New fan legislation in Fans ·
So, I was watching the sessions in Congress on TV the other day, and man, I think you guys were probably getting goosebumps just watching it. It’s wild seeing who actually writes our laws and how they go about it—it's a miracle we're still moving forward at all. The whole level of communication is a joke. It's just "we did this" versus "you did that," and don't even get me started on how these people land those high-paying jobs. Honestly, it's better comedy than anything else on television. It makes me wonder about their actual knowledge base before they vote. These representatives have already proven time and again that they often don't have a clue what they're talking about, usually just voting along party lines or simply to spite the other side. Now, I'm not a "fan" in the sense people use it here, but if we have a sport—soccer, specifically—where you have two teams going head-to-head, you have competition, rivalry, tension... it's built-in. You don't have all 22 players running around together in harmony. So, naturally, that rivalry spills over into the stands or the spectators because people tie their identities to these clubs. Every subculture has its own customs and ways of doing things. That's why any fan law should have actually studied those groups or at least tried to understand them. If the law had some logic, it might work. Right now, if you act like a hooligan, you get punished like a hooligan. But look at this: say my uncle and I go to a game once every ten years. We grab a couple of beers, he wears a scarf, I wear a hat, and some random thugs start fighting near us. We stay perfectly calm, yet suddenly we're facing bans and fines like we're the biggest ultra-hooligans out there. When asked why, the answer is simple: we just showed up to the game. That’s the core of the problem, and that's what bugs me. Imagine going to a concert and getting banned from seeing your favorite band forever just because of some drinking, singing too loud, stage diving, or dancing... 😁
I didn't mean to ramble, but this is just my take on the situation. I'm always for personal freedom and human rights. If the future of fan culture becomes a bunch of mindless idiots—not literally, but people without an ounce of their own opinion, following whatever mindless slogans or trumpets some corporate-sponsored puppet screams into a microphone—then I'm standing right there with you!

P.s. I just remembered another example of double standards: remember near Mount Sljeme during the New Year's tour? Or even in Innsbruck where two Austrians were on the podium? Apparently, setting off flares there is just considered "creating a magnificent atmosphere!"

You're wasting your breath trying to explain things when my whole post was pure sarcasm.😉

If that was irony, then you really pulled one over on me. I’m sitting here looking like a total amateur. Nice one. 🙏
Yeah, maybe it was a bit dumb, but I was actually at the game. I wanted to share my take on how things played out and why I'm even chiming in. Basically... it was a hell of a lesson learned, and I'm buying the beers. Don't be salty about it. 👍

🤮

Hey, this is my first time posting here. Honestly, I wouldn’t even bother responding if it hadn't gotten personal, but now I'm dragged into this. Just so we're clear, I'm a "casual"—yeah, yeah, I see how much that matters around here. I head out East for games pretty regularly, and I’m not here to play philosopher because there are plenty of people here way smarter and more plugged in than I am. But this kind of sweeping generalization? It sits wrong with me. Let me tell you about myself and the crowd I run with. I support the Lakers and I love Los Angeles. That’s why I show up. It’s about the atmosphere, the adrenaline, the camaraderie, the trash talk, and grabbing a beer with people who actually get it. I don't give a damn about the visiting fans; I'm there for my team, not to hunt down some random guy from out of town just to cause trouble, no matter how much chaos someone might want to stir up. But look, leave me and my people alone. If you come for us, I’ll do everything in my power to make sure you regret it. I've seen the way you "punks" act when you think you've got the upper hand, and let me tell you, it isn't pretty. Sure, the stands are a mixed bag, but everyone knows exactly who shows up there—and I’m certainly not talking about the punks. At least, not the whole section.
I don't give a damn about mercenaries, nor would I ever want to be standing next to them, but this constant generalization is what really gets under my skin. They wouldn't fare well in a real situation anyway. Honestly, I couldn't care less about Mamić or his money, but hearing people talk like he’s some kind of hero—and seeing folks actually jumping to his defense—is just depressing. It’s enough to make you lose faith in everything.😠 And I’m sure there aren't any thugs or hired goons sitting in the other sections either. No, not at all... it's just the East Stand.😂
And that thing about the East? It’s got nothing to do with the Boys. I'm not even going to dignify it with a comment.
Look, man, why don't you actually show up to a game once in a while before you start chirping about who's in the stands? If you aren't there, stick to other topics. Sorry for jumping the gun and derailing this thread, my bad.
