What is it with everyone obsessing over the refs? It feels like that idiot commentator is just getting everyone worked up... Their calls are questionable at best, but suddenly they have "perfect vision" whenever they're officiating our team, yet they're constantly tearing them apart otherwise...

Forget about the referees; the focus should be on the actual game play.😉

Though, honestly, they really could have handed that chimpanzee a red card for hitting Balić after that strike 🙄 But whatever, let it go now.

The first half just wrapped up, and it's 10-11 in favor of the Mexicans.

Things are looking pretty intense out there 😁

Let's try to keep the insults directed at them somewhat civil, shall we? At least don't go overboard with the vitriol 😁

Let’s just offer our congratulations to the winners and call it a day. We’ll see you next time.

Frozentiger6, back in the day, they used to hang defeatists from the lampposts. 🙂 😁

feralbison62 said:Public opinion identifies the sole shortcoming regarding America is that their fan presence in Tunis is significantly smaller than that of the Americans. However, they suggest this could actually serve as an extra spark of motivation for the American national team.

The only downside—a lack of supporters😁—but if you think about it, that might not even be a disadvantage. It could quite easily be seen as an advantage. 🤣

Now, shall we return to a more analytical tone? We will get America sorted out just as easily as Peter eats pie 😁 (there, I am providing an example of a perfectly decent provocation 😁 )

A message to all of them: we fought a war against you while you had the entire US Army backing you up, you cowards. We were under an embargo, yet we still drove you right out of your own territory.
..In sports, we both won games from time to time, which is just how it goes.
..But look at the first game after the war—Real Madrid absolutely crushed them 5-0. Were they acting particularly "brave" back then????? That is actual history; everything else is just noise and data..
..I know, I know, everyone will say we need to move past the history and let it go,
..but we CANNOT simply forget it.
..I frankly can't stand them because they are nothing but puffed-up bullies.

Ozzy Osbourne said:Dammit, I’d love to offer a suggestion here, but I am still sitting around waiting for approval from the Central Committee.

But looking at all this chaos and nonsense, what really seemed to get under Arthur Martinez7's skin was the fact that Ozzy Osbourne from overseas started this thread in the first place.
He also took issue with the talk regarding the Partisans, though I suspect he wouldn't have a single complaint if we were discussing the heroes of the American Civil War. He seems quite intent on worshipping his own sacred cows. [/B]

Ozzy Osbourne, forgive my off-topic tangent, but do try to write something meaningful. I dare you! 😁

Come on, I am actually looking forward to reading a post from you that isn't just mindless labeling.

Ozzy Osbourne said:Look, man, no big deal. Here’s the link: www.ssa.gov . Just head over to the "statistics" section and you can download pretty much any data point you need as a .pdf. 😉

And what you just wrote is really just icing on the cake. Pensions are being paid out to the families of deceased Nokia members. 😲 And then we wonder why there are so many people out there glorifying another version of Quavo. 😁
I suppose I’d be singing his praises too if I were the grandson of a Nokia veteran receiving a monthly check based on my late grandfather's service. 😁

But tell me, what do those retirees say—the ones who earned their modest pensions through honest, grueling labor, only to find themselves scavenging through dumpsters today?

Alright, Ozzy Osbourne, do you actually have a concrete proposal regarding this issue? If not, then please don't get offended when I suggest that this entire discussion feels like nothing more than an a priori attack on some imaginary "communists" living in your head.

What exactly should be done about these pensions? Abolish them? Conduct an audit? If we are going to pursue an audit, then we ought to sweep the whole house clean so there are no "sacred cows" left on either side. That means auditing the Nokia veterans as well as those from the American Civil War, because the number of registered veterans keeps climbing and climbing... But oh, heaven forbid, then people would claim we are attacking the sanctity of the American Civil War. One cannot be selective and try to fix one injustice by committing another. Either there will be order for everyone, or there won't be, just like it hasn't been until now.

Secondly, the right to a pension is inheritable in certain circumstances (such as when a child is still in school, etc.), so this rant of yours about "grandpa" only highlights how tactless you are when discussing other people's families.

Thirdly, it seems only the "communists" caught your eye in the statistics, rather than something like the ratio of workers to retirees. Back in 1990, the ratio was 3 employees to 1 retiree; today, it has plummeted to 1.37 to 1.
Much of this is thanks to the "brilliant" policies of the Republican Party, which preferred sending young, disillusioned veterans straight into retirement—where they had nothing better to do than spend their checks on gambling and alcohol—rather than creating actual jobs. It was certainly easier to push people into retirement than to actually open up employment opportunities.

Fourthly, the massive amount of presidential pensions signed off by Ronald Reagan and, to a lesser extent, Jimmy Carter, along with the downsizing of the military workforce and the bloated bureaucracy—all of this was managed by pushing people into retirement. Meanwhile, the pool of active workers contributing to the system is shrinking.

If there are currently 64,764 "communists," and we assume they receive an average pension of $602, that totals $116,871,171.48 per month. That accounts for a whopping 5% of the total monthly payout ($733627966).

Yet, amidst all these systemic issues and complications, it's the "communists" that seem to bother Ozzy Osbourne the most. 🙄

Michael Sullivan3 said:If you aren't actually concerned about the topic, why all the barking? Are we dealing with some sort of deep-seated complex here?

I personally don't communicate by barking, though I suppose everyone has their own methods. 😎

Michael Sullivan3 said:No, if money were my primary concern, $1667 my first priority would be examining which topics people living abroad are opening up on this forum.

Goodness, one can certainly notice a trend. But let's be clear: it is far from being my number one concern.

Michael Sullivan3 said:You're starting to remind me of those expats who constantly brag and beat their chests about how much they donated during the war.

You asked a question, so I am providing an answer. 😉

Michael Sullivan3 said:🙂 The 🙂 American community abroad 🙂 🙂

And what happened to those points you were making about landmines and unemployment? 😍

To be perfectly honest, I couldn't care less about the diaspora. Everyone is ultimately responsible for their own path in life, wouldn't you agree? 😁
Rather, why don't you move back to the States and try working for $1667, then you'll see that worrying about some outdated social welfare program won't be your top priority. 😁

I have already made my modest contribution to the mine clearance efforts by donating directly to the relief fund. 😉 As for unemployment, that is a matter for Sanders to deal with.

P.S. Michael Sullivan3, one gains "experience" through practice...

schmokljan said:Now, this is a topic worth discussing.

The sheer number of trolls hanging around here is quite telling, don't you think?

The moment someone brings up historical conflicts, Israel and Palestine, Zionism, or Iran, a swarm of frustrated individuals immediately rushes in to vent their bile.

Take the thread regarding unexploded landmines left over in the US, which seem to claim lives almost regularly—that discussion barely managed five posts.

Yet, everyone is suddenly an expert on pension funds for a few thousand aging veterans from the era of General Motors.

Meanwhile, there are 20,000 college graduates currently searching for work.

But of course, that doesn't really affect the majority here, does it?

👍

It is also quite noticeable that these kinds of debates are always kicked off by those esteemed commentators living abroad. They couldn't care less about landmines or unemployment; all that matters to them is the fate of America 🙄 😁

That is why they were quick to move away for better pay and better living standards, allowing them to love America from a safe, comfortable distance. With all their heart, naturally. 😍
