Looking for a specialist... in Health ·

person and the rest of the crew are excellent (speaking from experience); I’d count person among them too! He even has his own site where you can send an inquiry: http://www.stancic.eu/marin/hr/kontakt.html

Thanks. Isn't person more suited for head issues?

I’ve heard mixed reviews regarding Dr. Stančić at Stančić, much like what people say about Dr. Saftić (who sees patients privately). When you're dealing with health issues, there are many moving parts to consider. It certainly doesn't hurt to gather different perspectives and try to meet a doctor in person before making a final call.

Thanks again.
Exactly. That is precisely why I am asking here—to see if anyone can share their actual experiences. It is surprisingly difficult to get reliable information through the County Government regarding doctors based in NYC.

Thanks. Which of these hospitals has a stronger neurosurgery department? (We are looking into a rare condition)
Where do Dr. M. Stančić and Dr. Saftić stand in this scenario? I've heard their names mentioned before, but I'm not sure which facilities they are affiliated with.

I assume this is a more significant procedure than just removing a lipoma, which means they won't be doing it under local anesthesia. Regardless of how they decide to "knock you out," I am confident you won't run into those same issues again.

Of course, you should mention your previous experience to the anesthesiologist beforehand. It helps provide context if they feel it’s necessary to adjust their approach.

Good luck.

Thanks. I will definitely bring that up with the anesthesiologist. I'm not sure how much that specific detail will impact the scheduling or timing, but I'll take it as it comes.
I actually quite like your choice of words, "knock you out"...

In my experience, local anesthesia didn't even kick in until two or three hours after a minor procedure—just a quick lipoma removal. Everything was finished, cleaned up, and stitched back together. They drove me home, I rested for a bit, and once I sat down with a cup of coffee to feel human again, that's when the numbness finally hit!

Anesthesia effects lasting several hours longer than expected

How should one approach spinal surgery when dealing with this specific issue? Does anyone here have any firsthand experience with this?

1. Looking for a neurosurgeon specializing in the lumbar spine—any recommendations in NYC or San Francisco?

2. I'm trying to decide between getting neurosurgery in San Francisco (since I'm local to the area) or heading to NYC. What are the advantages of a major hub like NYC? Or should I just stick to what's close to home?
