Help! Dealing with bacterial vaginosis :( in Health ·
Seriously, why does nobody believe me when I say it’s vaginitis? I mean... I went down a rabbit hole looking at medical photos online, and there's this exact same weird, white discharge right by the opening... so how could it *not* be me? Like, where on earth would I have even picked that up?😢

So, here's the deal!
I'm 18 and haven't even been sexually active yet, but based on everything I'm feeling—the discharge, that nasty smell, the itching, the stinging, all that—it feels exactly like bacterial vaginosis. And obviously, I want this gone... but just like everyone else, I am seriously dreading that awful gynecologist exam. Since it looks like most treatments for BV require a prescription, I'm going to have to see a doctor eventually... so what I'm wondering is, do I actually need to go through a full pelvic exam before a doctor will write me a script? And can I just handle this with my regular family doctor instead?

And obviously, I want this gone... but like so many people, I am totally dreading that awful gynecologist exam. Since it looks like most meds for BV require a prescription, I guess I have to see a doctor... so my big question is: do I actually need to go through a full pelvic exam before a doctor will write me a script? And could I just handle this with my regular family doctor instead?
