicks... slightly lower rated, but absolutely hilarious... nothing like the garbage they make today.

Whoa, hold on there! We really shouldn't be throwing the Scary Movie franchise and Epic movies into the same bucket because they aren't even in the same league! You see, those Epic movies were directed by Friedberg and Seltzer, whereas Zucker is actually the one responsible for Hero Movie and Scary Movie. And while I'll happily admit that anything directed by that duo is totally unwatchable, Zucker's films aren't even close to being that bad; honestly, they actually have their own little moments of brilliance here and there! Which is definitely something you can't say about F&S or that much-hyped Simon Pegg you brought up, who is also just total trash.
Zohan is the best! in Movies ·
"Oh hey, my name is Borat, I absolutely love disco dance parties, and I have this totally ridiculous amount of body hair, plus I’m putting in a ninja who has zero clue what’s going on around him, or maybe that's just me, and you just get Zohan."
Honestly, I feel like movies this uninspired and completely boring are nothing short of a total joke.

I absolutely love pretty much everything out there, except for those Epic movies and all this recent garbage being churned out, and honestly, I can't stand Mel Brooks either because he just isn't my thing at all.

[geek] This movie is absolute garbage. I have a few gripes here. Is it just me, or does Piccolo not even look green in this version? What on earth were they thinking?![/geek]

Honestly, who cares about the movie anyway! NOBODY IS WATCHING THIS TRASH!

Hey there! So, I’m carrying a bit of extra weight right now, and I am fully committed to shedding it! I’ve already jumped into some exercise, mostly playing basketball and stuff, but I’m honestly sitting here wondering if that’s actually the best move for me. I really need to drop this belly fat fast because I have a huge party coming up in December, so I’m looking for the absolute most efficient way to get results!

Check out my arms—they look pretty weak right now, and I’m dying to build up some serious strength, especially in my back too!
image

I’m actually feeling pretty good about my legs, though maybe they could use a little more muscle definition, but hey, I don't know, you guys be the judge!
image

And here is where all that extra weight is hanging out!
image

I seriously need some advice, like, ASAP—what should I be doing to lose weight? Oh, and also, if there are any pills or maybe some kind of supplement out there that works, please let me know! Ideally, I’d love something that means I don't have to spend hours at the gym because my schedule is just so packed, so if I could just pop a pill and then go for a quick thirty-minute walk with my dog, that would be perfect. I can't really go out for a run because it gets so freezing cold in the evenings, and since I don't usually roll out of bed until noon, my mornings aren't exactly prime running time!
