Russia's invasion of Ukraine: Part 5 in War in Ukraine ·
hollowdriver13 said:The President of Kazakhstan is sitting there acting totally stone-faced, claiming he doesn't recognize the DPR or LNR, even though Putin is literally sitting just a few feet away from him. Man's got some serious guts, I'll give him that—he might just end up becoming a legend in the world of exotic Russian tea blends.

The star of the show tonight was definitely Milorad Dodik, rambling on about how the West is basically brainwashing people and turning them into robots... 😁
If I hadn't heard it with my own two ears, I wouldn't have believed it. 🤣

In democratic and European (lol) Ukraine, nobody ever actually faced consequences for that crime, even though there’s detailed video footage of everything happening.

Wait, let me see if I’m following you here—so you don't want to get involved or even comment on the aggression against Ukraine, where the death toll is climbing by nearly a thousand people every single day because "it's not our problem" (far away, what do we have to do with it, etc., etc...), but some conflict in Odessa from almost ten years ago involving a small group of people—that *is* your problem, and you're super bitter about it because it was never resolved?!

first things first—they go after all you collaborators...

Basically, they aim right at anyone who’s collaborated so closely with the virus that they've become the perfect candidates to bring back that whole "ready for the local health clinic!" vibe—not just to put them back on the map of American heroes, but on the global stage too...

Meanwhile, the partisans are still allowed to carry out their little genocide against the poor virus without any interference—even if their goal isn't just to drive it out of American territory, but they'd probably be annoyed if it even found sanctuary in nearby Vatican City... or maybe somewhere far away in Argentina...

Man, we just can't seem to dig ourselves out of this proverbial hole we're in.

For starters, it would be nice if people stopped lying...

This subforum is primarily intended for the "anti-vax" narrative. (Until you guys agree on another term, we'll stick with this widely accepted one, okay?)

No, they can't. Why lie about it?

Have you tried running chkdsk on your laptop yet?

Nah, it won't. It hits a certain percentage and just... freezes. After a bit, I get that annoying pop-up asking if I want to skip the file or just cancel the whole thing. I already ran chkdsk and it finished up fine—Drive C shows zero errors. Which is honestly super weird.
If I can't just move these two folders onto an external drive, I swear I'm gonna chuck this laptop off the roof of my apartment building.

It just hit me—it’s not even letting me zip them. I tried uploading everything straight to Google Drive, but even that's failing.

I don't know about that, man. For instance—I've got this folder full of photos—and whenever I try to move them, half the shots transfer fine, but then another batch gets stuck at like 90% and just hangs there... eventually throwing an error saying the file can't be moved and asking if I want to skip it. It’s the exact same deal with my videos, too. Some of the 3 or 4 GB files go through without a hitch, but then some tiny 300 MB ones just fail. If it were really a file system issue—like whether it's NTFS or FAT or whatever—it would either work for everything or nothing at all, right?
Hey everyone, I’ve been dealing with this one headache for a while now and I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction.
So, I have this old laptop sitting around that I haven't really touched in ages, but it's packed with stuff—mostly old family photos, videos, some important docs, you know the drill. I finally bit the bullet and bought an external hard drive to move everything over because this laptop is pushing ten years old now... it's definitely on its last legs and I'm terrified of losing everything if the hardware finally gives up the ghost.
The thing is, when I plug the external drive in via USB and start the transfer, things seem fine at first, but then it hits a wall. About 20 to 50% of the files just refuse to move. The transfer speed drops straight to zero, hangs there for a bit, and then the system just gives me the option to "skip file" and moves on.
The weirdest part? I can still open and play those specific files perfectly fine on the laptop itself—they don't seem corrupted or anything—but they just won't budge when I try to copy them off.
Does anyone have any idea what might be causing this or how I can fix it without losing my mind (or my memories)?
Thanks so much in advance for any help you guys can give...

Because I just found out today that if someone retires in a tennis match, Bwin doesn't record it at odds of 1.0. Fish was up 1-0 in games and then retired, and that was the one single bet I missed because Bwin credited the win to Blake instead. Am I stupid, crazy, or just something else entirely for not knowing this?! I honestly thought and hoped Bwin was a more serious sportsbook...
🙂

But how can they be an "unserious" sportsbook if they're actually just following their own rules? No offense intended, but you're being an unserious bettor if you don't study the fine print before putting money down. Personally, I always make sure I know which books won't count a retirement at 1.0 odds so I can actually exploit that if the right opportunity pops up—like when you get word that a player is limping onto the court.
Sorry man, now that you know how they play things, don't cry over the lost cash; just figure out how to turn that knowledge into an advantage later on. 😉
They didn't actually do anything wrong here.
