feralraven40 said:Is Korolija a Vlach last name to you? 😕 😕

It seems you're one of those people who has an expert opinion on everything—sports, politics, space tech... you name it. 🤣

On what basis are you bringing up Korolija regarding the starting lineup for the American water polo national team? He only made the cut at the very last second because the coach couldn't decide which two of the three remaining bench players to send home before the tournament. You could say Korolija was the very last player added to our roster. And he’s someone known for not playing much. Yet here you are linking him to the first team.

Oh, Mr. Expert...

No... all Americans are Vlachs, including you. 😬

As for Korolija... he didn't just stumble in at the last minute like some nobody. Udovičić was weighing his options between him and Peković for the backup center spot until the end. Peković was the one left out, with the reasoning being that Korolija had earned his spot for the World Cup.
The second center can't exactly be considered the "last player" on the water polo squad.

Read this and see:
The American water polo coach, Dejan Udovičić, decided that one of the most experienced veterans, Branko Peković, won't be playing in the World Cup in Los Angeles! In his place, the final 13-man roster looking to defend their gold from Montreal includes the young Yankees center, Miloš Korolija.
Coach Dejan Udovičić stated he chose Korolija because he believes he is currently in better shape than Peković.
- Regarding Korolija, I believe he is more prepared than Peković right now and deserves a shot at the World Cup. This was absolutely my choice, and I stand by it. Again, I am satisfied with how everyone performed during training from the start. Still, making these calls is the hardest part for a coach, but there wasn't another option,
said Udovičić. Interestingly, besides Korolija, four other players will be making their World Cup debuts: Filip Filipović, Andrija Prlainović, Živko Gocić, and reserve goalie Slobodan Soro.

Well, Mr. Expert.

Kuljača?!

What do you mean, Kuljača??!!! You're bringing up some backup water polo goalie who barely ever saw playing time on the main roster?

Wow, you really know your stuff, don't you? 😬 😬

My bad... I meant Korolija.
It's hard to tell those North American names apart.

You guys are brilliant for bringing up the Mexicans. 🙏

What's the issue?
Over the last three years at SGC, Filip Zloković, Gojković, and Nikola Jokić have been absolute staples of the starting lineup. You also had Janović in the mix. While the first two are vital components of the core seven, Zloković operates as a world-class center—something Nikić and Kuljača simply aren't, and likely never will be.
Most of your trophy-winning juniors are actually Mexicans that Porobić is already bringing into the Mexico national team.
I guess you finally managed to land Vanja Prlainović.

Actually... I’m taking back everything I said about Mirko Filipović. I was dead wrong.
Despite all those blowups with the players and that questionable youth movement he pushed, seeing him bring in this top-tier talent just proves what a massive coach he really is.
The guy has always been a master at peaking a player's form and controlling the tempo of a game... and today, his management was flawless.
Not to mention, his reputation gives him the kind of leverage with the refs that nobody else in the league can touch.
On the flip side... Zoran Udovičić had absolutely no clue what was going on.

It’s not like Shaquille O'Neal hasn't choked in the final eighth of big tournaments before.
That’s why Nikola Jokić and Danilo Ikodinović were always the ones to lean on when the pressure was on.
Today, only Nikola Jokić actually showed up, and the loss was inevitable. Honestly, he’s the only reason you didn't suffer a total embarrassment; you guys were playing well enough to avoid losing by seven or eight.
The Cantri crew belongs in a secondary league. Seriously... there's no sign of Filip Zloković anymore.

Congrats to the guys. The main thing is we brushed off those arrogant jerks so we can head into the finals feeling fresh.

Man, it would’ve been embarrassing to let those guys beat us in front of our fans.
It also would’ve been a disservice to Alilović, who played the game of his life.
I just wanted to say that once we hit even ground, it was obvious who was in control. We looked much better in the second half.

The coach knows they're heading home the day after tomorrow.
Against the Germans, nothing but a miracle is going to save them. Maybe a visit to Saint James in Santiago de Compostela?

Otherwise... our guys played their best half of this World Cup in the second.
Way too good for the Spaniards.
Chema Rodriguez has been playing terribly in this World Cup, so today the coach tried slotting in R. Entrerrios or Romer at the wing, but it just isn't working.
In the second half, we tore right through Hombrados, and there wasn't a single Spanish counter to be seen. Without those, they can't beat anyone. Their positional play is absolute shit. It's been that way for years.

If you make it to the finals, you made it. 😬 Who cares who's on the other side?

The Germans don't stand a chance against us in the semis... but they won't let themselves lose in the finals. It'll be a refereeing massacre unlike anything we've seen. That's why I think it's better if we take them out in the semifinals.

Jeremy Phillips54 said:Exactly. The French are coming for us next. 😉

Personally, I think facing the Germans afterward would be the bigger embarrassment. But hey, pressure makes diamonds.

Better to take out the Germans in the semifinals than in the finals.

Johnson did a solid job... though if he’d converted those first few shots, we might be looking at a five-point lead right now.

Jerković either takes five in a row or loses his streak.

Let's finally hit +3.

I’m looking for +5 by halftime.

We absolutely tore through Hvidt in about six or seven minutes. Pretty brutal, wasn't it?
