Where can I find posters and shirts with Gotovina's face? in Close to Politics ·
NoWa said:I guess I’ve finally ended up in the Mad Corner.👍

So, where on earth can I pick up some white t-shirts featuring the face of Gotovina? Should I check out Hrelica?$6.75 🤔

Maybe ask Darie for the address of that China-shop mentioned in the blog post.🤣 🤣

By the way, if you ever showed up in The Hague wearing one of those shirts (even if you aren't soaking wet), people would be buying you drinks all night long.👍 😁

Oh, please, let him have his delusions; even something as trivial as a wet shirt is a monumental event in his eyes. And hey, at least he’s allowed to watch, right? 😁 😁

Laura Roberts61 said:I usually enjoy Spanish films, but this one was pretty mediocre.
The downsides:
- You can see the ending coming from a mile away. Is there anyone out there who actually doesn't know how it ends?
- Those ridiculous scenes involving virtual reality flying and making out.
- Two women suddenly falling for a quadriplegic, after twenty-eight years of absolutely nothing happening. Talk about forced drama.🙄
- He’s on his deathbed and decides to publish a book—oh, how typical.😵

The upsides:
- A few witty moments.
- Decent acting (not that you should take my word for it, since I'm hardly an expert on acting, but there it is).😁

My rating: Honestly, I have no idea... just a movie I could have easily skipped...

Good grief, that is quite a harsh take! 😁 Well, alright then, if you didn't enjoy it, fine, but I have just a few observations.

- When you say you knew the ending, that is a bit like saying you knew the ending of Titanic—of course you did, but the ending isn't the point; it's the journey.

- Personally, I thought those virtual flight scenes were beautifully shot and very well conceived—when they started moving, I actually found myself thinking, "Where is this going?" 😁

- Regarding the romance—again, he isn't necessarily the focus here. They didn't fall for him because he's some hero; rather, they found a sense of salvation in him. Julia found a kindred spirit because she is also struggling, and Rose found an escape from her dull life and someone to care for—showing that even someone in his condition can offer so much to others.

And finally, I think I've found the likely reason why the film failed to move you:
Laura Roberts61 said:- The movie is just so overloaded with pathos that none of us five girls actually cried.

🙂 Perhaps you shouldn't go to the movies with a group of women. You probably spent the whole time giggling and gossiping about shopping anyway. 😁

It isn't "overloaded with pathos." It is actually quite humorous for the most part; I only found the scene where he leaves home and the moment his book arrives—only to realize he and Julia won't be passing away together—to be genuinely sad.

My dear Laura Roberts61, I think you completely missed the mark here. 😁 But no matter, to each their own. I won't get vulgar about it this time. 😁

An absolute masterpiece, a perfect five-star rating if I ever gave one. 👍 👍
Honestly, this stands out as one of my favorites from recent years. Amenabar was brilliant in both Abra los ojos and Spy, and while this film is a completely different beast, he hits that same high note here.

The cast is flawless—there isn't a single weak link in the bunch. The direction feels effortless and steady, and the cinematography is just stunning. What impressed me most, though, was the storytelling; the plot could have easily spiraled into cheap melodrama, yet it avoided that trap entirely, which is a massive achievement. Still, the emotional weight is heavy; there were two scenes where I was practically weeping like a baby. 😢

Spanish film - the best film😁

Yesterday marked the completion of 7 days 👍

To make matters worse, I hit a massive wall yesterday—a real crisis point. Honestly, I was almost tempted to just give up and walk down to the local 7-Eleven to grab a pack of cigarettes 😬 But in the end, my own laziness actually saved me; it’s one of those rare times when being unproductive actually works in my favor, don't you think? 😁
Groin pain in Health ·
Since I noticed from your profile that you're still quite young, 😁 this might just be a temporary phase as your reproductive system continues to mature. Now, I am certainly no medical expert in this field, but isn't it true that most men go through a similar period of groin pain during those formative years? It usually passes in time.

I've officially made it four days without a single cigarette 👍

Please, don't laugh—for someone like me, this feels like a massive victory 😬

Hello, I am Arthur Martinez7 and I am a cigarette addict. 😁

And now you all from the sidelines: Hi Arthur Martinez7!!!!! 😁

I actually managed to surprise myself yesterday. After several clumsy and half-hearted attempts at quitting, I finally hit a breaking point. I was coming home from the movie theater yesterday, coughing a bit and feeling quite lightheaded from lack of sleep and general exhaustion over the last few days, and then I actually stumbled while walking up the stairs... Next thing I know, I’ve crushed an almost full pack and tossed it straight into the trash, deciding right then and there that I truly don't need that crap anymore. It had infiltrated my life so deeply that practically every single activity felt tethered to a cigarette. And besides those physical triggers, there are all the other reasons, but I won't bore you by listing everything you've likely already mentioned.

Anyway, here I am today at work. Normally, by this time of day, I would have smoked nearly an entire pack; today, I haven't had one. 👍 I even had coffee with my secretary—a moment where I usually would have lit up at least two cigarettes—and today, nothing. 👍

It's going well so far, though the physical sensation of nicotine withdrawal is certainly hitting me; my eyes feel strangely itchy and there's a peculiar sensation in my throat. But honestly, forget the fear of gaining weight. I’ll probably pack on the pounds, I'm sure of it, but I couldn't care less right now. I've already polished off two bags of pretzels and I'm working my way through three sodas and two coffees. 😬

Let's keep moving. 👍 No smoking allowed during this recovery phase. I just hope I stop thinking about the whole ordeal so much very soon. 🙂

I am Tomislav Piplica.

Oh, right, true enough—it seems I’ve got a few Piplicas to deal with myself. 😁 😁

But where on earth am I supposed to look to you for reliable results? You were out there placing bets that Jadranka Kosor would win the election. 🤣

It’s really no surprise why life expectancy remains so low among Americans. Is there any athlete or any single team in our country that can actually pull off a win without the rest of us collectively sitting around 😁😁

Let’s hold a small memorial service for our Mexican friends 🙂 🙂

I wouldn't be surprised if Ivo Sanders comes out and declares, "Handball die!" 🤣

If we end up facing the Canadians, we're likely in for another disaster; they always seem to be a more difficult matchup for us than the Mexicans are 😁
